Wavelength

Totally surprised to see a post on Facebook that Stockton's childhood friend from Georgia got married on Tuesday. Wow! Pretty cool wedding date though. 2-22-2022

I texted Chantale a few pictures from high school. I asked if this was her sister. It was! She laughed and laughed. Chantale is ten years younger than her sister.
Danielle & Eric
They were in our homecoming group senior year. No way I can remember everybody. I'll see if I can get Mike to help. Blast from the past for sure.

We met at Steve and Shannon's house to play games. Preston came with us. Brandon came down from Provo. Lisa, Nathan, Melissa and her family, Taylor and Michael were there. Derek's mom and niece also came. (They are in town for James' baby blessing tomorrow.) We played a game called Wavelength. Totally a Michael Hodson game. He loves games you can argue. Haha. After that game we played Herd Mentality. I thought that game was a lot of fun.

Preston reading the rules for Wavelength. He LOVES reading rule books. Also he has primer in his hair.
Mike
Mike and Preston have been working on building a video game cabinet, which is why Preston has primer in his hair. They have been having a lot of fun with that. Mike building with one of his kids. Mike's dream come true.

Heather's House!

We left Stone Mountain this morning and headed to the house of our high school friend.  It was so fun to have her live in Georgia when we did.  I also went to college with Heather.  I mentioned to Paul that we had an institute class together.  It is easy for me to remember him because he was engaged to Heather at the time and I always sat next to Heather.  Before we left our campground I was able to get pictures of our 'Southern' shirts.

I wanted to get this one for Maysen, but it wasn't in the buy 3 get one free deal.  I probably should have gotten it for her anyway.  And a matching one for Grace.
We made it to Heather's house this afternoon!  I was so happy! Heather let me invade to do laundry, which is such a blessing.  It was nice to have a relaxing day.

Heather lives in such a magical place.  Lily was in the pool when we arrived.  She was in the pool for EIGHT hours today!  What a fish! There is a pond near Heather's house, so the kids were able to just play while I got the clothes clean.  It sure is beautiful here!

The kids got their swimsuits so they could swim for real.  Mike and Stockton had a mini war to push the other in.  They both lost.  Mike got Stockton in, but Stockton did not let go and Mike tumbled in after him.

I really wanted to go to the Hawaiian Chick-Fil-A.  Heather needed to drop Celia off at dance camp two hours away.  I thought we would get back around the time Heather did, but it took a lot longer than I expected.  I left Maysen at Heather's house doing laundry.  She doesn't like to eat out much.
It's kind of cool.  They have a fast food side and a restaurant side.  The same food is served on both sides.  We picked the fast food side of course.
 Their frozen pineapple was delicious

I stayed up talking to Heather for awhile before I headed back to the laundry room.  I worked on the laundry until two in the morning.  It is nice to have clean clothes for the second half of our trip though!  Good thing I will be able to sleep while Mike is driving!

Jill

Jill came over today.  It was so much fun!  Sometimes I forget how amazing it is to be around friends you've known most of your life.  We spent several hours together talking about everything.  My kids would have been bored out of their mind!  Years ago Jill and I planned our weddings together.  We didn't have the celebrations together, but we got married a week apart.  For some reason, Mike's mom really wanted us to get married on September 15th.  She kept hinting about how we should change the date.  Once she found out that Jill was getting married on that day she never asked us to change the date again.  She knew Jill.  When Mike was gone on his mission Jill and I would come up to family dinner at his house.  Jill's oldest daughter, Sadie, is a senior.  I remember when Sadie was born.  Maysen is almost a year younger than her.  For some reason right now I can't remember Sadie's middle name, but I remember Jill saying her name meant 'princess of peace'.  I laughed and said, "we named our daughter, 'worker of stone'". Jill was talking about Sadie's plans after high school.  I hope the next two years go slow for me.  I want to enjoy every second with Maysen.  It scares me to have her grow up.  I love having them all home where I can see them everyday.  Of course I want them to grow up eventually and have their own families.  I'm sure if they were all in their 40s and living with me my heart would ache for what they were missing.  So, I want to enjoy every second of the next few years while they are little and they are mine.

Jill and I went to lunch at a sandwich shop that she likes.  It was so yummy!  It is really close to Mike's work.  I will need to go there with him.  So good!  We spent another couple of hours there until her daughter, Aubrey, called and asked her to take her to work.  Hopefully it won't be so long until I see her again!

I guess I thought something was funny,
I never realized how old I look when I laugh!
I also had one picture with Jill's eyes closed and the next picture with my eyes closed.  I spared the blog those pictures.  You're welcome.

40 and Fabulous

Heather turned 40 today!  Well, actually she turns 40 tomorrow, but she won't be in town then.  She flies back to Georgia early tomorrow morning.  For some reason her family wanted to spend her birthday with her.  I met Heather a looooooooong time ago.  I'm sure I knew her in junior high, but most of my memories of her are from high school, and Utah State, and Georgia.  Amazing how often our paths crossed. Heather has the most amazing voice.  She comes to Utah a lot to work on her different albums.  She told me they are thinking of selling their lake house and buying a condo here.  That is a great idea!  Especially since I doubt we will be hanging out at their lake house with them any time soon.  Although, we did have a lot of fun there.  Anyway, I just adore Heather and was so excited to see her.  Her sister threw a little get-together for her.  Loved it.

One of Heather's friends made the most incredible witch hat.  Peacock feathers and all.  I loved it!  So beautiful!  I wish I had that kind of talent.
