Found the Hawk

We spent a long time cleaning today. The kids were great helpers. No complaining at all, and they helped a lot. I was on my knees vacuuming the bottom stair when I saw a weird needle looking thing sticking up. I pulled at it and it was Jorja's hawk earring that she lost a few days ago. Hopefully we can fix them, the pin is now sideways. I can't believe I saw it. It was buried in the carpet.

Jorja had a double date today. She asked a kid named Alex. She knew him in elementary school. He was in the Chinese program with her. He goes to a different school now. Sadler asked Hailey. They went miniature golfing and ate at Pizza Limone. Jorja loved the guy playing music on the patio. They spent a long time talking to him. She thought it was great.

The date ended about 9:00. Jorja then went to Ellie's birthday party. She played ping pong, foosball, and pool. She lost at all of them. Hahaha. She had a great time.

Final Art

Jorja had me get her up super early this morning for another early morning hike. This girl has gotten no sleep. Step 2 the U ends this week, so hopefully she will be able to use that time to sleep. Also, school has been pushed back one week. That is great news for Jorja! It will give the SBOs more time to work on their video and Jorja will get two full weeks of stress free summer. Also, they announced that they aren't going to make up those days, so even better!

Jorja finished an art project and then went to school to glue it to a giant collage. All done with art now! Woohoo! Jorja, Dessa and Kate went on a triple date. It was a blind date for Jorja. They went hiking and she had a great time.

Whoops, this is from the morning, not the date... oh well... Kate, Dessa, Jorja

Our nephew, Jacob, entered home MTC today. He was called to serve in the Columbia, Cali mission. He has been reassigned to Albuquerque, New Mexico. I hope Mike and Christen and their family get to meet him! Mike and I went to the cabin today. We brought Bear with us. We wanted to finish painting the cabin before Jorja comes up with her friends this weekend. Luckily Maysen is feeling a lot better and doesn't need me to bandage her anymore. I wouldn't have been able to leave her a few days ago. These telfa pads we got from the doctors are amazing. Super hard to find in the stores, but Amazon had a pack of 50 of them for $10. I would recommend every house having some. When you need them you don't want to wait for 2 day shipping. Non-stick pads, even Bandaid brand, just didn't cut it.

No More English

First thing this morning I tried to get Jorja registered so she could mess with her schedule. Except the button I needed to push to begin registration was not there. Luckily it showed up five minutes before arena scheduling was opened. I had to call the counselor's office to ask about a few things. Like Chinese. It wasn't on her schedule, or listed anywhere where we could add it. I talked to the nicest lady. She is a new vice principal there and she stayed on the phone for thirty minutes helping me. I was disappointed to find out that Mrs. Chung was only going to be at Corner Canyon this year. Jorja will have her ninth grade teacher again. She did not like her. Which means Preston will probably have her. Not excited about that.

I was also able to get English off of her schedule. She had English 1010 and 2010. (Super excited they have English 2010 now. Stockton had to drive to SLCC super early three days a week to take it. He wasn't able to have a 1st or 5th period because of it.) Anyway, Jorja passed her AP English test, so that takes care of English 1010. She took English 2010 during the summer with Step 2 the U. So... no more English for her! She is pretty excited about that.

Jorja begged me to take her out of geography her 9th grade year so she could take ballroom. She promised she would take the class online. Long story short, she will be taking 9th grade geography as a senior. Hahaha. She will also have a sophomore health class and a junior finance class. Just hitting all the grades. She did get volleyball with a lot of her friends, so that will be fun for her.

The SBOs met at IHOP to try to figure out how to pull off this video. They didn't get a lot done, but it was nice to at least start working towards something.

Preston decided to go to school online. Because of corona, the kids were able to choose to do in person or online. Preston has thrived online, Jorja wants back in the school. Preston is nervous to go back, he thinks it is too dangerous. I messaged Jack's mom and asked her if we could set up a weekly hangout for Preston and Jack. She was onboard with that idea.

I got to talk to Stockton today. LOVE MONDAYS! He sent me a picture of one of the first pages of his journal. He has the different transfers listed. Only FOUR more transfers until he's home! WOW! That is so exciting! I sent him a picture of Mike from when we were painting the cabin. Stockton sent a meme back within minutes. Hahahaha. That kid cracks me up!

Jorja had a date tonight with the boys she met hiking a few days ago. She also met Anna a few days ago. So, these three kids she has known less than a week. She had fun though. They went to an arcade and Wendys.

Bubs was texting me today asking if we would like a snowsuit we let them use years ago. It was Maysen's purple one. He had the jacket and he is looking for the pants. It was my favorite. I love this picture of Mike and Maysen. They had just gone down the sled hill and Maysen was dazed.

Jorja and I went shopping today. We finally got her snow tires off! Yay! We had fun at the book store. Jorja hates to read, but she loves self help books. We found a couple for her. She wants to start a girls student government book club. Probably a leadership book for that. She is amazing.

Jorja had a triple date tonight. She took Brenton, Ella took Aiden and Grace took Lucas. They went to Pizza Limone and went and saw a drive in movie. Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Jorja and Brenton have been friends for years. They have been pretty close recently. She is thrilled to be a student body officer with him.

Pumpkin Patch

Jorja wasn't supposed to work today. Originally she was supposed to get her wisdom teeth out today, but a few weeks ago the place called and changed her appointment to Friday. I guess then she gets one day of fall break to play. Madison went to St. George with her friends. She was scheduled to work and couldn't find anyone to take her shift. Jorja ended up working for her. She wasn't too excited about it because she had made plans with two girls to go get their nails done and hang out for a bit. Jorja was excited because this was the first time she would ever have hung out with them. Anyway, she had to cancel. Hopefully they will do something together another time. Jorja asked me if she could go out to breakfast with Ben instead. So, that is what she did before work.

After work she had a double date with Hailey. Jorja asked a kid from work named Cam and Hailey asked one of her friends named Brad. Jorja loved it. All four of them got along really well. Jorja had the best time. This was really good for her. Anyway, they went to dinner, picked out pumpkins at a pumpkin patch, carved them, watched the first part of Coraline and made cookies. Jorja and Cam were supposed to leave at 10:00 to go to a Haunted House for a work party. Right as they were about to leave they got a text that the Haunted Forest had shut down for the night because of the rain. So, it was cancelled. Glad they got the message before they left.

While Jorja was at work, Aysha and Autumn stopped by and dropped off a cup of cookies. I gave them to Jorja when they were carving pumpkins. Jorja started crying and said, "Ahhh, a cup of cookies? I remember when we delivered cups of cookies to people. That is so nice!"
