Dalia with the Girls

I took the girls to lunch at Dalia Crepes. Such a fun place! Jorja and I shared our crepes. She got a sweet and I got a savory. Perfect way to do it!

Jorja went to Logan to hang out with her friends. Hannah and Emily are going on their missions the same time as Jorja. Here are a lot of pictures. Lots from today, but I think some of these are from her ambassador retreat last week.

This one definitely looks like the ambassador retreat. You can see Stockton's friend Bridger in the white shirt.

It's Raining

Jorja came home from retreat today. I sure love having her home and I'm going to miss her when she is in Hong Kong. I love all the adventures she is having and will continue to have. That girl sure reaches for the stars. I love watching everything she accomplishes. Also, I saw this meme about acceptance and I loved it.

75 Years Old

Today was my mom's birthday. She would have been 75 years old. Crazy. I can't even imagine. I worked today, but my dad and I went to lunch at Zao's. I had book club tonight at Becky Johnson's house. That was a fun way to end the day. It looks like Jorja has been having a lot of fun at her ambassador retreat. She won't be here next year along with a few other people that are going on missions. When the ambassadors have their classes, Jorja and these future missionaries get to hang out. I think she has really enjoyed that.

Two Drives

Preston had signed up to do a road drive today. Around noon he texted me and said no one had signed up so he thought it would be canceled. I told him to go anyway, just in case. I walked over to talk to Mr. Brown, his office is Paula's old office. He took me to see Mr. Barker, which is right outside the counseling office. Mr. Barker wasn't in a class, so I was able to talk to him. He asked me if Preston could sign up for tomorrow. I texted Preston and asked him. Preston texted back and asked if someone had dropped their spot. Mr. Barker looked it up and was surprised to see he had a full car tomorrow. He thought they must have just signed up that morning. I asked Mr. Barker if it would be okay if I rode in the car. He said it would. Woohoo! I rode in the back of the car for an hour and a half while Preston did BOTH the drives he had left. Since no one was with us Mr. Barker let Preston do two drives. The first one was a canyon drive and the second one was a preview of the driving test. That saved Preston a lot of time. Now all he has left is his road test and he is done. Mr. Barker was awesome because when Preston was doing the preview he would tell Preston how much everything was worth and what where points would be taken off. Ten miles over the speed limit is an automatic fail. He has to look over his shoulder when a lane appears or doing the three point turn or he loses two points. Mr. Barker was awesome.

Jorja had her ambassador retreat in Bear Lake today. I'm not sure all that went on, but I stole some pictures from her phone.

Elon Dusk

Jorja and Hannah did a presentation at USULC. It was a 30 minute presentation and they had to do it 6 times. They were assigned the topic of diversity, which Jorja thought was hilarious since they are two white girls. They made the presentation more about including people that have different personalities than you. The theme of the week is space. They were Elon Musk and Elon Dusk, or something like that. I wish I could have seen her. She is dynamic as a presenter.

Small Shirt

I went downstairs to get church clothes for Preston and saw Stockton's two white shirts on the bed. What the... I texted Stockton and asked if he brought church clothes. He answered that he accidentally brought Preston's old church shirt. Whoops. Luckily his roommate had a shirt he could borrow.
Stockton
Jorja left to USULC today. Her roommate is Hannah, so she should like that! I hope she has a great week. She has loved USULC so much. What a great program. Lucky Jorja can be involved as a counselor now. USULC is Utah State University Leadership Camp. It is the camp that high school student government goes to. Jorja was only able to go once, but absolutely loved it. Junior year she couldn't go because she was in Taiwan and senior year covid cancelled it. Anyway, now that she is an ambassador she gets to be a counselor here. What a lucky girl.

Jorja Visits Alta

Jorja came to school today! I worked today too. Usually I'm just doing computer work, but today Paula (the registrar) was calling down students who hadn't turned in their course request sheet. I was helping them enter them into the computer when they got there. Jorja needed help getting into the field house. That was the room Ms. Astle reserved for her. I found a vice principal to unlock it. I helped Jorja for a bit and then hurried out to go back to what I needed to do. I checked the door as I left and it was locked. Whoops. Jorja came down and put a rock and a chair in the doors to hold them open. Jorja brought down two gigantic things of Aggie Ice Cream. She didn't this ended up being helpful for most of the students, but there were several who it really helped. Jorja has now officially completed all four of her Alta high school visits.
Jorja
Jorja ran the ice cream back to our house and then came back to school to pick me up. We went to lunch at Vessel Kitchen. Jorja talked to Shay for a long time and also took Paige out to Swig during her lunch. She headed back to Logan before I got home from work. That's okay, I'll see her tomorrow.

Bloke

Jorja has been in contact with one of the counselors at Alta trying to pull together a Utah State thing. She has made invitations and wants the advisory teachers to hand them out. She asked the counselor if she could get a list of students names who have been accepted to Utah State. They didn't have that information, so Jorja got it from Utah State. She asked if I could look up the advisory teachers, luckily I knew how to do that. She made about 100 invitations. She is going to mail them to me and I need to get them out next week. Hopefully I do a good job.
Matt and Sam are at the cabin. Kaylee left her baby at our house last time they were down here. I brought it up to the cabin and left it on the dresser in the lava room. Matt and Sam found Kaylee like this. On top of the dresser holding her baby. Hahaha. I should have known she would climb up there!
Kaylee
Mike and I went to this candy store in the mall and got some things to use as prices for the dance tomorrow night. We also stopped by Zurchers to get a thing that will make the disco ball turn. Mike spent a lot of time tonight working on a trivia game. Sure will be nice when this dance is over!!!
I was proud of figuring out the Wordle with only having this information

Freak

Jorja asked for a picture of the outside of Maysen's car. Here it is!
I taught my lesson today. It went really well. There were only three kids there though because of fall break. Next time I teach is right before Thanksgiving. We'll see.....

Stockton and Jorja both made it back to Logan. Mike and Bear went up to the cabin. Mike said Jorja and her friends did a great job of cleaning up. There was only one window left open. Mike is planning on doing some projects at the cabin the next few days.
Jorja and friend on the drive home
Mike did text Jorja this picture to say someone left him a jacket at the cabin
Jorja was there with a lot of Utah State ambassadors and they all have that jacket. Jorja texted, 'Oh no is there a name tag in the pocket?' Mike then sent this picture.
Jorja then texted, 'Freak' Hahaha That made me laugh. Although Jorja needs the name tag on Tuesday for their trip to Lehi. Mike and Jorja have now made plans to meet in Soda Springs early in the morning. They have to leave at 6:30. As I was tucking Preston into bed he asked if I could get him up an hour and a half early so he could study his Chinese. What? That would be at 4:30 in the morning. I asked him multiple times this weekend about homework. I guess Preston didn't consider a verbal quiz homework. I told him I would get him up at 5:00, but not earlier. Looks like Mike and I will both getting up early.
