Sad day today. Donovan Mitchell was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. I'll miss cheering for him on the Jazz. He was fun to watch, especially at the beginning of his career. The Jazz got a lot of people and picks for him. Hopefully I will end up liking them.
I put in grades for Step to the U today at work. I was totally annoyed. Only ONE person got an A in Comm 1270. WHAT? At least two students lost their 4.0s over it. These kids spent all summer in school. They had to go up to the University of Utah campus in Salt Lake. I doubt that only one kid in that class deserved an A. I am so annoyed for these kids.
Cori tested positive for Covid today. I'm not sure if Scoop did too. I hope they get feeling better quickly. I went to Brookers with the family and Maysen bought a computer. Hope she likes it!

Jorja took Paige to lunch. Paige is two years younger than Jorja, but they have loved hanging out with each other. Paige is the Financial Chair this year, just like Jorja was.

Jorja found out her p-day will be on Monday. She got her MTC schedule and pictures of her companions and of her district. She will be in a trio. Her companions will be Sister Gazdik and Sister Xiong. Ahhhhh! Getting closer!
Jorja hung out with an EFY friend, Eliza, in Provo tonight. They went and got churros. She said they were delicious!
These pictures didn't upload in the correct order, but Mike took me to a Jazz game. We were able to watch it in a suite. Next to the Smiths suite. Haha. I texted Heather a picture and asked if she was there. She comes with her husband quite a bit. She said she wasn't but I should see if my cousin Terry was there. He has half season tickets. I had no idea. Terry was there! He wasn't too far from me. I went down and talked with him. He has great seats. They come down from Idaho Falls quite often to go to the games. Wow. It was super fun to see him though.

The BYU/Oregon game was being played at the same time. Oregon was ranked 12th. Well, BYU demolished them. It was crazy! So fun watching both games. Mike thought it was hilarious.

The games tonight were super fun. Jazz win. BYU blowout. Jorja was asked if she wanted to have a part time job being a princess at little kids birthday parties. Haha. We will see if anything happens with that. Funny though.
Mike and I were lucky enough to go to the Jazz season opener. A company that wants to do business with Overstock contacted Mike to see if he would want tickets to the game in a suite. I was super excited. Mike and I have been to games in a suite before and it is amazing. Well, turns out there are different suites. This one was in the nose bleed section. It was as high as you could get. It didn't have it's private bathroom, but it did still have a section were you could mingle and eat food. The Harry Potter dessert cart didn't come by though. I actually thought it was awesome. I love how companies can still provide almost the same experience even if they can't afford a giant box. The tickets were free to us so it was still great!
I was annoyed though. I had been looking forward to the Jazz honoring Derrick Favors. This was his first time back since being traded to Oklahoma City. I didn't know if they would honor him, but I hoped they would. After the first quarter I snuck out to go to the bathroom. It was down the hall. As I was leaving the Jazz Bear flew past me on a Segway. Haha. Anyway, when I got back Mike said they did an entire video montage about Derrick Favors. The camera panned down to him and he waved while the crowd went nuts. I was sad to miss that. At least the Jazz won today though! It was a fun night.
Jorja came home tonight. She has an eye appointment tomorrow. She will have to miss her Chinese class, which is too bad. At least her other classes she can do on zoom, even the in person public speaking one. I was glad she made it home safely. It is always nice when I know my babies are safe.
Mike did a lot of work at the cabin today. He rented a bobcat thing to help him. Mike wanted a better place to park his boat and is hoping to extend the roof so it will be more protected from the snow. He had a successful day. I'm glad he didn't get hurt, especially since he was the only one there.

Stockton was asked to teach diving next week. Jonny called him last night and asked if he could also teach today. Stockton was barely able to fit it in. There were 90 kids there. It was a free day, but that just stressed Stockton out. One 9 year old girl ran on the 3 meter and almost fell off. When Stockton told me I thought she almost fell off into the pool. Nope, she almost fell off onto the concrete. Scary!
Stockton came home from diving, packed up super quick and hopped in the car. I drove him to Rasin' Canes. It is in South Jordan by Daybreak. It opened up a few weeks ago. This was a fun plan because he was meeting some mission buddies to go to St. George for another mission buddy's homecoming. Rasin' Canes was a place they would go to all the time in Arizona. Well, this wasn't the best plan. I took Stockton in the jeep. It was HOT. There were so many people trying to go to Canes that police were directing traffic. It took us 30 minutes to get into the parking lot. We were dripping sweat. I let Stockton out so he could find his friends. One of them had already gotten food. They were waiting for the other one. The one who wasn't here was the driver. I parked in Warren's parking lot, but I had Stockton's suitcase. It was so hot I went inside and sat down. I was hoping they had Apple Pay. They did not. I had a check book, they didn't take checks. I left my debit card in the pilot. Mike had that up in Idaho. I lost my credit card a bit ago. I sat inside for about 20 minutes when a worker came and asked if I was going to order anything. I told him I didn't have any money but I had to wait for my boy and it was so hot outside. I was worried he was going to ask me to leave, instead he asked if I would like a water cup. I was so happy! Stockton came a few minutes later. He picked up his suitcases, said goodbye and I headed home.
Stockton made it to St. George around 7:00. He is staying at Scoop and Cori's place. Cori drove down to get things set up for him. Super nice. She bought them tons of food and took them out to dinner at a Mexican place. She left at 11:45 and drove back to South Jordan. She got to their house there at 3:00 in the morning. Yikes!
I was so disappointed to watch the Jazz lose Game 6 and get kicked out of the playoffs. Especially since they were up by 22 at halftime. Conley played, but it was obvious he was still pretty injured. Mitchell didn't look the same. He was great, but definitely hobbled. The Jazz had such a magical year, too bad those injuries at the end of the season had to happen. It's so sad because it really felt like this was the year the Jazz could finally win a championship. I hope Conley comes back. I hope Mitchell stays. Mitchell will stay this year, but I hope he always stays with the Jazz. That's a lot to hope for nowadays. I hope next year will be another magical season with a better ending.
I spent the day alone. I got lots done, so it wasn't too bad. Mike spent the morning on the lake with the kids. He was in his sailboat while they were on the jetski. I think the kids liked having a spot on the lake to rest. Maysen did the kneeboard and then they spent the rest of the time tubing. Mike fixed the dog fence, so Bear had access to the inside and outside of the cabin while they were gone. Bear found a new treat spot. When they came home Mike found a loaf of bread, a bag of sour patch watermelon and a bag of Swedish fish. I wonder how sick Bear is going to be. Mike spent some time cutting down trees so he would have a better way to park the boat. It's not finished yet, but it's a good start. On the way to the hardware store Mike was being a truck that was painting lines in the road. He ended up being behind them on the way back too. Talk about luck!

Jorja has had a blast at Utah State Leadership Camp. She has absolutely loved it. I don't know who any of these people are though. She did text me today that she needs to be picked up at 8:00 tomorrow instead of Thursday morning. Welp, we will have to reschedule our bishop appointment. Mike took care of that and got it for next week.

The different schools are given a theme and song and have to make up a dance to perform at this conference. The ambassadors did one too. You can hear how much the kids adored them. How fun!
The best part of my dad was watching Jazz win game 1 against the Clippers. It was awesome! Conley is still out which puts Jazz at a major disadvantage. Gobert had a monster block to win the game. Amazing!
Jorja left early this morning to say goodbye to Dawson. He was a student body officer with her. He is entering the military on Sunday, which is also his birthday. Crazy way to spend a birthday!

Stockton had a meeting with his academic advisor over zoom. It went well. She cleared him to go into calculus. She told him he could go into calculus 2 if he wanted. Stockton hasn't done calculus in about five years so he is going to stick with calculus 1. Too bad the classes are all full. I helped him get on the waiting list of every class. Hopefully one will open up. He is registered for an online class, but some things are better in person. Stockton was surprised to see him zoom name was still the same thing it was set to for Preston's Among Us activity. So, when Stockton met with his advisor he had the name "Amongus Sussus" Hahaha

When Jorja got to Lake Powell she asked me to order her some more graduation announcements. She hadn't ordered enough. Well, she didn't save them either so I had to recreate them. I did this while watching the Jazz win game 5 against the Memphis Grizzlies. Jazz are moving on to round 2!
Today was a GREAT day! I got a call from Shelby at Utah State. She asked if Jorja was home. I told her she wasn't, she was at school. Shelby said, "Great! I actually wanted to talk to you. We would like to offer Jorja a spot in our ambassador program." WHAT??? I was so excited! Over 600 people applied, they offered this to 24 people, and Jorja is one of them! This will give her a four year full tuition scholarship. This is the same as the presidential scholarship Maysen and Stockton received for their grades. I am so happy for her! Jorja complains that she isn't smart, which isn't true. It is so hard to walk in Maysen and Stockton's footsteps. But look at Jorja! I'm so proud of her! Shelby told me that they were going to overnight a box for me. We were supposed to hide the box and record Jorja finding it. It has been soooo hard keeping this secret! Our entire family knows except Jorja. We are beyond thrilled for her!
I checked Jorja out of school and took her and Maysen to a dermatologist appointment. We stopped by Fashion Place Mall on the way back. Jorja needed to pick up something. Maysen waited in the car. We hurried and stopped by Dillards to look at prom dresses. Jorja didn't see anything she loved. She was talking to me about how much she wanted the ambassador scholarship. She is also a finalist for the SUU ambassador program. I'm not sure if that one comes with a scholarship. She is supposed to go down to SUU this weekend for the final interviews. It's an overnight thing. She needs a covid test to go down there. Jorja asked if she still needed one because she should have an immunity right now. They said she did. Jorja is worried about taking the test because if any covid lingers in her system it would show positive right now. She doesn't want to be quarantined again. Things have been so crazy this last year we just don't know what would happen. Jorja said she doesn't even want to go because she is really hoping to get the Utah State scholarship. Ahhhhh!!!! So hard to keep this a secret, but I did!!! I'm so excited for her!

I have had parent/teacher conferences the last two days. Things are weird with online school and a few things fell through the cracks with Preston, but he has enough time to fix it. All is well with Jorja.

The Jazz season has been so fun. Yesterday they played the Charlotte Hornets. The game was close with the Jazz up by 1 at the start of the 4th quarter. The Jazz ended up scoring 41 points in the 4th to win the game 110-132. I thought this tweet by Jonny Linehan was so funny. Also... loving the standings right now.
First, Jorja felt good enough to clean her room today. Progress! Second, there is a lot of snow at the cabin. Third, it is so fun being a Jazz fan right now!

I found another picture from last night on Jorja's phone. Dessa and Jorja were supposed to hang out after school. Dessa called Jorja. She can't because she is now quarantined. Jorja hung out with Gabby instead. Her plan was to do something with Gabby then go work on her math with some people. She texted me, "I just dropped Gabby off. Idk if we're doing the math thing but I'm gonna play black ops with some of the boys and we'll see if the math thing happens lol. I'll be home at 5:30 to cook dinner for 6:30 if that's okay!!!" I texted right back, "How about you come home, you don't need to play black ops." Instantly Jorja texted, "Can I go to the math thing? I'm not sure who is there but I think they're meeting at ellas in just a little bit." Works for me. I wrote back, "Math thing okay, black ops no." I just thought it was super funny that she didn't know if the math thing was happening until I told her no for black ops. At least she didn't fight me on it though. When Jorja came home she made tacos for dinner, then went down to finish her math. I walked into her bedroom and she was FaceTiming Riley. They were working on their math together. Jorja said, "Look! It's my mom" and she pointed the camera towards me. I saw it was Riley and gave him a thumbs down. That made him sad. Oh well. Gotta learn how important it is for the girls mom to like you... Anyway, in horrible/awful news... Jazz lost game 7 to the Nuggets. Conley shot a last second three for the win. The ball went in and out. Season is over. So sad.
