Jorja's Beautiful Day

The kids love ducks. Here are lots of pictures.
Jorja
The ducks love crickets. They went crazy chasing them when Mike put them in the cage yesterday. Jorja found a cricket and tried to feed it to them. They aren't as adept chasing them when they are not in their cage.

Heather was in town from Georgia. Andrew, her second oldest, is going into the MTC on Wednesday. We came down to see them! Stockton drove separately with Gavin. They left after ten minutes to go to Dani's house. She received her mission call when she was in Africa. It has been sitting unopened at their house for a few weeks. She ended up getting called to San Diego, California speaking Spanish. She will go into the Mexico MTC, just like Brandon. Except in November.

I laughed so hard when I saw Maysen with her book pillow.
Jorja and Mike made bread today. She wanted to give a loaf to a few friends. It didn't finish until close to 11:00 at night. They were still up, so we dropped the loafs off as fast as we could. She dropped a loaf and a bag of Charleston Chews at Traven's house, a loaf and a case of a weird flavor of Mountain Dew at Kenzie's house, and a loaf with two different cards at Carter's house. One card for Carter, one for his family. Carter was waiting outside when we got there. We were quite late.

Breaking 400

Stockton had a regional dive meet yesterday. It was regionals, but super small. There were only two kids in Stockton's category. This was a meet to qualify for Nationals. In order to qualify, you need to place in the top six (super easy if there is only two) and there is a minimum score that is needed. Also, if you fail two dives (out of eleven) you are disqualified. Anyway, this was a meet to qualify for San Antonio in July. It is also the last diving meet I might ever see Stockton compete in. I'm sending him to San Antonio with Gavin and his dad. I have loved watching Stockton dive. It is such a great sport. Stockton has started to love it more now that his academic pressures aren't on him. He did so good at this meet. He broke 400 on the 3 meter for the first time ever. That score qualifies for Nationals even if he wasn't top six. Stockton's coach came up to him after the meet and said, "Stockton, you need to rethink all of your college plans. You are a college caliber diver. A few months ago you weren't, but now, you are good enough to dive on the college level." How cool is that! Too bad Utah State doesn't have a dive team. Too bad the University of Utah didn't give him a great scholarship. Anyway, this was a fun meet to end on. I posted A LOT of videos. I just picked four dives from one meter and four from three. I'm going to miss this.
401b ~ inward dive pike
203b ~ back 1 1/2 pike
5422b ~ inward summersault one twist
303b ~ reverse 1 1/2 pike
There are a lot of different rules on the dives. He has to dive two dives in each of the five categories, then he can pick one free one. Also, on the first five dives, the degree of difficulty can't go over a certain amount. Kind of weird, but those are the rules.
Stockton
201b ~ back dive pike
403b ~ inward 1 1/2 pike
This was Stockton's worst dive today. But, holy cow! A three and a half! At least he landed it. The cool thing is he is just going to get better and better!
107C ~ front 3 1/2 tuck
This was Stockton's best dive. 8, 7 1/2, 7 1/2.
405 c ~ inward 2 1/2 tuck

Mike and all the kids came to watch Stockton. I'm glad they were able to see him dive so well. After we went to the Corner Bakery with Gavin, Noelle, Riley and their parents. Noelle came straight to the dive meet from efy in Logan. She looked exhausted. Riley is a new diver that lives in Draper. She is really good for just starting. She was a competitive cheerleader, but her back was injured and she can't do that anymore. She is able to do diving with her injuries, so that's cool. Once we got home we just had fun the rest of the day. Mike got the pool open for the kids (and ducks) to swim in. They had a lot of fun. Here are a lot more videos.

I have never thought my kids looked like me. I think they look more like Mike. I saw this picture of Jorja and was surprised how similar she looks to me at that age. I think it is just the angle I caught her in, but this picture surprised me so much.

USU Lagoon Day

Maysen was excited to go to Utah State's Lagoon day this year. Stockton and I didn't get season passes, but we have bounce back passes that expire in a few days. We didn't get to Lagoon as early as I hoped. Stockton wanted to dive at the Pepperwood pool to work on some of his dives for Regionals tomorrow. It worked out though because Hailey wasn't able to go earlier. Jorja ended up bringing Hailey and Dessa. They ditched us as soon as possible. They had a great time though. Although I found this picture on Jorja's phone. I don't know where she posted it. I scratched out her phone number. Grrrrr.
Hailey, Dessa and Jorja
They did find three boys. On the sky ride. The boys asked if they could share rides because there was three of them, then one of them wouldn't have to go alone. Smooth. Stockton spotted Jorja and the boys first. He sent me this picture with the caption 'Jorja with some DUDES.' Stockton and Preston had gone to Colossus while Maysen and I went on Spider. Once we met up with Stockton we ended up seeing Jorja. Still with the same dudes. I ran up to her. She was so embarrassed. I talked for a little while, it wasn't more than a few minutes when the boys awkwardly each gave the three girls a hug and left. Jorja wasn't too happy with me because the cute one liked her. Do I feel bad about chasing them away? Nope. Not even for a second.
Hailey, Dessa, Jorja, Dude
There was a couple sitting behind the girls on the sky ride. He proposed to her on the ride. Or just off the ride. I'm not sure. Kind of cool that the girls were able to watch that happen.
Stockton and I went on the Rocket. Blast Off this time. Maysen and Preston were riding the Tilt-a-Whirl rides. We met up after and saw the Marry Me balloons. The couple is looking at pictures a photographer took of them after they got off the ride.
The fun waterslide while you are wearing clothes ride is gone. Stockton wanted to go on it. This is what we found. Sad.
The kids wanted to ride the Log Flume. Usually there is a ridiculously long line. There was no one. I went with them the first time, then videoed them the second time. I tried to take a still picture too, but that turned out blurry.
We decided we wanted to finish up on Terroride. Maysen and Stockton hadn't been on it since it was redone. There was a long line, but since it was our last ride we decided to stick it out. We were almost on when the ride kept breaking. After about fifteen minutes two cars were able to go and it broke again. We waited and waited. Finally we were able to get on. Not worth the wait, but glad we were able to make it. It would have been more frustrating to wait that long and be turned away.

Fountain. Preston loves that it lights up right before it sprays, so you know when the water is coming.
We dropped Hailey off on the way home. Dessa came back with us. She wanted to see the ducks. Jorja was so happy to show them off.

Mario Ducks

So.... Mike got ducks. They arrived in the mail today. The post office called him. They thought he had ordered turkeys.

Here they are! The kids are smitten. We have two girls and one boy. They decided to name the ducks Quackletta, Princess Peep and Waddluigi.

Jorja came back from leadership camp today. The ducks came a few hours before she got home. Jorja was waiting for me at Alta with Mr. Packer and Traven. Everyone else had gone home. I came the second she called though. Jorja was so tired. She got a total of eight hours of sleep while she was gone. She left on Monday. Today is Thursday. Oh boy, she has some catching up to do. Except, ducks. Anyway, I tried to get her to sleep for a few hours before she needed to leave to Addie's house. Addie was doing a voice lesson with her before she moves up to Provo. When I scheduled this I did not realize Jorja wouldn't have any sleep while she was gone. She seemed to do fine though. I gave Addie Michael's number. I gave him Addie's number when I saw him at Aimee's wedding. Hopefully they can hang out together and not be lonely. Addie gave Jorja a picture booth picture that Carter had taken home. They took it at the Pepperwood party. She was excited to get it. Carter is in student government and is so nice to Jorja.

Jorja got a bit of sleep before I woke her up to go to the church for a trek dance practice. She did not want to go. She was so tired. And grumpy. She came back with Madison super happy though. Being around people perks her right up. It is the opposite for me.
