Idaho and Friends

I took Stockton and Jorja to the bank to open them a checking account. The only problem was I didn't know their social security number. I hurried home to get it. I had brought their passports with me, but neglected the other. Whoops. It took awhile, but we got them all set up. Stockton was meeting friends to see Ant-Man and the Wasp. We didn't have much time to get him there and he was hungry. I pulled into Chick-Fil-A's drive thru. Jorja loved that. She has eaten there every day this week. We dropped Stockton off at the movie theater right on time. Acea brought him home. Stockton showed him the ducks. Stockton was surprised that he liked the movie, so that's great.

Mike sent me pictures of their adventures. They went to lunch at Subway, much to Preston's delight.

They humored Mike and went for a long sailboat ride.

Mike put risers on the bed so we can stick suitcases underneath.
Maysen and Preston loved playing Mario Party on the projector in the basement.
Sharon texted and asked if they would like to go river rafting tomorrow. Sharon was going to let Preston come. Maysen didn't want to go. Preston didn't want to go without Maysen. Mike wasn't going to leave the kids by themselves. Preston asked if river rafting was like Rattlesnake Rapids Extreme? Maysen said, "Yes, but with more death." Yikes! They did watch someone setting off fireworks at the beach and enjoyed s'mores. Pretty fun day.

Jorja had the day off. Her only day this week. She made plans to see some of her EFY buddies. Hunter just finished EFY and was still in town visiting relatives. Zach is going to EFY next week and arrived in town today. They were hoping Isaiah could come too, but that didn't work out. I drove up to American Fork with Jorja to pick up Zach from his grandparents house. We then picked up Brooklyn at Lehi and drove to Jamba Juice at Thanksgiving Point where I dropped the kids off. I was nervous driving away, but was assured that Brooklyn's parents would pick them up. That did happen, after they went to Chick-Fil-A. After tomorrow, Jorja will have eaten there eight times this week. Good thing she likes their food!

I picked her up close to midnight and then we drove Zach back to his grandparents house. I was so tired when I got home. Jorja was so happy, so it was worth it.

She PASSED!!!

I knew the AP scores were getting released today. The problem is, Utah isn't scheduled to get their scores until Monday. I guess they rotate who gets the scores first. I remember when we were on our trip to Georgia I logged in on Utah's date, only to find out that because we were in Georgia we had to wait until Georgia's date. I had my dad log in for me on that one. Anyway, there is a website called earlyscores.com. You log into that site just as you would the collegeboard site. They have it run through servers based in California. Or something like that. Anyway, it worked like a charm and we were able to get Jorja's score. We were so excited to find out she passed!!!!! She got a three, but she did not think she would get that high. I'm so happy. This changes a lot for her. If she did not pass she would need to take AP Chinese this coming year. Her class this year was officially called Chinese DLI5. Because she passed she will be able to take all three bridge classes. There are three college level classes taught on a rotating basis. Kind of like seminary. The classes don't build on each other. The class Jorja will take next year is titled Chinese Pop Culture. They will study the role that current media and entertainment play in the Chinese speaking world. I hope she likes it, but I'm soooooo glad she passed! We will have to tweak her schedule. They had all the 9th grade Chinese kids sign up for AP Chinese until the scores were released. Right now seminary is scheduled where they thought this class would be. Hopefully it will be easy to switch.
Maysen and Jorja spent the day together. I love that! They went exercising at the gym and then went to the mall. Jorja helped Maysen pick out new makeup and they got Maysen a new red dress. I dropped Jorja off at work and then stopped at Matt and Sam's house to pick up the cabin sheets. Matt was sitting in the trunk of his car when I arrived. He got out too quickly for me.

Mike took Maysen and Preston to the cabin this weekend. The other kids weren't able to go. I picked Jorja up from work. She came out with a frozen strawberry lemonade. That was delicious! She said it is a secret menu item. Really, Chick-Fil-A had it last year and they will make it for you if you ask. Jorja and Stockton (mostly Jorja) played with ducks until it was time for bed.

4th of July Movie Night

We had a pretty low key 4th of July. It was great. Maysen and I walked up to the pavilion for the breakfast they have every year. It was a nice walk. Pretty crowded. We were hoping to see the parade, but we were a bit late for that. Jorja had work today. Chick-Fil-A closed at 6:00, so we showed up at 5:30 for dinner. Jorja wasn't expecting us.
Jorja clearly thrilled to see us.
Jorja taking our order.
We spent the night swimming with ducks, playing games and watching a movie. It was so much fun! We watched UHF. It is a Weird Al Yankovic movie that came out in the 80s. The kids loved it. It should be noted that Stockton isn't in any of these pictures, but he was there. I'm guessing he got into the pool after I did.

Jorja the mermaid. My pictures didn't turn out, this is the best I could get.
 I'm guessing she's singing?
Maysen's so nice. She was going to wear the tail first, but let Jorja when she found out Jorja wanted to. Maysen never did get a turn. I played around with it after Jorja. It's . . . interesting.

Corn

Deer keep getting into our backyard, they jump over the fence. I don't know why they want to be back here, it's not that exciting. It is funny watching them jump over so we tried to catch the deer on camera. I started filming in the perfect spot. Too bad this time the deer decided to change the fence he jumped over.
Mike and Preston worked on the duck fence again. Preston had fun being inside with the ducks.

Jorja worked today. It was the first day she did not enjoy it. She was on hospitality. She had to give people mints and see if they needed anything. For four hours. This isn't so bad when it is busy, but it was not. Mike said that Jorja got her first experience of work being mindnumpingly dull. She said if she is on hospitality tomorrow she is going to cry. She did get to come home and play with ducks though.

Mike had the ducks swimming in the sink. They chomped on the lettuce and corn they were given. They are getting big!

Starting Operation Duck Fence

Holy cow! I got way behind again. GRRRRRR. I guess I will mostly post by pictures because my memory is awful. One of Jorja's friends is leaving to Florida today, so they decided to go to a movie before his flight left. I think they went to see a Jurassic movie. Jurassic World maybe?

I dropped Julian and Madison off at their houses and brought Jorja and Hailey back here. They hung out until it was time for Jorja to go to work. She will be working a lot this week. It is her first week of summer without a camp to go to. She was trained on the drive thru today. She loved it. I got a text from her right as I was picking her up asking if I could go through the drive thru and order a frosted root beer. I was excited thinking it would be her, but it wasn't. She just wanted the drink.

Mike came home and started working on a duck fence with Preston. Preston loved it. It is nice that Mike has found something that helps Preston get away from his computer!

I CANR BELEIVE U

Mike and Jorja have been making bread lately and it's delicious. Jorja wanted to bring some bread to Hailey's family.
Jorja and Mike
Speaking of Hailey, I saw this text conversation between the two of them last week. I laughed so hard. Hailey is a good sport. (Also, neither of the girls worried about correct spelling/punctuation. I think that is obvious.)

Hailey's I CANR BELEIVE U text made me laugh so hard. Hailey ended up having a great time, so it worked out well. Plus a cute ballroom dancer asked her during the slow song and she was spun around like crazy. Anyways, I like Jorja and Hailey together.

Now for pictures of ducks.
