Super Bowl Sunday

Stockton and Jorja didn't appreciate me trying to take a picture of them before church. I have not been able to get a good picture of Stockton since he cut his hair!
Stockton
Jorja is in the process of saying, "Stoooooooop". Ha, that looks like stoop when I put too many os.
Stockton came to my gospel essentials class for the first time. I asked him to explain what he knew about the pre-existence. Oh. My. Gosh. He had the entire class laughing. That kid is a story teller. Brother Henderson asked if he was in drama. My favorite was when he was talking about Heavenly Father and Jesus talking about their plan when Lucifer yells from the middle of the crowd, "You suck!" Unlike my children, I am a horrible writer and can't explain this very well, but it was so funny. Also a Goldbergs reference. Anyway, the lesson went well. I was thrilled because I got Ian to come to my class. He always skips out after sacrament meeting. I was begging him to come to my class. He was walking with me on the way out. Little did he know that it was also the way to my classroom. I then started the class by saying, "Today's lesson is on Freedom to Choose." Ian started laughing and called me a hypocrite. It was funny. Stockton also went to Elders Quorum with Mike today. I think he liked it. I know Mike did. I can't believe he is eighteen!

My family came over for the Super Bowl today. My dad brought chili and I made cornbread. Luckily Sam texted me last night to ask if it was dairy free. I almost forgot about that! I just needed to use almond milk to make it work for Anne. It was yummy. I hope she liked it. Gayle came over too. Jorja was playing the piano, which led us to talk about Grandma's organ. Gayle wanted to give it away awhile ago. She still has it and said we can have it. I have no idea where to put it, but Jorja is thrilled with the idea.

This year's Super Bowl was awesome! It was a great game from start to finish. I didn't really have a preference, so I cheered for both teams. I did cheer extra hard for Van Noy. Mike and Stockton came in to watch the last two minutes. Mike says that is enough football for him. Luckily I have my brothers, dad, and Gayle who watched it with me.

Before Matt and Sam left I tried to get a picture of Greg. He reminds me so much of John's Brandon. I couldn't get a great picture, but he looks and moves just like him.
Greg
Greg did not like me taking his binky out to get this picture.
Gayle started feeling really dizzy as she was leaving. My dad drove her home. I followed him so I could bring my dad back. Gayle gave me the key to the storage unit where the organ is. Hopefully it isn't too hard to get it here. Even more hopefully, I hope Gayle is okay and starts feeling better.

Coin Toss

Jorja painted my nails today. Look at that crazy unicorn! This picture is actually a few days old. Starting to come off on my thumb, but holding strong everywhere else. We got so wrapped up in this that I missed choir practice. Stockton was so disappointed. My primary girls love to look at my nails, so I'm going to try and have Jorja paint them every few weeks. I know Super Bowl and unicorns don't match, but I thought my girls would love the unicorn and I wanted Super Bowl ones. Wouldn't it be amazing if there was a professional sports team with a unicorn as their mascot?
My family came over for the Super Bowl. We had it on downstairs and in the piano room. Matt and Sam worked on a quilt for Gregory during the game.
Matt
I was rooting for the Falcons. I would be okay with the Patriots winning if Kyle Van Noy made the difference. I thought that would be amazing. The first three quarters were great. Then the Patriots came storming back and took the game into overtime. There is way too much importance on a coin toss. The Patriots won the toss (they also got to call it) and scored a touchdown. That ended the game without even giving the Falcons a chance. The Falcons quarterback is this years NFL MVP, yet he didn't even get a chance to match it. The Falcons could have had the same outcome if they won the coin toss. Way too much importance on that thing. I also didn't understand how come the Patriots got to call the coin toss at the beginning of the game and in overtime. Sad for my Georgia friends.

Again

Maysen has been working on a scholarship application.  It would be an amazing scholarship if she was awarded it.  This is what I chose to fast about today.  Maysen chose this as well.  I mentioned to her she should also include as part of her fast help to know who to ask to do the recommends.  (Not sure that last sentence completely made sense.....) Anyways, in Gospel Doctrine she mentioned to me she wanted to ask Brother Kimball to give her a recommend.  I was surprised because he hadn't crossed my mind at all.  He did teach Maysen in Sunday School for almost four years.  I thought he would be a fantastic choice. Maysen talked to Brother Kimball at church and then we went over to drop off the documents after church.  We talked to him and his wife for awhile. On the way home I mentioned to Maysen about what a good idea that was and I was glad she thought to ask him.  Maysen said she was glad I encouraged her to add that as part of her fast because she felt inspired to ask him.  I don't know whether Maysen will get this amazing scholarship or not, but I am glad she has had such a positive experience working on it so far.

My family came over today for dinner and the Super Bowl.  My dad made delicious Hawaiian haystacks.  I did not do go on the 'no sugar' as I ate lots of things.  Mostly the haystacks and Sam's rice krispie treats. We watched the first half of the super bowl and recorded the rest for later.  Bubs and my dad went home during halftime.  We played a game of Risk Legacy.  Usually the games are quick, but this one took awhile. The Super Bowl actually was over before our game ended.  Whoops.  I won the game, so it was worth it.  Matt, Sam and I then watched the rest of the Super Bowl.  I was rooting for the Broncos, so I enjoyed the game.  We watched Peyton Manning's interview afterwords. When he was asked if he was going to retire he said something like, "I'm not thinking of that now.  I just want to hug my wife and my kids and drink a Budweiser."  Sam and I looked at each other and said, "What happened to I'm going to Disneyland?"

At some time during the day when my family was here I was looking for Stockton.  I found him laying on his bed. . . which was now broken . . . again.  I asked him what happened?  Was he jumping on the bed?  No. Was he bouncing on the bed?  No.  What happened?  Stockton said he came in the room and heroically dove for his water bottle and when he landed the bed broke.  BOO!!!  Stockton slept on it like this tonight.  I wonder how long he will do that before Mike gets a chance to fix it with him.  We are incredibly busy this next week, so it might be awhile.  I'll have to ask him if he is sore in the morning.
Stockton's unmade broken bed
I totally forgot to write about the coolest thing that happened on Sunday.  Serves me write for being a day behind.  Anyway, Stockton was ordained a priest on Sunday.  My dad came and met us outside the bishop's office at the end of our meeting block.  It is going to be really weird listening to Stockton bless the sacrament, but I'm excited for him.  He was scheduled to do it next week, but we will be at the cabin so Stockton will need to wait one more week for this.  Life is moving so fast!

Stockton the Teacher

Stockton was ordained to be a Teacher today.  We met the last fifteen minutes of church.  My dad and Cathy were there.  Scoop and Cori also came.  It was short and sweet and perfect.

My dad and Cathy came straight to my house.  We had a family dinner/Super Bowl party.  My dad brought Sloppy Joes (which always makes Matt happy....and John....but John wasn't there...) We had a lot of unhealthy/delicious food to snack on.

I LOVED the game!  (Sam did not!)  I know a lot of people said the game was boring, but if you wanted the Seahawks to win it was so much fun to watch!  Stockton said, "You never get to experience games like this because you always cheer for BYU."  Haha!

Pretty fun day, even though we didn't get a chance to watch Groundhog Day.

Fancy

Preston wanted me to take a picture of him before church.  He said he looked 'fancy'.  He was so proud!  I guess I should dress him nice more often.
Preston
We had Bubs family, Matt and Sam and my dad over to watch the super bowl today.  It was a lot of fun.  The game went pretty late so we weren't able to play the game Stockton wanted us to play.  He got telestrations for his birthday.  He loves it!  We will have to bring it up to the cabin. He will love that!

We didn't like many of the commercials this year, except the Oreo commercial in the library.  That one was great!

Super Bowl

What a great game! I loved it! It is nice when the Super Bowl isn't a blow out. I love it when it comes down to the last play. Especially since I really didn't care who won, but I was kind of rooting for the Giants.

Today was Stockton's first day doing Fast Offerings. He went out with Isaac. They were gone for two hours! I had no idea it would take him that long. He was a good sport about it. Fast Offerings aren't his favorite, but he does love passing the sacrament.

Bubs, Lincoln, Ella, Dad, Cathy, Max, Grandma and Gayle came over for dinner. My dad brought Kentucky Fried Chicken. He picked it up yesterday and we warmed it up. Dinner was fun and delicious. Although I became sick to my stomach when Bubs told me about Josh Powell blowing up his house with his two kids inside. What an evil, evil father.
