Double Bear

Dang it. The pictures uploaded in the wrong order. I'm not going to care about that though. Jorja got her last shot for her mission. I can't even remember what the shot was for, but it was a pain to get. We scheduled this shot and would go to get it and they would say they didn't have any. That almost happened again today. Jorja waited and waited and waited while they tried to find the shot. They finally found it and it is now done. Which is great. What isn't great is that it made Jorja late to her missionary photo shoot with Dawson. Dawson is a fantastic photographer, but he can't control the sun. Oh well.

Jorja
Notice this Cantonese Book of Mormon. Jorja texted me and asked if we could go down to Sugarhouse and pick up this for her pictures. They didn't have one closer. Well, we won't be able to help her out like this much longer, so Mike and I hurried down there. Right after I walked in the store they closed and locked the doors. I got the last one too. Man, barely pulled that off for her.
I went on a walk with Bear dog and ran into my friend Jaime with her dog. They look so much alike! Hahaha. Also, I have no idea why Bear is standing on my feet in the second picture.

Jorja Finishes FSY

Mike spent the day sailing on the lake. Bear dog got out of the gate and tried to follow him. Mike isn't sure how he escaped. Mike was able to get him back and go sailing. Mike doesn't want to take him out on the boat when he sails alone because he is worried Bear would get scared and jump in the water. Mike wouldn't be able to leave the boat to get him. Mike did leave Bear with a big bone to occupy his time. Also, Mike found out he can officially work from Idaho if he wanted to. Even full time. Mike was happy about that.

I got a haircut today. I wish I had picked the Blue Jays for survival baseball. They won the Red Sox 27-5. Hahahaha That's nuts! The game was played in Boston. Double nuts! Jorja still felt miserable today. At 8:00 am she texted me letting me know she was feeling better except her throat hurts so bad. She has a ticket to go to Denver on Sunday and was wondering if she should change it. She looked into it. It would cost $10 to change the ticket with $120 extra dollars in fees. That is more than the original ticket cost. Around 9:00 at night Jorja called me and asked if I could pick her up. She said she felt so sick and got permission to go home. She didn't think she could drive home. So, I picked her up in Provo. Just to recap. Mike and I drove two cars down to Provo on Sunday because she wanted her car and didn't think she could drive. We left Jorja and her car there and we drove home together. Jorja didn't drive her car the entire week. I drove down today and picked her up, leaving her car there. Somehow we got to get that back. Ugh. I wish she wouldn't have insisted on having her car, but oh well. Too late now. Anyway, I got to the dorms and texted Jorja that I was there. While I was waiting for her to text me back someone came and knocked on my window. I rolled it down and they told me my tire was flat. I went and looked and sure enough it was. Great. I found Jorja. The health counselors took her temperature on the way out and it was back to 100 degrees. What a way to end her FSY experience. This was her last week. Lame way for it to end. I got Jorja in the car, made it to a gas station and was able to get air in the tire. Jorja slept most of the way home. She sure looks miserable. I can't believe how long she has been sick. Hopefully this will go away soon.
My phone made this video and Preston liked it.

Bear at the Park

Mike and I took Bear on a walk to the park by the church. It started raining on us, but Bear loved it. He loves being with Mike 100% of the time. It's so funny.
Jorja got her flight info to come home from Hawaii. Looks like she will be taking the red-eye Saturday night and will get here Sunday around noon. She has a five hour layover in Los Angeles. At least she will get to have a free Saturday to play. The turn around to get to Provo will be tight though! Jorja texted me this morning and said she had a 100 degree fever. She took some Tylenol and felt fine the rest of the day, but she wasn't allowed to be with the kids at all. She was pretty sad about that. She has absolutely loved this week and loved this group of kids. As good as Jorja's kids have been has been the exact opposite for Stockton. His kids have been HARD this week. I think he is looking forward to tomorrow and hoping for an easier week next week.

Photo Dump

I worked today and Mike and I booked a hotel tonight. We booked a hotel in American Fork the night before the wedding. Mike and Stockton have to be at the temple at 6:00 am. Maysen, Jorja and I need to be there at 6:30 am. I also don't want to make Preston get to the temple at 6:30 just to wait outside. The hotel is 8 minutes away from the temple. Right after the wedding we can go and pick Preston up and bring him back for pictures. I think this will work great. In other news... Jorja sent me a lot of no context pictures. Sure looks like she is having a blast though!

Jorja
Mike took this picture of us playing with Bear dog. Mike and I were holding the orange bone, along with Bear. We lifted his front paws off the ground. Preston came from behind and did wheelbarrow. Bear was floating in air. I don't think he really enjoyed it though.

Stockton looks like he is having fun at Snow, even though the kids are nuts!

Preston the Priest

Today was a great day. We now have 11:00 church, so that was nice. Alyssa left this morning to make it to church at her home ward. Preston was ordained a priest after church. Stockton performed the ordination, which was so great. My dad came over to our house after and made the kids milkshakes, per tradition. Haha. The kids found a new game to play with Bear dog. They would throw a ball down the hall for him to chase. He would and would go flying over the stairs. Balls are important. Worth risking your life. He never got hurt and the kids had so much fun playing with him.

Bear dog loves the balls
We played You Don't Know Jack and I actually won! That is a rare occurrence, so I had to document it. I was Bear Dog. (The kids make fun of me because my name is the first thing I see when we are signing in. Purple pencil. Red Balloon. Etc.) Preston was Gex and Mike was Five Finger.

Interviews

Preston took this picture at school. This was the Make-a-Wish closing assembly. The boy they sponsored was driving the t-shirt robot. Man, Jorja would have loved to be able to have an assembly like that! Nice things are getting back to normal though.

Mike had a dentist appointment today. I took Jorja up to Provo for her FSY interview. Stockton also had an online FSY interview. How cool would it be if they both worked there during the summer? Jorja and I went and got açaí bowls after. I have been spending my days cooking. We have put the gingerbread house pieces in a table in our room. Well, Bear got in there and ATE lots of the men and doors. He got one side of the building too. GRRRRRRR. At least it wasn't too bad. We can do without the men and doors, still.... annoying.
Matt and Sam left today. I got this message before they left. Who knew Mike came to visit? Hahaha
Stockton came home today!!! That is all...

Bear Dog

Mike and the kids love Bear dog. They love him so much that Mike's phone decided to randomly put together a Bear movie for him. Hahaha

Dragon Fan

I took Bear on a walk this morning. I had him on his leash and he did great. We walked to the top of the property near the road. There was a dog across the street barking at us. Not aggressively, but the dog started coming towards us. Bear didn't bark at all. All of a sudden I noticed a truck coming and I worried the dog would get hit. I took a few quick steps towards the road and shouted for the dog to go back. That was a bad idea because the dog just came towards me. Right as the truck came. I heard a thump, closed my eyes and screamed. I was 99% sure I would see a smashed dog in the road. Nope. The dog was over by his owner like nothing had happened. The owner asked me what the truck hit and I cried that the only thing there was the dog. It didn't look like the dog was hurt at all. I'm guessing that when the truck hit his breaks the dog got out of there. The thump was probably something from the back of the truck. It was so scary.

Mike set a zip line up for Bear. One of the rules for having pets at the lodge is they have to be on a leash at all times. Mike has always wanted to try out this zip line. We got it for the cabin, but haven't found a great place for it. Bear did great on it and it was fun watching him run around. He didn't like not being able to follow Mike as he was packing up though. Haha

Bear in front of the Moose Cabin
Maysen and I stopped in Malad on the way home. This was painted on the sidewalk in front of the pizza store. I thought it was funny. It took me awhile to realize the high school mascot is a dragon. Now that's a cool mascot! I wonder if the middle school is still Baby Kitten's like we saw in my Grandpa Parry's yearbook.
We got home just as the BYU/Idaho State game was starting. BYU dominated, as was expected. It was a nice relaxing game to watch though.

Baby Carrot

Once Preston came home from school we headed to the cabin. We left relatively quickly but needed to stop and get gas. I ran into the grocery store to get snacks while Mike was doing that. We were hoping to miss traffic. We did not. It felt like it took an extra hour to get through Salt Lake. Everything was fine after getting through that mess. Bear did not like it that I wouldn't let him ride up front. He is obsessed with Mike and wants to be as close as he can to him. I spent the first hour of the drive with my arm braced against Mike's head rest, trying to block Bear dog. Finally we pulled over and I drove. Maysen came up front and Mike got in back with Bear. Bear was happy as could be. It made for a much easier trip.

We went through Salt Lake because we wanted to stop at Matt and Sam's. I had some boxes of clothes Preston had grown out of. I also had Anne's stuffed black cat that she had been missing. We also gave them our Leapsters. I forgot to ask Maysen if she was okay with that. Those were a huge part of her childhood and Maysen is very nostalgic. Hopefully their kids will love those as much as mine did. The only picture I took while I was there was a picture of the handprints in their playroom. They looked so cute in there! The playroom looked adorable, this picture does not do it justice.

We arrived at the cabin around 10:00. Nice to be done with driving and nice to be here. I love this place!

Ducks on the Waterfall

Stockton went to a missionary farewell this morning. Jorja went to Aiden's farewell around noon. I told Jorja to make sure she said hi to my dad, since he is in Aiden's ward. Too bad he was sick and missed church. Mike, Maysen, Preston and I went to church this morning. Bear dog doesn't like being alone. He woke up Jorja with his crybaby howling. She recorded a bit of it. He didn't howl very long in this recording, but this was one hour after we left for church. Still at the door. Man that dog loves Mike.

The rest of the day was fun and relaxing. Jorja made a hot dog bar dinner with Mike. We watched ducks climb the waterfall. We watched a church movie about Africa that was pretty cool, and Jorja officially finished Step2theU. Pretty great day. Now some random pictures.
Shoes that Cori bought Jorja. The ones Stockton said looked like Jorja designed them.
