Extra Tooth

Preston had a dentist appointment today. He wasn't too happy with what he found out. He has an extra tooth that is growing above his front teeth and now needs to see an oral surgeon. Preston was really upset on the way home, so we drowned his sorrows at Waffle Love.

Jorja had student government camp today. Usually it is at Utah State with lots of other schools. Jorja went her sophomore year and loved, loved, loved it. She didn't go last year because she was in Taiwan. She was devastated when she found out she would miss it again. I'm glad they had something, but it didn't hold a candle to what they missed. Jorja finished the masks she made for the student body officers this morning. Talk about cutting it close! She made ten masks. Nine officers and Packer. She was hoping to get a picture, but that never happened. Still, she was glad she did it.

We were asked to bring our blow up movie screen so the kids for the kids. Packer wanted to show Tim Timmerman. I was talking to Stockton while we were setting up. I took this picture to show him what the field house looked like. This is a new addition since Stockton has graduated. Too bad I didn't take any pictures of the movie screen or the kids watching...
We set up the screen here at first, but it did not work. There are too many skylights and it was way too light. Nothing could be seen. Packer had us bring the screen upstairs. It was a little more cramped, but at least you could now see the movie! Mike and I set it up, set an alarm to come back and went home. When we came back the movie was still going, but we could hear cheering. Glad they liked it. Glad we were able to find the movie Packer wanted to show. Mike and I came home while Jorja went and hung out with some of the people at the volleyball courts. That was good because she was a little sad after camp. Riley is there and they didn't say a word to each other. It's hard because this has been Jorja's safe place and where she feels like she belongs. She's not used to feeling awkward in student government. I'm glad she got to play volleyball after and was able to cheer up. Hopefully it will get better.

More Camp

I took Preston to his Chinese/Engineering camp again. He stayed up super late last night and for some reason got up at six in the morning. That made him a bit grumpy. He didn't realize it, but just some little things were off. We were the first ones to the camp, so I waited with him at the front. He was teasing me, but it had more of an edge than usual. I was embarrassed. Just cause it was a bit mean. But not really mean. I know it was just the lack of sleep. I couldn't get Maysen or Jorja to come with me today, so I wandered around downtown by myself for three hours. I was bored out of my mind at the stores. Finally I got the brilliant idea to walk around Temple Square. Why didn't I think of that before? Preston enjoyed the camp today, but not as much as yesterday. I think it was because he was tired. He had a super tall Chinese partner who was only twelve years old. I can't remember what they did. Something with magnets and races. I'm not sure.

I got another random picture of Stockton. I LOVE it when people send these to me!
Jorja worked tonight. She was happy when she came home. She ran the closing today and they got out super fast. She was proud. Several of her student government friends also came into Chick-Fil-A today. Conner, Baylor, Ellie, Cade and Luke. Made the work day a little bit more fun. Because Jorja was at work she wasn't able to go to the pre-travel meeting for her upcoming trip with my dad. Mike and I went and picked up her binder and luggage tags. Although I lost the luggage tags before I got home. Jorja's roommate is named Olivia and she is 16 years old from Oregon. Hopefully they get along. If they do, Jorja will love this trip.

Chinese/Engineering Camp

That's right. Preston had a Chinese/Engineering camp today. It was at the Gateway. He was invited and didn't have to pay. He wasn't too excited about this. Maysen and I drove him there. It took forever to park, but after that it was smooth sailing. We dropped him off and then the two of us went shopping. We ended up driving to City Creek. We found Maysen a swimsuit that she really likes and we got her shoes. She picked out the same shoes Preston has. They fit great once they are on, but they are a bit of a struggle to get on. They are supposed to get easier as she wears them. Hope they do! Anyway, Preston ended up loving his camp. They made rockets. He was paired up with a Chinese boy. Preston said he understood him great. It was cool because lately anytime we ask him about Chinese he says he doesn't understand it. This was perfect for him.

Jorja went to lunch with Drew while we were gone. They also got slurpees for 7-11 day. Drew is such a great kid, I'm glad they were able to do this before Jorja had to head to work.

Camps

Both Stockton and Jorja started week-long camps today. Stockton started dive camp at the U. This is the first time going to dive camp there. He went for three years at BYU, but now the pool is being rebuilt so there is no dive camp. Ted started a dive camp at the U last year, but we never heard about it. Camps at the U are a ton more expensive than BYU. It was cheaper at BYU even with sleeping over. Stockton LOVED this camp. Just the diving part. He did not like anything else, so I'm glad we didn't have him stay in the dorms. He said that BYUs camp was fun, but he enjoyed the non diving parts more than the diving. BYUs camp was basically a chuck fest. This camp he loved the diving parts and learned a ton. He said his changed his hurdle during the week. That is a big deal to change something like that. Stockton loves Ted and just thrived in the pool this week. Outside of the pool he hated everything about it. All the camp counselors were swimmers and he felt that they looked down on the divers. The lectures they had to listen to were tailored to the swimmers. He just didn't have a good experience. Luckily his time in the pool was awesome enough to make him feel he was glad to attend this camp. Ted sent the dive schedule and I loved randomly looking up what Stockton was doing.
Jorja also left for EFY today. She is rooming with Miah and I am so excited for her! We met Sherry and Miah at Village Baker. We had lunch and then headed up to Provo. We arrived at the perfect time as there was no lines to wait in. We helped the girls get to their room and get their beds set up. They are going to have such a fun week. I'm glad she will have this experience with Miah!

Before we left I took the opportunity to snap a picture of her daily schedule.
Jorja wanted to change her pants. Look how cute Miah's bed is.
Jorja and Miah's room was the meeting place for their dorm. When the counselor and all the other girls started filing in Sherry told me it was time to leave. Haha. I'm so excited for them. When Mike came home from work I realized I left my water bottle at Village Baker. Luckily they still had it. I use my water bottle constantly and I love it. I wonder why I didn't notice it earlier. Anyway, Mike and Stockton came with me. We stopped at Home Depot for Mike and then drove to Lehi for my water bottle. Stockton told us all about dive camp on the way up. It was awesome. I love it when he tells us about his day. He is so funny and such a good story teller. After our successful water bottle pick up we ate at Blaze Pizza. Yummy.
I thought it was cool that Home Depot has a special parking spot for veterans wounded in combat.
Here are some pictures from Jorja's first day. She became pretty close with the girls during the week, but said the boys in her company were kind of awkward and quiet. It made her miss last years EFY a lot. She had a lot of fun with Miah and the girls though, so that is good.

Camping and Newsies

Mike and Preston seemed to have a great time at their 'camp'. Mike said he wanted to be like Clint's Dad when he grew up.

I sent this picture to Mike and Preston. This is the Subway by our house. Preston is obsessed with Subway for some weird reason. He is so much like Mike it's crazy. Preston texted back, "NOOOOO!"
Mike and I had tickets to see Newsies today. When we realized Mike wouldn't get back in time, I asked my dad. Maysen came with us too. I have never seen it before. I really liked it. My dad liked it. Maysen wasn't a fan. On our way out we saw Jack and Renee Murphy. They were in our ward as I was growing up. Renee was Tzeitel when my dad directed Fiddler on the Roof. Dad talked to Jack and I talked to Renee for a long time. Until the place closed down. Maysen was very patient.

High Adventure

Stockton left on his high adventure camp this morning.  They are going hiking and mountain biking in Moab.  We gave him the opportunity to miss this camp, but he wanted to go.  We were pleasantly surprised. He has grown up so much these last few years.  Things that would have been hard for him to handle have become no big deal.  We are so proud of him!

Jorja had an orthodontist appointment today.  She now will be wearing rubber bands.  It is only one once side, but it will still take a bit for her to get use to it.  Jorja wanted to see what it looked like, so she took selfies on my phone.  She deleted them.  I undeleted them.
Jorja
Jorja spent a long time with Katlyn today.  I picked them up at a park they had walked to.  These two have a lot of fun together.
