Found the Hawk

We spent a long time cleaning today. The kids were great helpers. No complaining at all, and they helped a lot. I was on my knees vacuuming the bottom stair when I saw a weird needle looking thing sticking up. I pulled at it and it was Jorja's hawk earring that she lost a few days ago. Hopefully we can fix them, the pin is now sideways. I can't believe I saw it. It was buried in the carpet.

Jorja had a double date today. She asked a kid named Alex. She knew him in elementary school. He was in the Chinese program with her. He goes to a different school now. Sadler asked Hailey. They went miniature golfing and ate at Pizza Limone. Jorja loved the guy playing music on the patio. They spent a long time talking to him. She thought it was great.

The date ended about 9:00. Jorja then went to Ellie's birthday party. She played ping pong, foosball, and pool. She lost at all of them. Hahaha. She had a great time.

Reconnecting

Jorja hung out with Hailey this morning
The bandage stuff we got at Walgreens DID NOT WORK! Maysen and I spent at least a half an hour peeling it off of her poor skin. It was horrible. I went to CVS, Harmons, Walmart and Smith looking for the stuff Brother Bingham had told me to get. None of the stores had it. I'm so sad and I don't know what to do. Sherry has been calling me and texting me about Maysen. She is really worried and wants her to be seen by a doctor. Yesterday the pharmacist recommended taking her to a burn unit. I did not know that was a thing. I spent most of today trying to figure that out. Finally I found a place where we could upload pictures and they would contact me. We never heard anything so we were guessing she is fine. Sherry still wanted me to take her in. We have an appointment tomorrow with her regular doctor. Fingers crossed everything will work out for us!

Jorja hung out with Brynlee and Chloee today. Brynlee and Chloee are twins. This is the first time they have hung out since Jorja's birthday I think. Jorja was super close with Brynlee until Brynlee got mad at her and her mom sent Jorja messages to stay away from her. That was hard. I'm glad they were able to reconnect with each other; but I am hoping they don't get as close as they once were. I'm so glad Jorja is such a forgiving person, but I think she also needs to guard her heart. I'm glad she had a great time today.

The three of them went on a hike and then to the dollar store. They bought a few things and then posted a message for people to slide up if they wanted a present. Then the three of them went around delivering dollar store items. Jorja loved it.

Bucket Hat

Jorja and I have been looking for her student government bucket hat. We had no idea where it could be. This morning it dawned on me that we had my dad wear it for the amazing race so the kids would be able to identify him. I couldn't remember if he had given it back or not. I texted him and asked if he had it. He sent me this picture. Hahahaha
Dad
Jorja was out with Hailey. I sent her this picture and she went and picked it up from my dad. Glad that mystery is solved! Jorja worked today. She is starting her last week at Chick-Fil-A! Hope it is a good week for her.

Maysen and I went shopping. We dropped off her phone with a cracked screen to get fixed. We went to Scheels and got Maysen a new water bottle and shoes. She is happy with both. We picked up Zupas on the way home. It was a good day.

Tanner Flats

Jorja stopped home this morning to pick up another blanket. They had gone to lunch at McDonalds, so they were near by. They are camping at Tanner Flats which is about twenty minutes away. Jorja has a student government thing today. She felt bad about missing the first thing, but she had already planned this trip with her friends. I told her that I would pick her up if she decided she wanted to go. She ended up deciding she didn't want to miss this. I went and picked her up. It was fun to see her. She had been having a fun time. They went hiking and saw Ellie on the trail. After the long meeting, she went with Riley, Bode, Sadler, Dawson, Ryan, Ella and Janelle to Pepperwood park and had pizza. Riley and Dawson took her back to the campground. Jorja went to Black Bear diner for dinner with Hailey and Allison. She texted me from the restaurant. It is the first time she has been back since her 15 year birthday dinner. She had such a bad experience she couldn't stand going back. She's in a much better place now and is ready to make new memories.

Scooter Parade

Mike and I have been wondering what to get Maysen for a college graduation present. Although we would love to get her something really cool, like a car, we can't do that right now. I talked to her last night about what she would want. We decided to get her a lot of little things. Running shoes, water bottle, fix her cracked cell phone screen... things like that. When Jorja and I were at Scheels to get Mike's water bottle, I saw one that I knew Maysen would love. At least I hope she does. Jorja and I went back to Scheels today, and it was GONE! We did find it on the hydroflask website, and it was the same price, so we have it ordered and it should get here Monday.

Jorja had her PLT closing social today. They got 'most likely' awards from last year, and the new members were welcomed. Jorja was a part of the 'White' family last year and she is this year too. This year Jorja and Luke are team captains. Jorja had a lot of fun last year and I hope she gets to experience this again. Fingers crossed corona will slow down!

Jorja met up with Riley for yogurt. He got back early this morning from Lake Powell. Then she headed off to camping with Hailey and Allison. They were waiting on our porch for Jorja. I went out and found them and brought them inside. They met two boys from another campsite. I don't know their names, but they were twins and a grade younger than these girls. They came over and asked if they could play cards with the girls. Jorja said it was really fun.

I saw a message on Jorja's phone about the young women activity. It was to come over to Sister Christensen's house to sign a poster for the graduates, then to watch the parade. I hadn't heard about the parade. I didn't worry about it because I knew Jorja wouldn't be there. I didn't realize they would have an activity this week. Anyway, I saw a lot of posts about it on Instagram. It looked so cool! All the high school graduates that live in Pepperwood were able to have a little parade. They got them all scooters and they rode down Pepperwood Drive, which is about a mile and a half I think. Anyway, it looked like the kids loved it. It was really cute to see all the graduation gowns flapping in the breeze. I took a couple of screen shots. What a fun memory for those seniors!

Mirror

Jorja asked if she could go take pictures with Hailey. She wanted to see Hailey's new car. I told her okay and to try to be safe and social distance. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do here, so we are just trying to follow what our state is recommending at the time.

Then I see pictures on her phone like this! Not social distancing! Not even close! Jorja was just supposed to be with Hailey. Jorja said when they got to Hailey's house, Emily and Allison were there. They were on a bike ride.

The trend right now is to take pictures with a mirror. That was also the trend when Jorja was five. I have a couple of mirror pictures of Jorja that age. Beautiful then, beautiful now.

Today is Star Wars day. May the fourth be with you.... It is also Skye's 14th birthday! It is also Jessie's 31st birthday. I went and got flowers to put on her grave. I always forget that her grave is different than my mom's. They are at the same cemetery though. I didn't take a picture of the entire thing, but this plaque is in front of a huge tombstone that says HODSON. On both sides of the tombstone are vases. Inside these vases were beautiful artificial flowers. I didn't want to disturb them, so I laid the flowers on Jessie's grave and sent a picture to Lisa. Her mom that lives in California.

After awhile I started thinking that these were just going to get lost. I decided to move them to my mom's grave. When Lisa texted me thanks I told her I moved the flowers. But they were bought for Jessie and Jessie is still remembered and loved. Next time I'm going to buy flowers that comes with a vase! It was nice to have such pretty flowers at my mom's grave though.

Sick Last Day

We didn't go sledding even once. That's a first. I was hoping to sled into 2020 at the springs like we did a few years ago, but Preston was sick. He was sick all day. Poor little guy felt miserable. We all climbed into Preston's bed and watched the festivities on Mike's laptop. We woke him up for it, then he went right back to sleep. What a fun way to start this decade.

Jorja went to a party with Hailey, Emily and Allison. She was not too happy about that. Jorja does not like parties. But Emily had already bought her a ticket. Jorja was nervous and called us about it. She ended up being fine and having a great time, although she said she doesn't want to do that again. She texted me when she got to Hailey's house. She said she had fun and didn't kiss any boys! Well done Porge!

Tape

My dad, Brett and I went to see Bubs ref a game at Riverton High School. He did a great job, although the Riverton coach got mad at Bubs when Bubs asked if he had any tape because two players almost hurt themselves by tripping over some mat that was sticking up. Luckily some mom's were on the case and brought Bubs tape speedy quick. It was fun to watch him and fun to be there with my dad and Brett. Jeri (Miller) Johnson was also there and that was really cool. She sat by my dad and we were able to catch up with her. Brett and Jeri used to be really good friends, so that was cool.
Brett and his family left for Emmitt, Idaho today to see Rachel's family. Mike, Maysen, Preston and I went to the cabin. Jorja had to work this week, so she stayed behind at Hailey's house. Jorja and Hailey went to see Cats tonight and it was as terrible as all the reviews said it was. They thought it was funny though.

Coco Christmas Dance

Today was the Christmas Dance. Jorja was at Hailey's house this morning doing last minute preparations, I think. Jorja also went to Jane Hillstead's viewing. It was at our church building. She said she saw her friend Luke as soon as she walked in. Jane is Luke's two year old sister. She died on Thanksgiving. Jorja was able to talk to Luke for a bit. I'm so glad she was able to see him. Shortly after Jorja got home Hailey came over and their dates picked them up for the day activity. They went to the aquarium. Jorja had a great time and was able to see the giant spider she thought killed Ben when she got her wisdom teeth out.

The girls got ready together. The theme for the dance was Disney and their group decided to do a Coco theme. The make up turned out really cute. The boys took them Toscanos for dinner. I think that was the name. It is the same restaurant we went to for Jorja's birthday dinner. The dance was in the field house, which is nice. Then they went to Tyler's house after. Jorja had a great time and loved that Hailey was in her group too. These two have a goal to go on a double date once a month. They got to do it, even without them doing the asking. Nicely done girls! Nicely done.

Celebrating the Porge

Mike had work off today and it ended up being perfect. While Jorja and Preston were at school we drove up to Logan to see Maysen. Mike was able to check out the car and drive it back home. He took off the entire bumper. It is ugly, but it runs. I drove Maysen home. We ate at the Waffle Iron before heading home. Mike went straight home and followed his gps. It told him to get off on I-80 then 215. I didn't turn on my gps because I knew the way home and got stuck in horrible traffic. Maysen and I stopped at Target. Maysen got Jorja a Utah State bottle and wanted to fill it with something. I told her Jorja had really wanted new pens. I knew the ones she liked before she got at Target, so we stopped there and found them. Maysen got her two packs. We hurried to Scheels to pick up a new wallet thing for Preston to give her. I was sooooo tempted to get her the one with the cactus, but I resisted. We got home just in time to head out to dinner.

Jorja picked Toscano. None of us had ever been there, but it was close. Jorja REALLY wanted Hailey to come with us. She wasn't going to be able to hang out with Hailey on her birthday, so she really wanted her here for this. Hailey was doing her night activity for the dance tonight, so she didn't have much time. This turned out perfect. The food was delicious and they sat us close to the bar with ALL THE TVs! I asked them if they could turn it on Fox. They asked why. That took me back for a second. Ummm. The World Series!!! They said okay, but they thought some people would want to watch the Jazz/Lakers game (that was going to be on in a few hours.) I said, "but....the World Series..." They turned it on right as the game started. It was so fun to have on in the background. Too bad the National lost! Hopefully Mike will get to see a good one!
Jorja opened her presents once she got home.

Jorja LOVED it and LOVED the pens hahahaha
Jorja's big present from us was a giant jewelry cabinet she got a month ago. I wrapped up a small jewelry box today. I thought it would be great to take to dances. Usually she takes off her jewelry and tries to keep it in a small box. We also put a slip of paper saying we would pay her November car payment. She was happy about that.

Jorja went to the football game tonight. I think she just went by herself and found people to sit by. It was the first playoff game and Alta won. Bronson got everyone to sing Happy Birthday to Jorja. She loved that!
I met Jorja at the store after the game. We bought things for tonight and tomorrow. The girls from Chick-Fil-A are coming tonight to make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. She is having a little pancake breakfast tomorrow for her birthday. Brynlee is coming to both, so she slept over. Turns out Brynlee is the only one who showed up for the cookies tonight. Hopefully more people show up tomorrow! That's okay though. Jorja was exhausted. She and Brynlee slept in the guest room. Brynlee made Jorja a scrapbook of the two of them. It was really cute. She waited until midnight to give it to her. Hopefully they won't be exhausted tomorrow!
