Bachelor Party at the Bungalow

I picked up Stockton at Alyssa's house in Mapleton this morning. He had taken the shuttle from Snow College to BYU. Alyssa picked him up at BYU. Stockton took his physics test while I was driving down there. He didn't do as well as he had hoped on this test, but he has enough of a cushion that he should still be able to get an A. I was telling Stockton about Glade on the way back to our house. Once he got to our house he looked at the list he had been compiling from the wedding invitation Venmo. Second name on the list was Glade Powell. He sent Stockton and Alyssa a wedding gift probably hours before he got sick. And now he is so close to dying. What a bizarre situation. I texted Heather throughout the day. I'm just going to post the thread because it will be easier than explaining. I only took screenshots of the relevant Glade information.
In happier news, Stockton went down to Logan for a bachelor party the Bungalow boys were throwing for him and Ezra. Ezra gets married three days after Stockton. Gavin went down with Stockton. Stockton was happy about that and had a great night out with the boys.

Jorja Finishes FSY

Mike spent the day sailing on the lake. Bear dog got out of the gate and tried to follow him. Mike isn't sure how he escaped. Mike was able to get him back and go sailing. Mike doesn't want to take him out on the boat when he sails alone because he is worried Bear would get scared and jump in the water. Mike wouldn't be able to leave the boat to get him. Mike did leave Bear with a big bone to occupy his time. Also, Mike found out he can officially work from Idaho if he wanted to. Even full time. Mike was happy about that.

I got a haircut today. I wish I had picked the Blue Jays for survival baseball. They won the Red Sox 27-5. Hahahaha That's nuts! The game was played in Boston. Double nuts! Jorja still felt miserable today. At 8:00 am she texted me letting me know she was feeling better except her throat hurts so bad. She has a ticket to go to Denver on Sunday and was wondering if she should change it. She looked into it. It would cost $10 to change the ticket with $120 extra dollars in fees. That is more than the original ticket cost. Around 9:00 at night Jorja called me and asked if I could pick her up. She said she felt so sick and got permission to go home. She didn't think she could drive home. So, I picked her up in Provo. Just to recap. Mike and I drove two cars down to Provo on Sunday because she wanted her car and didn't think she could drive. We left Jorja and her car there and we drove home together. Jorja didn't drive her car the entire week. I drove down today and picked her up, leaving her car there. Somehow we got to get that back. Ugh. I wish she wouldn't have insisted on having her car, but oh well. Too late now. Anyway, I got to the dorms and texted Jorja that I was there. While I was waiting for her to text me back someone came and knocked on my window. I rolled it down and they told me my tire was flat. I went and looked and sure enough it was. Great. I found Jorja. The health counselors took her temperature on the way out and it was back to 100 degrees. What a way to end her FSY experience. This was her last week. Lame way for it to end. I got Jorja in the car, made it to a gas station and was able to get air in the tire. Jorja slept most of the way home. She sure looks miserable. I can't believe how long she has been sick. Hopefully this will go away soon.
My phone made this video and Preston liked it.

Utah/Seattle/South America

Mike has been having fun with Bear dog at the cabin and getting a lot of work done. There was a data temperature issue at work and he ended up being on a call for hours, but other than that it was great. Mike found Bear's purple ball that we lost up here last time. He got the drive belt back on the giant mower. Now he needs to replace one of the big tires on it. The water level is starting to go down on Palisades, but it is still pretty up there.

Sara Henderson called me and I was able to help her and Benny with transcripts they needed so he can apply to BYU. Benny is on a mission somewhere in South America. Sara and Ray are now Mission President and Companion of the Seattle Washington Mission. Crazy that Sara is already gone. They live on Mercer Island now. I'm glad I was able to help her. Benny had his P-Day while I was helping and sent me a thumbs up picture. Haha.

Stockton is loving FSY and said this is the easiest week so far.
Jorja still feels really sick. The health coordinators say it isn't strep, she doesn't have any white spots. By 11:00 pm she said she feels a lot better. Not perfect, but better. Hopefully she is done with this!
These are actually surprisingly good.

Maysen the Editor

I got a lot of pictures from Mike today. Sounds like he is having a great time at the cabin. He has worked a lot on his boat. He added a fishing pole holder, a gear hammock and a sink drying rack. These are pictures from the last two days of work. Mike said Bear did really well on the boat and the auto pilot is so cool.

Jorja is still pretty sick. At 10:00 this morning she sent me texts about how she still feels dizzy. She's not feeling good. Her throat isn't hurting but she feels so dizzy, like she is about to pass out. The FSY people are letting her take naps during class now, even though she isn't on break. She has been going outside and sleeping on the grass. I hope she starts feeling better soon. Too bad she can't fully enjoy her last week at FSY.

Stockton texted us about he was conducting a class where the general YM president and wife were in attendance. He got to shake President Lund's hand. Stockton is really liking his group of boys this week. I'm so glad he got a great group after the rough time he had last week.

I got locked out of the house today while I was running to the mailbox. The door shut behind me and for some reason the handle doesn't work. Preston was still asleep and Maysen was on a work call. I had to hop the fence and find a way inside. Preston and I both had eye appointments later today. Nice to get that done.

Maysen is being moved to the editing team at her job. She is super excited about this. A few weeks ago they asked the content writers to turn in 3,000 words a day. Maysen was asked to try to turn in 2,000 when she was hired. Trying to get to 3,000 has been so hard for her. Mostly because she turns in quality work and it takes awhile to research about whatever topic she needs to write about. Somehow she doesn't know the banking or real estate practice in Malta at the top of her head. She has been working almost non stop during the week. From the time she wakes up until the time she goes to bed. It is just not sustainable to keep doing this. When one of the editors left Maysen reached out and asked if she could become an editor. Well, she had a training this morning and she is starting today. She is really excited about it. I think this will be a much better job for her. Hope it is!

Otto

Mike has been enjoying his time at the cabin. He installed new speakers in the boat and said that parts of the old speaker crumbled to dust as he touched them to remove them. The sound is now so much better. He also got the auto pilot mostly installed. He said it looks like Otto from Wall-E. He is excited about this because he often goes sailing alone. This way he can have Otto steer while he messes with the sails and things like that.

Jorja still feels miserable, but better than yesterday. She is wondering if she should have just dropped this contract. It's too hard when she feels this sick. She might ask if she can go home early. She doesn't feel good at all. That was all texted to me around 7:30 this morning. At 2:00 she sent me a text saying she is feeling better. Hopefully the worst is over. Obviously I still feel too anxious to go to the cabin. Although I did remember that Preston and I have an eye doctor appointment tomorrow, so it's good we didn't go yesterday. Hopefully we can go before the week is up. I went down to Sherry's house to pick up the dress she wore at Tage's wedding. She is letting me borrow it if I want. I'm still going to look for something else because it doesn't fit me exactly right, but at least I have something if I need it. Also.... Alyssa's invitation for her bridal shower came today. It looks so cute. Becky is so nice. She is always thinking of ways she can serve other people.

Sad Faces

I had work today. It was good. One of the vice principals came and talked to me about signing up for an AP workshop, so I think that means I still have my new job. I couldn't figure out how to sign up for it though. It kept saying I needed to delete things on the computer. I did not want to touch that while I was at work, so Mike helped me sign up at home.

Stockton is looking forward to this week. It is looking to be great with a smaller group and older kids. Jorja messaged me that she feels horrible. Her throat and head hurt, she is really dizzy and doesn't have energy. She thinks she is mostly jet lagged. We were planning on going to the cabin today. I told Mike I didn't feel good leaving right now when Jorja was so sick, even though she isn't at home. I didn't know if she would need to come home and I wouldn't be there. I figured she would be much better tomorrow. Mike and Bear went up today. Preston and I will hopefully be going up tomorrow. Jorja did buy a ticket to Denver to hang out with her new friend Eliza on her birthday. Jorja likes her co-counselor and he even gave her a blessing today. She says her kids are really good. She has ten girls and they are 15-16 years old. Hopefully she feels better. This is her last week of FSY.

I sent this picture to Jorja of a note I got from Mrs. Catlin a few months after we moved to Utah. Emma and Jorja were such good friends. Moving is hard.

Outdoor/Indoor Movie

What a day! Jorja took the red eye from Hawaii and arrived in Los Angeles early this morning. She finally got to Utah around 1:00 this afternoon. I picked her up from the airport. She wasn't feeling well. I told her to go sleep and I would wash her clothes. Around 5:30 I went to check on her. She hadn't wanted me to wake her up, she wanted to do it herself. She was out. I finally got her awake and asked when she had to leave. She was shocked it was 5:30. When I asked if she set an alarm she said, "So many alarms." Poor girl. She called and let them know she was coming. They told her it would be fine, just be there by 8:00. It took Jorja awhile to be ready. She felt horrible. Mike and I made her take a covid test before she left. It was negative. She assured us she would feel better in the morning, that it was just jet lag, and a little left over sickness. She felt dizzy and I didn't want her to drive. She wanted her car. Finally we agreed to take her. I drove her car and Mike drove Jorja. Yep, we spoil that girl. Anyway, hope she has a fun last week of FSY. She sure has loved it.

Jorja
The Hardys came over tonight. It was so fun. It ended up being later than anticipated because of us running Jorja to Provo. We texted them when we were on the freeway. Sherry, Matt, Miah and Xander came over. We watched Second Hand Lions. We watched the first half outside. A few people were floating in the pool. The wind picked up and it started to rain a bit. We finished the rest of the movie downstairs in the movie room. I really liked the movie. It was fun to hang out with them. They were very patient to put up with our constant change of plans.

In other news.... Stockton's wedding pants arrived today...
And Bear likes balls.

Jorja Video

Jorja's FSY girls did the cutest thing. Since Jorja was sick yesterday, they spent the entire day making Jorja a video to a song that sings about Georgia. It was adorable and Jorja absolutely loved it. They sure made her feel special. What an awesome group she had.
The kids got picked up early this morning, then Jorja and the other counselors got the rest of the day to play. The flights went out in stages. Jorja had a red eye flight with a five hour layover in Los Angeles. Long day, but I am glad she got to enjoy Hawaii.
Jorja
I messaged her that she should go to Aloha Crepes while she was there. That was our favorite place to eat when we went years ago. She sent me this. That's disappointing.
Jorja in Hawaii
Stockton is so glad to be done with this week. He spent the day with Alyssa. The plan was to knock out a lot of physics, but for some reason the physics portal was down. That's frustrating. Hopefully he will get time to work on it this week. He has a test next Saturday. On the bright side, he got a relaxing Saturday after his rough week in Ephraim.

Bear at the Park

Mike and I took Bear on a walk to the park by the church. It started raining on us, but Bear loved it. He loves being with Mike 100% of the time. It's so funny.
Jorja got her flight info to come home from Hawaii. Looks like she will be taking the red-eye Saturday night and will get here Sunday around noon. She has a five hour layover in Los Angeles. At least she will get to have a free Saturday to play. The turn around to get to Provo will be tight though! Jorja texted me this morning and said she had a 100 degree fever. She took some Tylenol and felt fine the rest of the day, but she wasn't allowed to be with the kids at all. She was pretty sad about that. She has absolutely loved this week and loved this group of kids. As good as Jorja's kids have been has been the exact opposite for Stockton. His kids have been HARD this week. I think he is looking forward to tomorrow and hoping for an easier week next week.

Barn Weddings and Tree Carvings

Today I officially applied for the job that I was already hired for. Still a bit nervous though. Anything can happen. I worked today and the vice principal that offered me the job came and asked me to apply for it. I did that as soon as I got home. Mike and I then went to Thomas Mogenson's wedding. It was at Wheeler Farm. It was beautiful. Although Aimee (Thomas' mom) told me that the wedding was in Cedar City and then they had to hurry back and decorate the barn. They hung all of the lights. Wow. They did such a great job. It was funny, the blindfolded Thomas and Tamara and played a little question game with them. It was pretty funny. The weather outside was perfect. Such a fun night.

Jorja ~ still LOVING Hawaii
Thomas & Tamara's wedding
Right outside the barn they had all these tree stumps carved. They looked amazing! I pointed out one that had an eagle on it and told Mike it looked like that guy that does the carvings at Steve and Sharon's lodge. Sure enough, same guy. (The eagle carving, not all of them.)

Photo Dump

I worked today and Mike and I booked a hotel tonight. We booked a hotel in American Fork the night before the wedding. Mike and Stockton have to be at the temple at 6:00 am. Maysen, Jorja and I need to be there at 6:30 am. I also don't want to make Preston get to the temple at 6:30 just to wait outside. The hotel is 8 minutes away from the temple. Right after the wedding we can go and pick Preston up and bring him back for pictures. I think this will work great. In other news... Jorja sent me a lot of no context pictures. Sure looks like she is having a blast though!

Jorja
Mike took this picture of us playing with Bear dog. Mike and I were holding the orange bone, along with Bear. We lifted his front paws off the ground. Preston came from behind and did wheelbarrow. Bear was floating in air. I don't think he really enjoyed it though.

Stockton looks like he is having fun at Snow, even though the kids are nuts!
