Lagoon in June

Jorja had a voice lesson with Addie Wray this morning. Addie is one of Stockton's friends. She was the sterling scholar winner for voice, she even won state. She is awesome. Jorja is really good friends with her younger brother Carter. I asked Addie if she could give Jorja voice lessons. Jorja loves to sing, but has never been in a choir or had any time of lesson. She thinks she's horrible. She's wrong. Anyway, I thought Addie could give her confidence and she is a great person for Jorja to look up to. Jorja was not looking forward to this. At all. She was terrified. She is worried Carter will hear her. She is worried that Addie will think less of her after she hears her sing. She is worried about all sorts of crazy things. I think she just needs to get one lesson under her belt, then she will love it. Jorja admitted it wasn't as scary as she was anticipating. That's great! My only regret is I wish I had asked Addie earlier!

Lagoon in June was what my mom always called our family reunion. Sure wish she could be here. We drove up in the motorhome and parked in their oversized parking lot. That turned out to be a great idea. Mike is on call and he didn't want to worry about his computer. He was able to go back to the motorhome and work when he needed to. He also napped. So did all my other kids. Overstock Lagoon day has spoiled them. In their defense, it was extremely crowded today! I made them stay to the bitter end though. My brothers and I would have never even thought of leaving Lagoon early. Weird that my kids want to. I had a fun day though. Matt and his family were here. My dad and Max. Lots of the Fullers. The Steve Parrys, Roes, Hopkins and Couches. We had more people than last year. Wish everyone would have been able to come.

We are not sure what he did to destroy Maysen's face.
Stockton's side burns look crazy weird from below.
Also, that is Jorja's face.

The kids always like to make vlogs. I don't know why. They don't have a vlog, yet they do this all the time.

We had one scary moment where we lost Preston. He was riding Tidal Wave with Jorja. The rest of us were at the boats with Matt's kids. They came and found us and said they wanted to go to Cannibal. It was a few minutes before we were ready to go. By that time we couldn't find Preston. We were hoping and hoping that he would have walked to Cannibal. Luckily that is where we found him. I was so scared. I don't like not knowing where my kids are. It's weird because earlier in the day I let Preston and Max run around by themselves, that didn't bother me at all. This time I was worried.

Stockton and Jorja went on the Rocket with me before we left. That is my favorite ride. The Re-Entry one. We left the park as it was closing. The proper way to do it. I'm pretty sure the kids loved having the motorhome to ride home in. They were all zonked by the time we got home. Early church tomorrow is going to be fun.

Recital

Maysen, Stockton and Preston had a recital today.  I hope they practiced.  I was not good about reminding them.  We are so close to the end of the school year.  I can make it!  Anyway, the kids sounded good and we are done with piano/voice until the fall.  Yay!
You can kind of see Maysen and Stockton in the back.
Preston is in the front with Annabelle's hand on him.
We went to a pizza place afterwards.  I think it is called Smokey Mountain Pizza.  Preston got to make his own pizza.  How cute is that?
Preston
Stockton drove us both ways and we lived to tell the tale.  Just kidding. He did a really good job.  He is not as hard to convince to drive as Maysen is!  Hopefully he will like it and feel comfortable doing it.  It would be a hard life to not have this skill!

Recital

I took my last group of girls to Kneaders today.  This is what we did for the Young Women birthdays this year.  I loved this birthday idea, but it proved to be a little more complicated than we anticipated. There were four girls that were never able to go.  Becky bought them a little hummingbird cake there and I dropped them off later today.

Maysen, Stockton and Preston had a recital today.  Maysen sang two songs and the boys played the piano.  They even played a duet and I loved it!  We brought Max because my dad had a wedding to go to.  My kids went first at the recital because we had to leave right away.  The recital started at 11:00.  Stockton had a diving competition at the UofU. Warm ups started at 11:00.  Yikes!
Preston & Stockton
We made it, but Stockton wasn't able to warm up at all.  He was nervous about his reverse 1 1/2, but was able to pull it off.

Becky invited the Young Women presidency and their husbands to dinner.  I was asked to bring a dessert.  I made a chocolate peppermint bundt cake.  It kind of stuck to the pan so it didn't look pretty, but it was delicious.  Once I put the crushed candy canes on top you couldn't notice the dent as much. Anyway, we had such a great time!  At the end of the night we played Telestrations.  It is a mix of pictionary and telephone.  We laughed and laughed.  This was my favorite.

Started with snowplow and ended with satan sacrificing a person.  Oh man, we laughed and laughed.  I was so tired when we got home, but it was a lot of fun!

Nothing

Mike drove the motorhome with all our kids and Max.  My dad and I drove home separately.  I stopped at Huntsman to see Heather.  She had her mastectomy yesterday.  She looked fantastic!  She was wide awake and very happy when I stopped by.  She was doing so well they were planning on releasing her from the hospital today.  I was in the hospital for a week!  Well, I had both surgeries at the same time and I got a fever so they wouldn't let me go home.  Anyway, she seems to have a pretty high tolerance for pain.  Many people told her to make sure she takes her pain medicine for the first few days, even if she thinks she doesn't need it.  I remember the first two months after my surgery as extremely painful.  It was so great to see her looking so well.  I'm so proud of her.

The most noticeable change to our house while we were gone is the upstairs bathroom.  The sink is gone and the toilet is out.  It looks pretty discussing right now.  Hope that won't last long.  I'm not sure what next week will be like.  I know Rob will be out of town for the entire week.
A few months ago we let Maysen quit piano lessons on the condition that she takes voice lessons.  She has been taking them for almost two months from Sister Newman who lives down our street.  They had a recital today.  Maysen sang, "Nothing" and did a really good job.  She was noticeably shaking for the last half of the song.  I was so worried for her!  You couldn't tell it in her voice though.  She sat down and whispered, "Did you notice me shaking?  I'm just glad I didn't fall over!"  What a good experience for her.

My family came over for dinner.  Sloppy Joes.  We had the pool up and running.  Our heater is on the fritz, so it wasn't as warm as normal, but it wasn't cold at all.  The kids seemed to have a great time.

Our scuba certification cards came in today.  Mike picked them up along with a scuba tank.  He had ordered his BCD and regulator stuff already.  He gets really excited about things.  He had fun playing scuba in the pool with Jorja.  She was breathing off the alternate air supply.

I kept trying to get a good picture of Abby.  She has this beautiful smile. When I would ask her to smile she would squint her eyes.  Actually all the pictures are cute, so here you go....

My dad has these weird giant bumps on his arms.  They remind me of giant hives.  He keeps scratching them.  I begged him to get some Benadryl on the way home.  I hope he did.  I hope it helps.  Matt, Mike and I played a game of Dominion.  Matt won.  That was disappointing.
