Good-bye

Rachel and Matt & Sam left right after church. I am still blown away that Rachel drove from Ohio with three kids by herself. That was so incredibly nice of her! Also loved having Matt and Sam and their family come down from Idaho. Jorja isn't going to see Brett's kids until she gets back from her mission in 2024. Had to get some last minute hugs in!

Cameron's Married!

Today was such a fun day! The kids had online school, but I worked today. It is weird working there with no students, but also kind of fun. When I got home Matt and Sam and their family was here. Matt called me yesterday and asked if they could stay for a few days. Mike had them playing with wand stations that he had set up. They loved it. They also had so much fun with the cauldron.

Cameron Molen got married today. Cameron and Maysen were best friends when we lived in Georgia. They were together every day. Their imaginations were awesome and they had so many adventures. It was so fun to have them together. Every week Alisha would watch my kids one day and I would watch her kids one day while we did date night. The rest of the week Alisha and I were almost always together, either at my house or hers. When we were at church Maysen would often leave us and go and sit with Cameron and his family. I had the best time living close to them. It was so sad when they moved back to Washington. I was crushed. We have seen them a couple of times since then. Maysen and I flew back to Washington for different things twice when she was in Kindergarten and 2nd grade. When Matt and Alisha moved to Arizona they stopped at our house on the way and we got to have a swimming party with them. That was the last time Maysen had seen Cameron. I'm guessing that was 8 years ago.

Anyway, Cameron got married today. He got married in the Timpanogos Temple and had his reception in Provo! Yay! It was soooooo fun to see Alisha! I was so excited! We were talking and we looked over and saw Cameron and Maysen talking to each other. I hurried to get a picture. I heard Cameron tell Maysen that he recognized her but didn't know where he knew her from. Maysen said, "I'm glad you remembered when I said Maysen." Cameron said, "Of course I remember you! You were my childhood best friend!" It was so sweet. I loved it. I'm glad I was able to come and I'm glad Maysen was able to too.

It was awesome to be with Alisha again. It's like no time has passed. Sure wish she lived closer, but glad Cameron got married near us! Mike, Maysen, Preston and I stopped to get food on the way home and then got to play with Matt! (My brother, not Cameron's dad) We had Matt try the oculus and he was a fan. Such a great day.

The Dungeon

I spent the day playing with Matt's kids. Mike showed them the magic wand stuff before he went to work. He worked from his workshop today. The kids loved it, especially the dungeon.

Jorja called and I talked with her for awhile. She said someone from Make-a-Wish contacted her. They wanted to meet with her. She had just finished the meeting when she called me. They were asking her about what she thought would be the best way to do fundraising up here in Logan and things like that. They told her there was internships available. Jorja told them that she has her mission papers in and she is waiting for her call. They were super excited and told Jorja to reach out when she gets back because Make-a-Wish isn't going anywhere. How cool is that? Jorja was pretty excited about it.

Jorja also told me another random story. She was scrolling tiktok and came across a video her roommate had commented on. It was purely random that Jorja saw it. The video was something about how the guy didn't like his roommate. Jorja's roommate commented, "My roommate is the single greatest human I've ever met." Awe. How nice is that? Jorja is pretty amazing.

I made cookies with Greg today. We made sugar cookies and then we frosted them after dinner. It was a great time. Sam told me later that she had never seen Greg stay involved in an activity like that for so long, especially cooking. Haha. We had fun.

48 Years

Today is my 48th birthday. My mom died when she was 48. Her birthday was August 18 and she died May 20, so I haven't lived exactly as long as she did yet, but it's getting close. She lived 48 years, 9 months and 3 days, or 17,809 days. That would be September 29, 2022 for me. I can't imagine leaving my family now. I wish my mom didn't have to.

We had an eggnog breakfast casserole that was pretty good. Stockton and Preston stayed up late making a game for me. They made a Mario Party board with our cabin. It was awesome and so much fun to play. I loved it.

My brother Mike gave me a Jazz shirt. Love that too!

I had rootbeer floats this year instead of cake. Yummy.
Preston had fun teasing Bear dog with treats over Jorja. Soon Mike came to the party and put peanut butter on Jorja and Preston's faces. Hahaha I would never.

Matt and Sam and their family made it up here today. We went sledding as soon as they got up here. The kids had a blast playing in the green checkers barrel. They spent a lot of time at that spot!

We played lots of games today. Concept was one of our favorites. Jorja loves that one. It is fun to watch how other peoples' minds work. Today was a great day.

We took pictures right before we went to bed. It was past midnight, so I guess technically it is tomorrow. Love, love, love, love, love this family of mine.
