Stocked Fridge

We spent today getting ready for Jorja's farewell. She has lots of ideas. I did get some things from Karen Brown at my work. She gave me stuff for a soda station and this cool fortune cookie box. It even had a J on it from when she used it for one of her girls' weddings. Perfect for Jorja!

Jorja and I took a break from cooking and went to eat at Blue Lemon. I only took a picture of my salad. Haha. Whoops on that one.

I stole this picture from Stockton's blog. We spent all day cooking bubble waffles and making egg rolls, bao and this mango pudding thing. It was fun cooking and spending so much time with Jorja (and Mike.) We are all exhausted, but excited for Jorja tomorrow. She has been waiting for this day for a long time!

Stockton and Alyssa's First Home

Stockton and Alyssa moved into their apartment in Logan today. It is in Aggie Village. It is old with cinderblock walls, but it is such a perfect location. And a decent price too. They lucked out getting it. It's not fancy, but I think it will serve them well. Stockton and Alyssa drove up from Mapleton today. Mike and I came after I got off work. I skipped lunch and was able to leave at 2:00. We were able to help them move a lot of things in before we headed off to eat at Market Street Grill.

Their apartment is in the same parking lot as the football stadium. Haha. I would have loved that. I was worried that parking would be super hard. Turns out it is going to be awesome. They are going to be allowed to use the football stadium parking, so they will never have to worry about not being able to find a place to park. Love that!

After eating we hurried to Walmart and got as many things as we could before it was time to leave to meet Alyssa's parents. Stockton was holding a giant fruit punch bottle and dropped it. It got all over my shoes. When Stockton and Alyssa came back to Walmart with Alyssa's parents the evidence was still there.

Alyssa's parents helped them move a ton of the big stuff. Tables, tvs and beds. While they were doing that Mike and I headed home for another busy day tomorrow. I had forgotten to get a picture of Stockton and Alyssa in front of their apartment. I asked Stockton to text me one. These two are going to have many happy memories there.

Dim Sum

Jorja went to Alta to visit student government today. She facetimed her ambassador partner while she was there. They were both over Alta at USULC. The kids loved it. The student body officers weren't there. The governor of Utah came to Alta today, so they were off getting ready for that. Jorja had two different dates today. One was with someone she met at FSY. I can't remember his name.

The second date was with Pete. He is her ambassador friend. They were recreating the pictures on the wall at Chick-Fil-A and it made me laugh. Jorja is so funny.

Jorja wants to make Bubble Waffles for her farewell. Also dim sum. Mike took Jorja to the store to get ingredients. Then she spent the rest of the day making dim sum.

Jorja put yeast in a small bowl like thing. I told her that wasn't big enough. Mike told her it would be fine. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Jorja got lots of dim sum made today and put in the freezer for Sunday. She spent some time doing eye therapy and Preston and I were there for moral support. Jorja and Preston were also speaking Chinese together while Jorja was cooking and it was amazing. I wish they would do that more often.

Matt and Sam came down tonight. They are here for Jorja's farewell. They came down today so Sam could go to work on Friday. She works online, but tries to come in person once a month. Their entire family are sleeping in the boys room. I hope it works out for them. Sam says they will be fine.

Christmas for Two

Stockton sent us this picture of Alyssa noticing the pencil sharpener. It has been a long joke about how unobservant the Millburn are. None of us noticed the pencil sharpener that is outside, but all of our spouses noticed it first thing. I think Bubs is the exception to us. Anyway, Stockton got a kick when Alyssa noticed the pencil sharpener. Alyssa also got all of her classes back, so that is a relief.

New tables at Alta

Mike, Stockton and Alyssa all got back from the cabin today. Stockton and Alyssa hung out with us for awhile. Maysen was able to give them her present. She got them a duffel bag she was really excited about. It actually was a super nice present. More pricey than a regular duffel bag, but she has enjoyed having a job so she can do things like this. Anyway, everyone borrows Maysen's duffel bag she got at the Overstock warehouse when we first moved here. She wasn't able to find the exact one, but she found one from the same brand. Mike and I gave them a router they will be able to use in their apartment. We are planning on giving them either a couch or a washer/dryer... they will let us know what they decide.

Mike and I went up to Alyssa's house and watched Stockton and Alyssa open their wedding presents. That was really fun. People are generous and very nice. Stockton said it was like Christmas but every present was for him. Hahaha

Stockton and Alyssa stayed at her parents house tonight. Mike and I drove home exhausted. Long day, especially for Mike. Also... enjoy some random photos of Jorja's eye therapy homework. She has things taped like this around the house. Whatever works to get those eyes fixed!

Mission Tags

Jorja got her mission tags today! She was so excited. I worked today. The start of the school year is busy in the registrar's office! Jorja went by herself to eye therapy and to the dentist. Then she went on a date with Pete. Mike drove up to the cabin tonight. He is going to work there tomorrow and then help Stockton and Alyssa shut everything down. I hope they enjoyed their honeymoon. Back to the real world for them very soon.

Lost Classes

So Stockton called me today to ask for help with Alyssa's schedule. I was not much help. All of Alyssa's classes were dropped and she just found out about it today. Her parents didn't get the tuition in before the drop deadline. Understandable with all the wedding hoopla. There is just a notice on a page and no real reminder so it is easy to miss. We miss it so many times when we would need to get the housing money in. Luckily all three kids have had a full tuition scholarship, so we never had any dropped classes. Alyssa was able to get all of her classes back but two. She is on the waitlist for those. Fingers crossed all goes well.

Emily's Farewell

Jorja had two farewells to go to today. Emily's up in the Ogden area, and Caleb at our building. Emily's was first and at 9:00, so Jorja left early to head down there. Emily has sure been a great friend for Jorja. She was able to make it back in time to go to Caleb's farewell. He is one of her high school friends. Glad she was able to make it to both.

Today we cleaned the church with the Stakers. Mike and Burke were so funny. It became a contest between which family would get there first. We won. We kept calling Burke 'Burt' the entire day because that is what the guy in charge called him. It was pretty easy cleaning because... I can't remember why... just that it was really easy. We saw Jorja's mission plaque is now up. Too bad they misspelled her name. Jorga Smith. Jorja said, "That is my least favorite way people misspell my name." There were also two other problems. Joshua was spelled "Johsua" and Withersoever was spelled "Withersover" Yikes. They are going to redo her plaque.

We got Maysen an early birthday present, We got her a new desk for her room. This will make her work a lot easier. She has been crowded at her old desk in the computer room. We are also going to have this be Jorja's room when she does home MTC. It turned out really well and kind of has a dorm room feel. I like it a lot. Maysen does too and that makes me happy.

Stockton sent us this picture at the cabin. We were wondering if we should try to come up to the cabin this weekend and go jet skiing. Good thing we didn't because it was raining hard. Stockton and Alyssa also got their new address. Yay! They will be on the first floor. I think Stockton will like that. They are about to start real life soon. My babies are all growing up!

I found this video of Jorja and Preston. I'm going to miss them hanging out together. Preston sure is going to miss Jorja while she is in Hong Kong. He will be at the end of his junior year of high school when she comes back. That's not so bad.

It's Raining

Jorja came home from retreat today. I sure love having her home and I'm going to miss her when she is in Hong Kong. I love all the adventures she is having and will continue to have. That girl sure reaches for the stars. I love watching everything she accomplishes. Also, I saw this meme about acceptance and I loved it.

75 Years Old

Today was my mom's birthday. She would have been 75 years old. Crazy. I can't even imagine. I worked today, but my dad and I went to lunch at Zao's. I had book club tonight at Becky Johnson's house. That was a fun way to end the day. It looks like Jorja has been having a lot of fun at her ambassador retreat. She won't be here next year along with a few other people that are going on missions. When the ambassadors have their classes, Jorja and these future missionaries get to hang out. I think she has really enjoyed that.
