BYU vs Wyoming

Stockton called me this morning and asked if I wanted two tickets to the BYU football game today. Yes I did! I got my dad to go with me and it was so much fun. Alyssa's dad has legacy seats and they were amazing! Jorja texted me during the game and she sounds so much better. Crazy to be so close to her and unable to see her. I told her I was waving to her from the football stadium. BYU played Wyoming and it was a closer game than I would have liked, but they still won. Puka Nacua played and he was awesome! He made a great catch right in front of us! He has been injured since the first game this season, so I was excited when we saw him come out. The weather was perfect for today too. Glad Stockton thought of me and glad Alyssa's dad was happy to give us the tickets! It was a great night!

Sam McGee

Matt Hardy's dad died on Friday. Today was his viewing. Mike and I met Steve and Shannon at Larkin. My dad was there too. Dad came to our house after the viewing. He wanted me to record him telling the story of Sam McGee. My dad has so many long poems memorized. I have heard him tell The Cremation of Sam McGee lots. Glad I have it on video, even though it took me the entire day to upload. Seriously. My dad gave this to all of his kids as part of our Christmas present.

The Cremation of Sam McGee as told by my dad.

Side note. Jorja sent me a picture of the kid that won her calendar at the ambassador white elephant party. Hahaha. Hope he likes it! Look at that cute cooking Porge. I love her.

Nice Job Maysen!

Stockton sent us a picture to our family group chat. He has been learning a LaTex program for math. This does not look fun. Stockton seems to love it though.
I went to my Dad's religion class tonight. He is teaching about the restoration proclamation. He is going through it sentence by sentence. I was shocked to learn that my dad didn't know what a manger was though. Haha. (He didn't know a manger was a feeding trough.) He explained that he thought the manger was the entire stable. That makes more sense then thinking there was a cradle with hay just waiting there, just because.
Dad
I stopped by Harmon's on the way home. While I was there Maysen texted me to let me know she got the job! Woohoo! I'm so excited for her! I think this is a perfect job for her. I went straight to the flower section and got her cute congratulations flowers. Wish I would have taken a picture of those. So excited for Maysen!

Happy 78th Birthday Dad!

Mike, Maysen and I took my dad out to breakfast. We went to Dali Crepes. A delicious crepe place Jorja told us about. I decided to get a breakfast crepe. It was good, but I liked the raspberry and chicken crepes I got last time better. My dad got the raspberry one. I yummy choice!

Birthday Dad
Maysen loves how pretty the food is. Look at this hot chocolate!
My cousin Terry sent me this picture. Apparently the cabin next to ours is up for sale. It is super expensive though! How cool would it be if someone from our family would buy it! Hahahaha
I spent a long time cleaning out my closet. I got rid of a bunch of stuff, but I still have a lot! Especially since I started adding some of Javita's clothes. It took a long time.
Maysen and I went to a fireside with Elder Renlund and Vai Sikahema and their wives. It was really good. After we went to Sonic. We sent this picture to Mike and Preston after they sent these pictures to us.
While we were at our fireside, Mike took Preston to the Brazilian restaurant. He has been wanting to go here for a long time and was sad we went without him for our anniversary a few days ago. Mike said he was so cute. He loved it.
Preston

After Maysen and I had our sandwiches at Sonic, we decided to get ice cream at Handles. I was waiting to pay and the cashier went to help the people behind me instead for some reason. They pointed at us and then said, "It's okay, Stephanie will pay for us." What? I turned around to see who was there. It was Jaime Miller! Holy cow! I haven't seen her forever! She was there with her husband Michael Jordan. Hahaha. They live really close to us and their kids go to Alta. Jorja knew her husband's boy. Kind of cool.

Other cool things that happened today. BYU was officially invited to the Big 12! Woohoo! My brothers were all texting about it when we were at breakfast with my dad. We are all excited about this! Jorja also gave her first tour at Utah State today. She said it went well. Maysen was also contacted by a company called Diib that asked if they could interview her for a job. What a great day!

Feels Like Georgia

I got Preston off to school this morning. He has been great at getting up at 6:00 and taking a shower every morning. Considering the last year he stayed in his pajamas and showered a couple times a week this is amazing. Haha. I hurried to the store and bought sunscreen for Jorja. I got home right as she was leaving. Shelby was already there. They are going up to Bear Lake for an ambassador retreat. I'm excited for her. I think she will love it. Today felt like Georgia. I was so lucky to be able to go with Janet and Teresa to breakfast. Janet was in town from Georgia because of Tracy's 40th high school reunion up in Idaho. She stayed for education week. I found out that on Friday Tracy and Janet were jet skiing at Palisade Reservoir. Ahhhh! How funny would it have been if we happened to run into them up there? Teresa was in town from Texas because she drove Weston up to BYU. Anyway, the stars aligned perfectly and we were able to have breakfast together in Orem. On Janet's birthday. How cool is that? The other reason it felt like Georgia was because it rained like it does in Georgia. It was pouring buckets and buckets. I drove so slow and was nervous for Jorja. Luckily she and Shelby made it there just fine. I did love listening to the rain all day though.

We were talking about how Teresa keeps going lighter and lighter with her hair. I told them that Jorja kept going darker and darker. I texted Jorja and asked her to send me a picture. I got these back. Haha. Love that girl!
Jorja
Teresa is going to help Payton and Kinsie move into their new apartment later today. Their apartment is attached to the place we ate breakfast. TruReligion. Kind of fun!
Mike and Stockton made dinner today. They made omelets in the waffle iron. I just had a lazy rest of the day. Today would have been my mom's 74th birthday. It's crazy that her mom lived 43 years longer than she did. I'm jealous. My dad sent us a message on our family group chat. I loved it. I sure do miss her.

ID card

I took Stockton to the dentist bright and early this morning. His teeth are great. We stopped by OPH on the way back to have crepes and pancakes. Delicious. I then took my dad to the airport. He is going to spend a week in Kirtland, Ohio. He's pretty excited because he is just a person in the tour and not leading it. Karl Anderson is the guide, who President Hinckley called "Mr. Kirtland." Patty called my dad up. She had someone cancel late and wasn't able to give him a refund. He said not to worry about it and to let someone else go, so she called my dad. He's pretty excited about it. He looked great when I picked him up. He didn't look sick at all. I'm pretty sure he had what I had the other day. He was still waiting for his covid results. He took the test on Saturday and told them he was flying Monday morning. Don't worry, the results came back negative. He should have a fun week.

I took Preston to school today to get his ID card. Today was the day for freshman to get their pictures. No one was there when we arrived, so we didn't need to wait in a line. On the way out I snapped pictures from the new wall outside the office. Jorja's senior SBO picture is still there. That won't be replaced until the new pictures come around November. All the SBOs have their pictures framed in a hallway. They ran out of room awhile ago. I was wondering where Jorja's picture would be put. Right now it is front and center in the new hallway. Hope it stays there! At least Preston can say hello to her if he wants. He won't, but I will when I go to parent/teacher conferences and what not.

Jorja's senior SBO picture. Of course the glare is on Jorja's face haha
SBO wall ~ I never thought about 2020 SBOs not getting to have the fancy dress/tux picture
Those pictures now are taken at inauguration, so I guess it makes sense. Jorja didn't get an inauguration last year.
Student government wall ~ don't know why 2017 is missing
Oh glare you are annoying
Preston's card. Not blurry in real life. What a cute kid!
I took Preston to Firehouse Subs. I wasn't too hungry because I had eaten with Stockton, but I knew it would be awhile before we had dinner. I decided to get a chicken and dumpling soup and a water. The soup was HOT. No worries. I thought I would take a few sips and eat the rest at home. After Preston had already eaten half of his sandwich I had a small spoonful after blowing on it. I was able to choke down three spoonfuls that way. Well, almost three. It was so hot that it made me throw-up. I started laughing and realized I was throwing up. I spit into my water cup, but I couldn't stop. It was so embarrassing. No way was I going to try that soup at home, I threw the rest away. I knew I wasn't sick so Preston and I headed to the mall to get some new shoes. He picked out some blue checkered Vans. They are cute. I felt drained for the rest of the day.

Teacher Matt

Matt and Sam left today. They were going to stay until Thursday, but Sam's aunt died a few days ago and her funeral is tomorrow. I helped Matt take down his teaching area. He ended up setting things up in Mike's workshop.
Jorja had a large stack of clothes for Marie to look through. Marie was in heaven! She was so excited. She found lots of things she liked. My favorite were the pants she tried on first. Marie wasn't sure about the rips, but once she tried them on she said they were so comfortable. She looks adorable in them. I snapped a few pictures to send to Jorja while she was at work.

Rachel was going to leave at 11:00 to see her cousin and stay at her brothers house. She was planning on coming back and seeing us tomorrow. Well, her cousin called. Her kids were going to camp and needed negative covid tests. Too bad one of them tested positive. So.... we got Rachel! I ended up calling my dad to see if he wanted to come up here as soon as he could to go swimming. He brought Cathy, Max and pizza with him. I had to leave to take Preston to the orthodontist, but I snapped this picture on my way out.

Preston and I hurried back, but only Grace was left in the pool. Rachel was out there watching her. Only for a few minutes though. Rachel got all the girls bathed and then headed out to her brothers house. She is not planning on stopping by tomorrow. As much as I would love her to, I think that is the better move. Less driving. She is hoping to be in Rock Springs Wyoming by 4:00 I think. She is very brave to drive across the country by herself with four little girls. I'm glad she does it though!
