Bear Bread

Jorja went hiking with Ivan today. She was excited. It is the first time we have let her hang out with him since the social distancing thing. Once they watched the sunrise in separate cars. She has begged me to let her go hiking with him. Hiking should be easy to stay six feet apart she said. I told her I didn't believe she would stay six feet apart. Welp..... Jorja is a hugger. This social distancing thing has been hard for her. Hopefully her immune system will be strong. It has failed us a lot in the past few years though.
Ivan and Jorja
I met Heather and Jordyn at Zac's for lunch today. We did better than Jorja and Ivan at social distancing, but we weren't perfect either. We sat outside at a table to eat. It was soooooo wonderful to talk with them. I love having them live so close to me. Both of them are also the only girl in their family. We relate to each other really well.

I got a sunburn just from lunch. Didn't expect that today.
Bear is still lethargic. We do give him sedatives to keep him from running around while his stitches heal. Bear came in and dropped a loaf of bread by Mike. What the???? Preston set up some play tents outside to hang out in with Mike and Bear. He loved that.

Riley had asked Jorja if she could come down and talk with him after work. Jorja came home Monday from work sad. When I asked her what was wrong she said she just friend zoned Riley. Well, they weren't able to finish talking because he had to leave. He sent her a message when she got home Monday and asked if they could talk. He said that no matter how things shake out he would still be her friend. That made Jorja feel so much better. Anyway, they talked for a long time after work. A lot longer than I would have liked! I got annoyed. But they decided that being just friends would be the best thing for them right now. Jorja came home super happy. They are planning on going on an early morning hike tomorrow. She went to bed at 1:30 and wants to get up at 5:30. She said she could get herself up. Hahahaha

Poor Bear

Today is Ben's birthday. This is the Ben that Jorja thought died when she got her wisdom teeth out. They are super good friends. Jorja spent the morning making Ben a bracelet out of Jazz colors while we binged watched a show called Upload. I worked on stockings. It was really good. We watched it through VidAngel which was nice. Lots of editing to make it more appropriate for us. Jorja picked up Ben to go to lunch together. They joked that all of their pictures look the same. Ben, minding his own business and Jorja sticking her face in front of him. The first two are from today. The last two are different days with Jorja being unaware of Ben's personal space and his glasses. Haha

Bear was neutered today. He was gone all day. He was very sleepy when he got home. The vet said he wasn't supposed to run or go up and down stairs for two weeks. Yikes! That is a long time!

I went to Chick-Fil-A to pick up food and tell Jorja to be calm when she came home. Usually she gets Bear so excited. He either hears her coming or she opens the door and screams 'Bear!' Bear will run as fast as he can to her and half the time pee on the way because he is so excited. We have to remember to take him outside before he sees Jorja. This time Jorja texted us so we could have Bear be calm when she got there. Still, they cuddled for a long time.

Mirror

Jorja asked if she could go take pictures with Hailey. She wanted to see Hailey's new car. I told her okay and to try to be safe and social distance. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do here, so we are just trying to follow what our state is recommending at the time.
Jorja ~ naturally curly hair after wraping it up all night... she HATES when her hair is frizzy
Then I see pictures on her phone like this! Not social distancing! Not even close! Jorja was just supposed to be with Hailey. Jorja said when they got to Hailey's house, Emily and Allison were there. They were on a bike ride.

The trend right now is to take pictures with a mirror. That was also the trend when Jorja was five. I have a couple of mirror pictures of Jorja that age. Beautiful then, beautiful now.

Today is Star Wars day. May the fourth be with you.... It is also Skye's 14th birthday! It is also Jessie's 31st birthday. I went and got flowers to put on her grave. I always forget that her grave is different than my mom's. They are at the same cemetery though. I didn't take a picture of the entire thing, but this plaque is in front of a huge tombstone that says HODSON. On both sides of the tombstone are vases. Inside these vases were beautiful artificial flowers. I didn't want to disturb them, so I laid the flowers on Jessie's grave and sent a picture to Lisa. Her mom that lives in California.
Jessie's grave
After awhile I started thinking that these were just going to get lost. I decided to move them to my mom's grave. When Lisa texted me thanks I told her I moved the flowers. But they were bought for Jessie and Jessie is still remembered and loved. Next time I'm going to buy flowers that comes with a vase! It was nice to have such pretty flowers at my mom's grave though.

Call of the Wild

Today was really fun. For church we watched a Book of Mormon movie about King Benjamin's speech in Mosiah. Then we listened to Hank Smith's 'The Marvelous Book of Mosiah'. It was great. My dad also did a little message and then we played Jackbox with my family over zoom. It was a lot of fun!

Mike, Preston and I watched Call of the Wild. Preston had to read this book before quarantine and we had wanted to take him to see the movie. Bear watched most of the movie with us. Mike and Preston loved it. It was funny because he was so interested! He watched most of the movie until there was a scary part where someone was being mean to the dogs. Then he ran away and never came back.

Scoop and Cori bought Maysen and Stockton a lot of stuff to help them with college when Stockton started his freshman year. Today I finished the last box of Stockton's dryer sheets. I sent Stockton this picture to mark the occasion.

Riley took Jorja's painting home and she took his. She wants to get a collection. She has a painting from both Sam and Ivan too.

A few of the student body officers got together at Sadler's house today. Sadler, Dallin, Brenton and Joe. They had s'mores and played smash ball. Hopefully the world will get under control so things can get back to semi-normal. Jorja would love that.

Masked Mike

Mike was so proud. He figured out how to make a mask out of underwear. Haha. These are his compression shorts that he used. What a weirdo.
Mike
I was working upstairs and got a text from Mike to come to Preston's room. I told the kids that I bet Dad is sleeping on a bed with the dog. Yep. That is what he wanted to show me. He was sleeping in a bed with Bear. Bear is NOT allowed on our bed. The kids love having him hop on theirs though.

Found this picture of Grandma Parry, Mike and Grandpa Parry ~ I miss them!
We let Preston's friend Jack come over today. He wore a mask and they practiced social distancing. Preston was so happy. We could hear them giggling constantly. I went outside when Jack's mom came to pick him up. I stayed six feet away and talked to her while she was in her car. We talked for a long time. It was really nice to be able to interact with someone out of the house. She is super nice. I'm so glad Preston and Jack have so much fun together!
