Stockton woke up early to coach diving at Pepperwood. Jorja woke up early to go on a hike with Riley. He was set apart today as a missionary, so Jorja had a happy/sad day. Maysen had a job interview over zoom that went really well. It is a technical writing job. They asked her to come in person on Friday. Preston and I had an eye doctor appointment. We got glasses for Preston. His first time. His vision is -1 in both eyes, so not bad but enough glasses will be helpful to see the board at the front of the classroom. His plan is to keep them in his backpack and pull them out when needed. Mike still loves his ducks. That is today in a nutshell.

Biking Home from the Mission
There were two homecomings in our ward today. Rachael McHenry is back from Texas and Elder Lowe is back from Utah. His parents actually moved into his mission while he was a missionary. Haha. I wonder how many times that happens! He biked home and surprised his parents when he finished. Hahaha. (His parents were planning on picking him up but he got home first.) I also got a new teaching partner. Sister Bennett was released a few weeks ago. Today they called Kanani and I am pretty excited about that. Maysen and Stockton went to the single's ward. They are both really enjoying it, which makes me happy. Jorja didn't go with them. She is in the thick of farewell season. Today was Riley, Marshall, Ethan and Sadler's farewells. Jorja couldn't make it to Sadler's. Mike, Preston and I hurried out of our ward so we could get to Riley's farewell. We got there just in time.

Back in the Temple
Mike, Maysen, Stockton and I all got to go to the temple today. It was great! First time in a looooong time. There were a few things that were different, probably changed because of the pandemic. So that was interesting. It was really nice to be back in the temple, especially with my family. Jorja left early this morning for a hike and I got Preston ready to leave before we left. Jack's mom picked him up about fifteen minutes after we left. He had a great time. The boys all seemed to have a blast. Thank goodness! Grant's dad picked them up and took them out for pizza before he brought them home. I'm glad they thought of inviting Preston. I'm glad Sean was able to get out of his house and all the craziness that is his life right now, even if it was only for the day.
Mike and Maysen took apart her cromebook and replaced it with a new keyboard. I'm not sure if this will fix the problems it has been having, but it is worth a try. Plus they had fun doing it. Stockton made carne asada fries with Mike for dinner. Delicious.

Double Decker
Mike took all the kids jet skiing. Maysen even went. Mike said she loved it. Yay! Mike has been anxious to take his boat out on the lake. Usually he tows the boat with the pilot. I needed the pilot this weekend, so he tried towing it with the van. He took the boat on a test run down to the road and back. Test run failed. The van and boat got stuck on the way up the hill. Looks like he will need a 4 wheel drive to tow the boat. Mike called Terry to see if he was around. He was in Kansas City, but Taylor was up at the cabin. Taylor was able to pull the boat up to the top. Yay!

Ethiopia
Riley decided to leave on his mission on July 15th instead of October. He texted the information to his stake president this morning. He received a text back saying to check his email in a few minutes. His call was there a few minutes later. On a Sunday. Crazy! Riley decided to keep it a secret from his parents. He asked Jorja if she would come over when he opened his call at 3:00. He called his grandparents and told them what was going on. Still, his parents had no idea. Jorja made missionary cookies and brought them over. Riley told his parents Jorja was dropping off some cookies. Riley's mom apologized to Jorja when she got there. She told her she was sorry, she had no idea that both sets of grandparents would be there and she didn't want Jorja to feel overwhelmed. Everyone was sitting around talking with Riley's grandpa asked Riley about his mission. He started telling the story about his calling and then he pulled out his mission call. His parents started crying they had no idea he had it. So... Riley read his call and found out he is going to Ethiopia, speaking some kind of crazy language.

Choose Your Own Date
Jorja spent the morning with Riley. They wanted to go see a sunrise somewhere in American Fork I think. Then they hung out until Riley had to go to work in the afternoon. Right as Jorja was leaving Riley got a phone call. He was on the call for about ten minutes. Jorja felt awkward about leaving without saying goodbye, so she waited. Riley told her it was his stake president. Riley's call has been decided, but the country he is assigned to only allows missionaries to enter quarterly, or something like that. Riley can either leave July 15 or sometime in October. They are letting Riley make the decision. Weird!
Preston had to take a RISE test at school. I think it was an English test. It took longer than I thought. He texted me when he was done and I hurried down and picked him up. We then went to Firehouse Subs. Preston was a fan.

Prom
Mike and Maysen made Bear a jumping bar today. Maysen had fun trying to get him to jump it. Usually he just ran around it, but they got him jumping a few times. It was cute.
