Sick Day

The nasty bug took me down last night. I spent most of the night throwing up. There were nine people in our house today. I didn't count Mike, he was at work. Out of those nine people, there was only one person who was not throwing up. O-N-E. That was Jorja. Hopefully this bug won't get to her. When I picked her up last night and told her Stockton was sick, she knew that meant she wouldn't be able to hang out with Gavin tomorrow. She said, "But this is supposed to be my happy week." She deserves that. Jorja came into my room and asked me if she could go with Evan somewhere. I barely knew what she was talking about. I really didn't care at that moment, but I do remember telling her not to get her friends sick. I found these pictures on her phone later.

Jorja had a great time. They went to Cafe Rio and Evan made Jorja try a burrito. They ate at a park and then went to see a movie. I think it was called The Star. I'm glad Evan and his mom were able to take her out of this sick house today. It was not fun to be here.

Rachel left to go back to Idaho really late last night. She got there safely about 2:30 in the morning. She said the girls slept most of the way. I'm glad she is there safe and sound. I was a little bit worried about her.

Improv and EFY

Rachel wanted the girls to make birthday cards for Brett. She was hoping to get them in the mail today. All the girls were feeling awful, but look at how cute Marie's card is! I love how she said she drew the Walgreen's logo. Hahaha!
All four of Rachel's girls were sick today. All of them. I don't think I have ever had all of my kids sick at the same time. Rachel took them to Urgent Care, especially since Marie had strep. They wouldn't see her. They said they don't take walk-ins until 5:00. This is how the girls looked all day.

Mina was BEGGING to go to the doctors. Grace was begging too. It was so sad. Grace has strep. She refuses to take medicine, so that will be fun for Rachel. Rachel was bringing the kids in from the doctors when she threw up on the front grass. Wow. It just keeps getting better and better for her.

Jorja was so funny today. She had a dream about a kid in her seminary class. His name is Jaren. He is president of the improv thing. Jorja's friend Heather signed her up for the auditions. Jorja wasn't so sure about that. Heather was Jorja's pantomime partner in theater. Anyway, the auditions are today, which is probably why Jorja had a dream about Jaren. He sits in front of her in seminary. She tapped him on the shoulder and said, "This is kind of weird since I have never talked to you, but I had a dream about you last night." Then she told him her dream. Jaren was the fruit king. There were groups of different fruits. Jorja was in the peach group. Then they fought to the death Hunger Games style. They had guns that shot their fruit. I'm not telling it as funny as Jorja did. Apparently she had Jaren laughing so hard he was crying. That's my girl!

Heather came and picked up Jorja for the improv tryouts after school. She was nervous. This was way out of her comfort zone. They were in groups of four and played different improv games. Jorja was with Heather and two other people she didn't know. There were about 35 people trying out and only 17 people can make it. Jorja didn't think she had a chance because she is a freshman, but after tryouts she was really hoping she made it. Jorja was gone with friends, but she texted me the cast. She actually made it! She is not in the main cast, but she is a server/actor. Heather made it too. She is so excited. Her friends Natalie and Sami also made it. This will be such a good experience for her. How fun!

Jorja hung out with her EFY friends tonight. Her friend, Hunter, was in town from California. She has been so excited to see him. She has been talking about it for months. Today was the day. They hung out at Brooklyn's house and Thanksgiving Point. They also took lots of pictures. Jorja wants to be better about pictures now that she has somewhere she puts them. Plus she has started putting lots of pictures on her bedroom wall. Here are a fraction of the pictures Jorja took. I'm glad she had fun.

I was late picking Jorja up. She was in Lehi and things went crazy right before I needed to pick her up. I was trying to help Rachel get all her sick kids to bed while she was so sick. Right before Rachel came back from the doctors, Mike, Preston, Marie and I were playing Colt Express. Preston kept saying how sleepy he was. That is unusual. Especially during a game. Well, it wasn't very long before he started throwing up. We didn't even finish the game. You know Preston is feeling awful if he can't finish a game! I got Preston put to bed with a bucket next to him, helped Rachel and was heading out the door when Stockton came home. He had gone to diving and then said he was going to hang out with the diving team. Well, Stockton and Gavin came inside. Stockton looked awful. He hurried downstairs. Gavin said that he thought Stockton had the flu. Stockton was fine all during diving. They went to Chick-Fil-A, he was fine. They went to see a movie. A bit into the movie he was not fine. He ended up throwing up twice. Luckily he didn't throw up in the movie theater, but he didn't make it to a toilet, he threw up on the bathroom floor and then in the garbage can. Then on the way out he threw up again. Holy cow! This bug is nasty! Plus, every time there is a break from school Stockton seems to get sick, why should this day be any different. I took Gavin home and said, "Well, it looks like you won't be hanging out with Stockton and Jorja tomorrow." Drat. Hopefully Gavin doesn't get sick. Hopefully this bug doesn't last long.

Missionaries at Lunch

There is a lot of sickness going on at our house right now. Mostly Marie. She is miserable. Rachel took her to urgent care tonight. She has strep. Boo. Rachel was planning on going back to Idaho today, but Eve was throwing up. How can she drive five hours by herself with a two year old throwing up?

 Rachel bought a pharmacy
Sister Hutchinson got news that she is being transferred tomorrow. Boo! She wanted to go and see Jorja at lunch. She was nervous to walk into the school by herself, so she asked me to come with her. If I could do this again, I would have not been there right as soon as lunch started. Stockton was walking with Jorja to help her find Gavin when Jorja saw us. She was so excited to see the missionaries. Stockton had to leave to get to class, then we couldn't get Jorja to Gavin. When the missionaries said it was time to leave, Jorja's eyes looked like they were filled with panic. I saw Gavin with Isaac and ended up bringing Gavin over to Jorja. Other than that, the lunch was great. Jorja made Sister Hutchinson and Sister Argo friendship bracelets, so she was excited to give that to them. I love the bond Jorja has with these missionaries.
Jorja & Sister Hutchinson
I checked Jorja out of school today to go to her first therapy appointment. Jorja loved it. I don't know what happened, but Jorja seemed to feel at peace when she came out of there. They have another appointment set up for next week. I hope this helps her. I hope Jorja learns tools to help her with her panic attacks and anxiety. I hope Jorja is able to heal. Jorja and I went to DI afterwords. Jorja loves DI. We found a few dresses, shoes and some CDs. She also saw her softball friend Molly there, so that was fun. We then went to Hobby Lobby and bought stuff for Jorja to make a scrapbook. She wants to make a high school scrapbook. I think that will be good for her. Luckily everything was 50% off, so it was perfect timing.

I watched Rachel's girls while Rachel and Marie were at the doctors. Grace wasn't too happy about her mom being gone. Marie spent some time with Grace when she got back. They are so cute together.

The missionaries stopped by one more time tonight. Sister Hutchinson gave Jorja this shirt. She loves it. She slept in it tonight. I'm so grateful for the love these missionaries have shown my little girl.

Millburn Family Thanksgiving

I got up early this morning and started cooking. I first made two banana cream pies. I about died inside when I realized I didn't pick up the sweetened condensed milk I needed.  I had caramel sweetened condensed milk. So, I used that. I made two caramel banana cream pies. They ended up being super delicious. I also made rolls and cranberry sauce.

Brother Masters came over today to talk to me about a new calling. He was about to tell me what the new calling was when someone knocked on the door. I interrupted him to answer, I kind of had a feeling about who was there. I was right! It was Audrey!!!!! I haven't seen her since June. She has been living in California. She is home for Thanksgiving! She has grown too. I laughed and gave her a hug. It was so good to see her! I brought her to Jorja's room, then went upstairs to finish my conversation with Brother Masters.

The missionaries sat by us at church today. Then they took Jorja to go teach some lessons with them. Jorja missed her Sunday school class to do this, but I think it was a good experience. When she came back she came into my primary class. She helped me teach my lesson. That was fun to have her in there. She is a natural teacher. She was really, really good.

I couldn't decide my favorite, so I put them all....
My family came over for an early Thanksgiving dinner. Rachel and her girls were here, my dad and Max, Bubs with his family, and Matt with his family. Rachel texted that Marie had a sore throat, so if anyone was worried to let her know. Sam said that Anne and Jeff had been sick as well. Mike decided he would hide from everyone most of the day. He cannot afford to get sick right before Black Friday. I only took a couple of pictures, but we had a fun time. It was nice to have Rachel and her girls with us. We sure have missed them!

Traffic School

Stockton had traffic school this morning. At least that is done now. The guy that gave Stockton the ticket was the one who was doing the school. He talked about how he liked to make everyone's day stressful and never gave warnings. Of course that would be the guy who would pull over Stockton. At the beginning of class the officer wanted to see who had the worst speeding ticket. Turns out a guy in the class got pulled over for going 115 in a 25. Yikes! The dumb thing is the police officer that pulled him over wrote his ticket down so it said he was going 5 over in a 25. He got the same ticket as Stockton when he was going 90 miles an hour over the speed limit.

Stockton and I went to the mall after I picked him up. I wanted to return Jorja's jacket I got her for her birthday. Well, I wanted to get the exact same one. The pocket broke on the first one. Luckily they had an extra small and I was able to do that. Hopefully this one doesn't break. At the mall, they have a Harry Potter thing. Holy cow was it crowded! It looked like people were waiting forever just to go in a little kiosk thing. We did not do that. The line went all the way to the escalators. Crazy.
Mike made bread today. He always texts the missionaries when he makes bread so they can come pick up a loaf. Jorja and I missed them by minutes. Sister Hutchinson left Jorja this note. She finds out Monday if she is getting transferred. The chances she stays are really slim, but it would be so cool if she did!

Mike, Preston and I played a couple of games of Preston's new Pandemic. That was fun. Jorja went to the Wizard of Oz to usher. During the show she sat by her psychology teacher. She thought that was funny.

Pictures with Hailey

Stockton found out his new ACT results this morning. He was disappointed. He earned a 33, which is the same result he earned when he didn't study. This time he got a perfect score in English, a 35 in math, a 33 in Reading and a 29 in science. Weird that that is only a 33. Science is not forgiving because if you miss a question, it will drop you two points. When Stockton was taking the math test he was working on a problem that was a trial and error problem. He knew he was close and the time was almost up. He figured out the answer right as they called time. He knows the answer was J (I think that is what he said), but he didn't answer it. Stockton did the math this morning. If he had answered that question he would have received a 34 on the test. I love Stockton's honesty. He is 100% honest. At all times. I love that about him. I know he is disappointed, but I hope he never changes. He is going to be the best husband and father one day. His wife will not ever have to worry about him. He is so kind. He has a strong testimony. He is excellent with kids. I hope my girls marry someone like Stockton. He is amazing. I am so proud of him.

Preston woke up sick this morning. He stayed home from school. This is not a usual occurrence. It probably has happened before, but I just don't remember. I texted Rachel about the change of plans. She decided to stay away. She does not want to deal with sick kids. I don't blame her. It started snowing today. The pictures never look as cool though.
Stockton and I went to see the Wizard of Oz at the high school. The Wizard of Oz has never been my favorite. It was fun to see the different kids I knew, especially my young women. Rachel, Zoe and Olivia were all in it. I miss watching Michael. I guess it would be a bad idea if he stayed in high school forever.

Hailey came over tonight. Jorja took my camera and they played around a lot. I adore Hailey. There are tons of pictures on here, but I couldn't decide my favorite, so I just put all of them. I am thankful Jorja has Hailey in her life.
