Six Flags Over Georgia

This morning we drove back up to Villa Rica to eat at the Waffle House near our old home.  There are Waffle Houses everywhere in the South, but this one was ours.

Our next stop was Six Flags!  We had such a fun day today.  It was fun to watch the kids so happy remembering things.  A lot is the same and a lot has changed.  We were disappointed that Preston wasn't tall enough to ride many of the rides.  I didn't even think about this.  He can ride all the rides at Lagoon and loves the scary roller coasters.  He wasn't tall enough for Superman, which is my favorite ride.  So sad!  Mike waited with him while I rode Superman with the others.  We picked the very back.  I sat next to Stockton and loved hearing him laugh during the ride.  That one is a fun one!  We rode Monster Plantation together, which is a silly monster version of It's a Small World.  That was Jorja's favorite ride years ago.  They have a new extreme swings ride.  It is fun! You are up so high and the world is beautiful!  Mike and I were talking about the clouds while we were on this ride.  We were pointing to how dark they were looking.  Every time we swung around the dark clouds got closer and closer.  When we landed they stopped the ride until further notice.

It started drizzling and people were running for cover.  The rain felt so good!  We were laughing at the people running.  I told Mike that I wanted to go back to the motorhome for lunch and to wait out the storm.  "Don't you remember Georgia storms?"  Georgia storms are super powerful.  It rains sideways.  I did not want to get caught in that. We were at the back of the park at this time.  We made it half way through the park when the rain came down!  We ran and ran and ran to the motorhome.  We were soaked by the time we got there.  Jorja got lost.  Her contact had fallen out and it was raining so hard she couldn't see.  She wasn't lost for that long, she managed to stumble her way to the motorhome and arrived one minute after we did.  I think she was scared because she didn't know where she was.  We knew where she was so we didn't have the same reaction.  Anyways, we changed clothes, ate lunch, napped and played games until the weather calmed down. We were able to ride several more rides, but the favorite of the afternoon was Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters.  This is also a new ride.  It was hilarious.  Mike, Maysen, Stockton and Preston rode this one.  In order to ride it, you need someone who is short enough with you.  This is where Preston's height came in handy.  The cannons in the buckets shoot far.  The buckets spin the entire time.  Everyone gets soaked, including the people waiting in line.  They loved this ride.  Mike thinks it should be called "The Sitting Duck"

We were so excited for Preston to ride the Tweety Bird ride.  He was not as excited as us.  Maysen loved this ride when she was little.

We were waiting in line for the new virtual reality ride at Six Flags.  The Dare Devil Dive.  Preston is tall enough for this ride, so we were excited about that.  The line is usually 2 hours long, but we got there with only an hour wait.  We decided to go for it.  It started raining again when we were about twenty minutes away.  We decided to stay where we were because we were under cover.  They let us for awhile, then they said we needed to leave.  All the workers took off.  We waited in a gift shop until the rain let up a bit, but it became clear Six Flags was done for the day.

We decided we would come for a few hours in the morning tomorrow. We bought season passes because we are planning on going to Six Flags Whitewater tomorrow and the passes were cheaper this way.  The passes also came with free parking, so that is nice.  Anyway, we tried to find somewhere to camp nearby but had no luck.  We ended up driving back to Douglasville and parking in our old church parking lot.  Lots of memories there too!
