Book Club

I got to have book club with Preston today. We are reading Inkheart. There are only two other kids in the group. All three of these kids are loving the book and all of them had done their reading assignment. That made book club so fun today! Preston picked out the treats. He picked out these cups of mini fudge stripes and gatorade. He was happy.

First Inward

I went to diving with Preston today. Stockton needed to work on his Capstone Engineering project with Abby. They are working on making something that a deaf person could wear to feel music. Sounds pretty cool. Anyway, I got to be at diving with just Preston. The last time this happened was last week on April 3rd. I forgot to write about this, but Preston did his first inward that day! He was so scared! I really didn't think he would do it, but he did. Twice. I loved it! I wish Stockton would have been there to see it. He would have been so proud.

Not Much

Preston went to piano a half hour early and Stockton went to diving today. That is the only thing I can remember about this day. I am so behind.

Don't Cry Over Spilled Macaroni

Stockton makes me laugh. He set this up outside Jorja's room.
I was very frustrated with myself when I dropped Preston's macaroni.
That was not easy to clean up either. It was soggy and sticky. I cried. I finished the review for the book I was working on. I did not like this book. It was boring, and sometimes slightly condescending towards the reader. I'm so glad I'm done with it!

The Jazz played the Golden State Warriors today. Golden State is the reigning NBA champs if you are reading this years in the future. I was very motivated to finish the book review before this game started. I couldn't watch the game, only listen to it. The Jazz dominated the game from start to finish. Jazz ended up winning by 40 points. 79-119. Wow.

Over

Spring break is over. Now back to the everyday grind. That's sad. Jorja's confused about elections. She had decided and felt really good about running for president. She wanted to talk to Brenton about it. He is in our ward and is the current president. She started having doubts when she saw him. She wondered how she could do this to him. She doesn't know what to do. She doesn't want to run against Brenton. Bode is running for public relations, which is Jorja's current position and she doesn't want to run against him. I don't think anyone is running against Carter for vice president. Jorja says no one can beat Carter. So.... it is going to be an interesting and stressful few weeks.

Schedules

Maysen and I spent a lot of time talking about schedules. I think this is the one she is going to go with. Hope she likes it. Creative Non-Fiction, Native American Studies, Literary Analysis, Sensation and Perception, Buyer Behavior.
I listened to the Jazz/Lakers game. I like it when the Jazz don't make me worry they are going to win when they play. Mike, Preston and I also played Pandemic. We are almost finished with that game. It's been a fun one.

Green Screen

I spent a lot of time today looking over different options for classes Maysen. I made different plans for her. Psych major, English major, Marketing minor. Psych major, English major. Psych major, English minor, marketing minor. Psych major, English minor. Psych major, Marketing minor. Anyway, hopefully Maysen will be able to figure out what classes she wants to take in the fall with that information. She is supposed to register on Tuesday.

Jorja and Mike decided to redo Jorja's pictures and take them in front of the green screen. We took a lot of pictures. Here are a few of them. Mike was having trouble getting the green out of the picture, so he had Preston do it. He did a great job too! I don't have those pictures with me at the moment.

Lunch with the Porge

Today Mike's mom would have been 79 years old. Mike and I took Jorja out to a teppanyaki place to mark the occasion. The other kids were invited but did not want to go. In the past we have had a picnic on her tombstone with KFC. It was rainy and the kids were busy so we decided on lunch. Now two weeks later, I can't even remember what the kids did.

The Jazz have been so fun to watch lately. I follow a couple of them on Instagram. I love how often they joke with each other. Ingles put this first post on the Instagram stories. Shortly after Rubio put his post up. I don't know why, but it made me laugh.

Photo Shoot with Hailey

Jorja at the temple
Hailey took some pictures for Jorja's campaign this month. She is a 'card dealer'. Things like 'Jorja is all heart' or 'Jorja is a sure bet'; things like that. Anyway, Jorja has her costume pretty much put together. Hopefully we can figure out something that works. I have the pictures I took off of my phone first, and then the nice camera last. I didn't have time to spend getting them in chronological order.

Now onto the pictures from the nice camera.
Jorja also needs a photo for her platform page that will hang up during the campaign.
Some of Jorja and Hailey just for fun.
 Sure love these two crazies.

 Back to the campaign...
We did so many 'throwing cards in the air' pictures. It is hard to get it to look just right.
This is my favorite 'card in the air' picture.
Not sure why the pictures are so yellow now.

Chris and Jane

We had family dinner today. Chris and Jane are here from California and had time to get together today. All of my family that lives in Utah was able to come, except Maysen. Aunt Gayle came. Jae and his little boy came. Dad and Cathy brought enchiladas. Mike made strawberry short cake. It was really fun. I love Chris and Jane, they are so nice. I did forget to take any pictures of the night until only Matt and Sam were left. This is the one picture from the dinner I got.

Sleep Test

Stockton and Jorja were gone for most of the day today. Jorja went to Carter's house around noon and stayed there all day. Carter is in student government with her. He is the sophomore historian I think. They played lots and lots of games, which is funny because Jorja isn't a huge game person. They went to the mall. Jorja watched Addie try on prom dresses. (Addie is Carter's sister. She is Stockton's age. Jorja likes her a lot.) They also watched two movies. One was Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. That is all I can remember about her day. I'm glad she was able to have a fun day. Yesterday she was a bit disappointed. She had tried to plan things to do with her friends, Evan, Jaren, and Shafer. She got uninvited at the last minute because she is a girl. Not that the boys didn't want her there, but the parents wouldn't let her come. She has been saying that she wishes she was a boy lately. She doesn't really mean that, she just wants to be allowed to hang out with boys because she has more boy friends than girl friends. I'm glad she was able to have a fun day with Carter.
Carter, Jorja, Addie
Stockton also was gone most of the day. He had a marathon date with a girl he knows through diving. Her name is Dani. Mike would get notifications when he would use his card. He sent me a message saying, "I've seen Stockton use his card at Chick-Fil-A, FatCats bowling and Nickelcade." Jorja and Stockton both got home at the same time. They sat on our bed and talked to us. I loved it. It was so much fun hearing about their days and watching them interact with each other. I wish I would have written this post shortly after it happened so I could remember everything. Sadly my memory is awful.

The doctor's office called me today to talk about Jorja's sleep. They want her to come in and be evaluated. They want to hook her up to machines to monitor her breathing, heart rate, mobility, they mentioned a ton of things. The test would cost us $900. Ouch. I told them we couldn't do that at this time. If it was a life or death thing that would be different, but I couldn't justify spending $900 for information. The neurologist is also a sleep specialist, so I think this is something that they try to get their patients to do rather than something that needs to be done. At least I hope that is the case.

Jordan River Temple

I am super behind on my blog again! AHHHHH!!! Hopefully I can remember everything that happened over the last twelve days. Okay....here it goes. Today was the first day of our spring break. Stockton still had to get up early to go to his English class at SLCC. I woke up Stockton at 5:40 and then hurried out the door to meet Stephanie Waddoups. She invited me to go exercising with her. That made me happy.

We had tickets to go to the Jordan River Temple open house. Mike even invited Becky, his friend from work. Our tickets were for 12:00. The kids and I drove down and picked up Mike and Becky and headed to the temple. The line was SO LONG! We waited over an hour before we got to the tent that was still outside the temple. Jorja was so hungry. She hadn't eaten and knew we were going to eat afterwords. We just didn't expect it to take that long. Still, I'm glad we were able to go. This temple was dedicated a month before I turned 8 years old. I remember being so sad that I wasn't old enough to go to the dedication. It was also built at the time when the church asked the members to fund the buildings, so I remember different fundraisers to earn money for the temple. Plus, it was during the same time that our stake center was being built. I used to go to this temple once a week to do baptisms my senior year of high school. It is also the temple where I took my endowments out. It was cool to go through it with my family and Becky.

We went to Pizza Pie Cafe after the temple. The place was pretty gross. The plates were even dirty. Not going back to that one again.

Jorja and Hailey hung out today. I love Hailey. Although sometimes they are weird together. Exhibit A:
Jorja. I don't know why. She even climbed up the stairs like this.
I do love my Porge. Even when I don't understand her.
