27th Anniversary

Today was our 27th wedding anniversary. It is a little weird for me because my parents had been married 27 years when my mom died. I can't imagine thinking this is it for this life. She did live 4 months and 20 days after her anniversary, still..... breaks my heart. Mike and I went all out for our anniversary this year. We went to Chick-Fil-A by ourselves! We brought home food for the kids. Jorja kept telling us to do something bigger, but I just don't want to be gone when she is still here. We are soaking up all the time we have with her, pretty soon we won't have that opportunity. Mike and I still had a great time. We aren't fancy.

26 Years

Mike and I have now been married 26 wonderful years. He is the best. I hit the jackpot. He has given me such an amazing life. I sure have been lucky! Mike wanted to go to this Brazilian place for lunch. Preston also has wanted to go there for a long time. Preston called from school and asked if I could check him out. He was sick. I picked him up and he went straight downstairs and slept for a few hours. Maysen was here while we went to lunch. It was nice knowing that she could take care of him if he woke up earlier than I expected him to. He didn't though. Lunch was delicious. We even splurged and got a fancy drink. To share. It was really good.

Marie got her school pictures taken today. Rachel texted me a picture. She was wearing clothes Jorja gave her. Doesn't she look adorable!

I wanted to go somewhere for dessert later in the day. Because Mike picked the food place I got to pick the dessert place. Maysen and Preston came with us. I tried to go to this rolled ice cream place that I had seen. I couldn't remember the name, but I thought I knew where it was. I know Maysen has been wanting to go to a rolled ice cream place for awhile. I ended up not being able to find it. I did have a back up plan. I have been wanting to go to Brooker's ice cream for awhile. I knew they were in Provo, but now they have a Herriman location. It was only a few minutes away from where I thought the rolled ice cream place was, so we headed over there. Man oh man, it was delicious!!! It was cute and fun too. I took pictures to send to John and Cassie. Brandon loves early American history, especially George Washington. And the titanic. He loves that too.

I had a scoop of Roger Sherman's Banana Foster Brittle (pictured below) and a scoop of Franklin's Black Raspberry Republic, If You Can Keep It ~ sooooooo dang good!
Mike had Mum Bett's Day in Court, Maysen had John Hancock's Signature Mint Chocolate Truffle and Preston had Martha Washington's Colonial Cotton Candy. You would think this would just be a gimmick ice cream shop, but the ice cream was really, really, really good. Can't wait to go back!

Twenty Five Years

Mike and I were married 25 years ago. That seems crazy! I have been so lucky. Mike is the absolute best. I can not imagine my life without him. I am so lucky that he makes decisions quick! We were engaged shortly after he came home. Well, he kind of asked me to marry him the day after he came home. Not really, he wanted to know the answer before he officially asked the question. I took a week to answer him. I wanted to make sure I wasn't marrying him just because I wasn't married when he came home. I know that is crazy. Mike was my dream. Still, I wanted to make sure I did the right thing. The first time I ever saw Mike was in seminary class. The teacher asked us to introduce ourselves by saying our name and one interesting thing about us. I don't know what I said, but I remember Mike at the front of the class saying his name was Mike and he had three bowls of Fruity Pebbles for breakfast. As soon as he said that I heard words in my head that said, "That's who you are going to marry." WHAT? I kind of laughed to myself. The girl next to me asked what was so funny. I told her nothing. I was shocked. First of all, I was 15 and had never once thought about marriage. I wasn't interested in dating or anything like that. Second of all, I was extremely shy. It was obvious Mike was the kind of person I wouldn't even talk to. It was obvious he was popular and way out of my league. Third of all, like I said, I was FIFTEEN! Anyway, the next class was history and Mike was in that class. We had a seating chart and he was seated next to me. I couldn't believe it. He spent the next few months constantly trying to get my attention. I would ignore him. Mike likes to joke that he spent forever trying to get me to talk to him and once I did he could never get me to stop! Anyway, we became close friends for the next two years. We started dating our senior year. Then were married exactly three months from when he came home from his mission. I know that seems crazy, but we had known each other for six years by this point. Also, it turned out that the day we picked was the only time my mom would have been able to come to my wedding. I went to the temple for the first time the week before I was married. We came home to find a message on the answering machine that my mom's cancer was back and she needed to start radiation right away. This was a Saturday. I was getting married the next Friday. My mom waited a week so she could be at my wedding. I feel this was a tender mercy. We prayed and prayed and prayed for my mom to get better. That was not Heavenly Fathers plan, but he set it up so she could see one of her kids get married. Her only daughter. I know that was important to her and I am extremely grateful I was able to have her there. She was too sick to help my plan the wedding. She was quarantined after her bone marrow transplant for months. I remember begging the invitation printers to let me bring their book of invitations home so I could show my mom the one I wanted. They were nervous about it, but let me do it anyway. My mom died nine months after we were married. Wow. Didn't mean to go down that rabbit hole. So, in summary... Mike is the best and cancer is the worst. Hahaha Here are a few pictures from our wedding.

Jorja texted me at 5:30 in the morning. She was at Ella's house. She stayed up all night talking. The other girls (Ella, Gabby, Giselle, Ellie, Grace, Liza) had just fallen asleep, but she was wide awake. She told me that they ended up moving the sunrise thing to Storm Mountain park because the student government kids didn't want to go to Alta. So, she decided she would go to that. Welp, that didn't turn out to be what happened. Jorja and the other girls went to Storm Mountain, but the other people weren't there. Ella got a call from Bode telling them to come to Alta. By this time Jorja had been up all night and was not thinking clearly. They decided it would be okay as long as no one posted pictures with them in it. Looking through Jorja's phone, there was a picture she took at Storm Mountain, then several pictures at Alta, then she accidentally took a screen shot of driving directions to Kneaders. She was there for about twenty minutes. So, she went and took pictures, then left. (She had a TON of pictures.) Well, anyway, someone there posted a picture with them in it. I don't even have the picture posted. That picture got shared over and over and now Jorja is in big trouble. People are mad because it looked like student government invited only their friends, when in reality it was dance company that invited student government. Jorja was so mad because she didn't intend to go. If it had never been moved to Storm Mountain, she never would have been tempted to go, but in the moment one thing led to another and before she knew it she was there. Packer was so mad at them. He told Jorja he was the most disappointed in her out of everybody. She was pretty sad. Honestly, I blame Packer for this. He has such a doom and gloom attitude that he gives the student government no hope. Jorja didn't think they would get a senior sunrise, so this seemed like at least something she could do. Turns out they are having one next week. If Jorja had an idea that was happening there would have been no way she would have gone. I don't know why Packer is so secretive about everything. Why can't he just tell the kids we will try our best. The world is changing quickly every day, but if there is any way we can pull it off, we will do it. Now, Jorja is banned from going to the real senior sunrise. Packer let her choose her own punishment. Skip senior sunrise or skip homecoming activities.

We had a low key evening. We ordered food from IHOP and watched Mulan with the kids. Mike had been excited about this and I only fell asleep for a little bit. Doesn't sound too exciting, but both of us felt like a night in tonight. Plus, we don't have many movie nights with our family left.

Early Anniversary

Mike and I have our 23rd wedding anniversary tomorrow. Maysen has chosen to go through the Logan temple that day. We are so excited. We decided to celebrate tonight so tomorrow can be all about Maysen. Mike came home early from work and we drove up to Logan. Jorja stayed over at Hailey's house and my dad came up here and stayed with Preston. The plan was to have Preston stay at my dad's house, so this was a last minute change. Also why Jorja was at Hailey's instead of here. There was an Alta football game today. Jorja went with Hailey, obviously. Here are some pictures I got off of her phone.

Mike and I stopped at Joe's Trophy to pick up two missionary plaques that were finished today, then we headed up to Logan. It wasn't until we arrived and saw tons of bikes everywhere that we realized LOTOJA was starting tomorrow. LOTOJA is a huge three state 200+ mile race that starts in Logan, Utah and ends in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Logan was packed. Mike and I decided to go to dinner early to beat the rush. We went to the Bluebird. It was delicious. Next we walked to this giant Smith's store. I think it is a Smith's/Fred Meyer store. We were looking for a light for Stockton's club house. We also saw barstools that were on sale. They were in a box and you would need to put them together, but they were $15 a piece. We decided to come back tomorrow and pick four up because we had walked to the store and it was a long walk. (Spoiler alert: we totally forgot about the barstools. Oh well.) Jorja texted me tonight to let me know she didn't get a part in James and the Giant Peach, not even ensemble. She was "pretty disappointed and way embarrassed." Poor girl.

Twenty-Two Years

Today is our 22nd anniversary. I am super thankful that Mike makes quick decisions and sticks with them. Now he has to put up with me forever! I sure lucked out! Mike came home early from work today. We went to the Cheesecake Factory. Love having gift cards! Turns out we didn't take a picture of us, but I managed to get some of the cheesecake! Priorities, you see.
I knew Stockton and Jorja would love the chocolate one. I was surprised how good the celebration cheesecake was. Delicious! Jorja had a great day at school. The winners of the freshman class election were announced. She went to advisory with the student government people for the first time today. She was put on the homecoming assembly committee. She's super pumped about that. When I mentioned we were going to the cabin over conference she told me she was supposed to decorate for homecoming that weekend. What? Homecoming isn't until the next weekend. I guess they have to decorate for homecoming week. Drat. Still, I'm really excited she has this opportunity.

Jorja's new phone came in the mail today. Now I can have my phone back! I wanted to send Jorja to school unplugged for one day, but Stockton convinced me that it wasn't a good idea. He predicted that the first day in student government everyone would be sharing contact information and Jorja needed to be included in that. He was right, but it would have been nice to not have her so connected for a little while. I took Jorja to Hailey's soccer game. Allison met Jorja there. I talked to Hailey's mom for a bit. Jorja was invited to Jacob's birthday party. He was in her advisory class and she was friends with him a few years ago. I dropped her off at Storm Mountain park. Where she told me the party was. She felt better when she saw Drew. Perfect! I wasn't too far away when she called me and told me she was at the wrong park. Drew was there for a ward party. He is super fun and we stayed and chatted with him, his friends and his parents for about half an hour. I was telling Drew's mom how much we appreciated him and his support for Jorja during the election. He carried her sign every day and was so vocal about supporting her. Drew is super funny and everyone likes him, so this helped Jorja a lot. Stockton would give him a high-five every time he passed him in the halls. Drew said he kind of regretted not running himself and maybe he would next year. Jorja told him just not to run against her! We are lucky Drew didn't run. It was nice to have him behind Jorja for sure!

I drove Jorja to Draper park. I was totally nervous when I dropped her off. It had gotten dark and it looked kind of scary. I waited in the car while she got out and then texted me that she was good. I told her to text us the second she wanted to be picked up, even if it was only in 15 minutes. After she had been there about 45 minutes Mike texted Jorja to ask how things were. She was ready to be picked up. I hurried down there as fast as I could. Jorja said it kind of turned into a make-out party, so she stood awkwardly next to a garbage can for a long time. Oooookayyy then..... Glad we got you back! Jorja was talking to Isaac on speaker phone telling him about the party. Mike yelled from the other room, "Thank you Isaac for not being at the make-out party! Wait....why weren't we at the make-out party? It's our anniversary!" I told him it was okay because we could just make out here. That caused Jorja to run away yelling, "GROSS!" Mike called after her, "You're right! Kissing is gross! Remember that! Kissing is gross!" Hahahaha!!!! We ended up watching Wonder Woman downstairs. Surprisingly I fell asleep during the movie. I really tried to stay awake. I just never make it! I think the movie was good, I'm really not sure. I saw the ending but had no idea what was happening.

Well, that is a wrap for our anniversary this year. Mike got us tickets to see Kristin Chenoweth next month. That will be fun. I sure love my life! Mike is amazing.

Our 21st Anniversary

Today was such a great day!  Mike stayed home from work, or worked from home.  I'm not really sure.  It was nice to have him around.  We went to lunch at Outback.  Scoop and Cori had given us a gift card there a couple of years ago.  It was perfect to have a nice meal that cost us $2. Mike is building me a table for our anniversary.  He was hoping to have it done by now, but I made him take me to Arizona last weekend so that fouled up his plans.  He mentioned that he had another gift for me. Uh-oh.  I had to think of something for him quick!  Luckily I knew what I wanted to get him, I just didn't know if he would think it was dumb or not.  I ended up getting him a small 3D printer.  He loves it! Yay! Preston loves it too.  Mike and Preston printed out Dominion card holders.  This way we can play Dominion while we are driving in the motorhome!  That will be fun!
Mike got me a DVR player to use on the regular tv.  That will be nice.  It looks like we will be able to record conference this year after all.  He also got me a 3 month sling TV subscription so I can watch BYU football games.  That was the one thing that was going to be hard about giving up the satellite.

We had a busy afternoon.  I went to Back to School night for Preston. This is the last time I will have three separate back to school nights. Weird.  I was able to get home before Mike and Jorja had left for her softball game.  Jorja played catcher for two of the three innings.  She did fantastic!  She also got a really hard hit into right field.  Once when Jorja was up she walked, but on the fourth ball the girl tried to steal home.  She got out and that was three outs.  Too bad she didn't steal home when Jorja only had three balls!  Kind of felt like a strike out walking off the field.
Jorja the catcher
It's sad this day is over.  It was such a fun, relaxing, enjoyable day. What a great life I have!

Our 20th Anniversary

Today Mike and I celebrated our 20th anniversary.  I feel so lucky.  I have no idea what I did to be so blessed, but I'm very grateful.  Anyone who knows anything about Mike knows how lucky I am.
Mike & Stephanie
Mike stayed home from work today.  He finally had a dentist appointment!  He has a cracked tooth and will need a root canal.  I can't remember everything that is wrong with Mike's teeth.  I know his allergies have been a part of some of the pain.  Hopefully they will do an excellent job on the root canal and that this will solve all of his pain problems.  Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Maysen had her statistics class tonight.  She drove Mike and I to her class.  We then waited for her at the Village Inn across the street.  Not a super fancy place for an anniversary dinner, but it was close to Maysen's class and this is where Mike gave me a diamond heart ring before he left on his mission.  Well, it was at the Provo Village Inn.  He also pretended to propose to me at a Village Inn.  He thinks he's hilarious.  He ended up officially proposing to me by the rock we are standing next to in the above picture.

We are (hopefully) doing something amazing for our 20th anniversary. For our 10th anniversary we took our three kids on a cruise.  They randomly had an entire week off of school in September.  Our anniversary was right smack dab in the middle of it.  That was fun. This time we are most likely going to be able to do something better. We are in the process of buying my Grandpa's cabin.  My Uncle John needed to sell Grandpa's cabin after he died.  Well, Uncle John owned more of the cabin than Grandpa did.  We were hoping to go in on the cabin with other family members.  Maybe own 1/6th of the cabin.  No one else (but my brothers) wanted to go in with us.  We then started talking to my brothers to see if they would help us pull this off.  All of them were willing to contribute some, but three of them live far away and rarely get to the cabin.  It didn't make sense for them to put their entire inheritance from Grandpa in.  Mike and I started talking about trying to buy the entire thing ourselves.  We are working on the financing right now and think we will be able to do it.  My brothers might take the money they are going to get from the sell of the cabin and buy some 4-wheelers or snowmobiles.  Mike and I definitely won't have money for toys for awhile!  We told the kids, "New college plan.  You all get scholarships!"

This cabin means so much to us.  My little family had two favorite places in the entire world.  The cabin and Mike's childhood home. Mike's house has been sold and demolished.  We couldn't bear the thought of losing the cabin.  We figure if the cabin becomes too hard financially we could always sell it.  Then we would know we tried everything we could do.  Our kids are really excited about it.  All of them wanted us to keep the cabin.  Maysen says, "It's the last place of my childhood."  Crazy that she's right.  It's also the last place of my childhood.  When our kids are married and have kids of their own, how cool will it be to say, "Your great-great grandma spent a lot of time here.  She loved it."  The cabin was a sanctuary for my brothers and I after my mom died.  It was a place where we could be together and felt like we belonged.  My mom loved it here.  I love that.  Anyways, keep your fingers crossed for us!  We feel like we are making a good decision. Logically it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it feels right.  I hope it feels that way because it is the right thing to do, not because I want it so badly!  I guess only time will tell.  I'm so glad Mike loves this place as much as I do.

19th Anniversary

I was all set to go to an Insanity class after I got the kids out the door for school.  On my way I checked my phone.  Becky sent me a text asking me if I wanted to hike to the waterfall.  Immediately I thought that sounded like more fun.  I did not think I would be able to handle both.  It worked out great because I was able to get some final things set for our Beehive activity tomorrow.  The hike was great!  I love being with these girls.  They are so much fun.  The weather was perfect for hiking.  So much fun!
Stephanie
One of Mike's favorite places on earth
Four of us made it to the waterfall.  Stephanie did not.  She was so close, but we were told the rocks were super slippery.  She was carrying her one year old on her back and he was getting fussy.  She let him out to play and waited for a bit.  It seemed to do the trick, Wally was happy the entire way down. Wally's real name is Lincoln, but no one calls him that.

Today is my 19th anniversary.  I am so lucky!  Mike is the best person on the planet.  No idea how I convinced him to stick around with me!
Mike & Stephanie
Mike gave me a soft-serve ice-cream machine for our anniversary.  This will go great with Jorja's cookies!  He has a fancy one coming later. The kids were pretty excited about this one.  I gave Mike stale peeps.  I saved them for months.  He has always said he loves the stale ones.  I open the packages as soon as I buy them, but he loves peeps so much he never waits for them to get as stale as he likes them.  Turns out he doesn't like them super stale like I thought he did.  Oh well.  Live and learn.

Mike and I went to the Church History Museum.  It was nice to be able to look at things and go at our own pace without worrying about anything.  (I have taken the Young Women here twice.)  We went to dinner at Blue Lemon and walked around the Salt Lake Temple grounds.  It was a wonderful stress-free evening.

18th Anniversary

I hurt so bad!  I can barely move.  Wow, oh wow.  Hopefully it gets better.  It's got to be good for me, right?

Today was the primary program.  It is so nice to just watch and enjoy without having any responsibility.  Preston sat in the front row and was so well behaved!  He had his arms folded any time he stood up to sing. Wow.  School really has been good for him!  Both Preston and Jorja did such a good job on their parts.  They spoke clearly and slow.  Not too slow, just not super fast like a lot of the kids tend to do.  Preston was disappointed that I didn't record his part.  I did take a picture of him before church.  We got there pretty early and he was sitting on a row by himself.  Most of the kids were sitting on the stand, but Preston sat in the Bishops chair, so he had to wait until after the sacrament before he could go up on the stand.  I was surprised how well behaved all the kids were.  They probably seemed so well behaved because I wasn't in charge.  If I was, I'm sure I would have noticed every little distraction and worried way too much about it.
Preston
Mike gave me a heated toilet for our anniversary.  He actually put it together yesterday, but I didn't want to put the pictures up until today.  It is awesome!  They have these all over Japan.  I thought they were the coolest thing.  It is extra nice today because my legs are SOOOO sore! Mike can always think of the best presents.
Mike installing our new toilet seat.
 Heated toilet seat = awesome
The remote in case you want to use the squirty features.  Haha!
After church Mike and I watched Harry Potter 4 with Jorja.  She finished the book a long time ago and has been wanting to watch the movie.  Shannon called to see if we wanted to come over, but the movie didn't finish until 7:00.  We ended up not being able to go, but we did get Family Home Evening done. I was in charge of the dessert and had talked Mike into making soufflés.  Yummy!  The kids didn't think so.  I don't think I'm going to stress too much about the eating part of our exercise class yet.  Baby steps here.  Mike and I went to bed early because we got to go to the gym early tomorrow.  Seriously, I have the best husband!

Thousands of Flags

Mike was up early this morning fixing something with the pool.  It should be done soon!  I hope we will get to swim in it a few times this summer!
Mike
Mike called me and asked if I would find the main pool guy out back.  I needed to give him a check for $5,000 before they would start to put the liner in.  I told him I was excited that it was almost finished but that I was really disappointed that my brother who came from Ohio didn't get to swim in it with his family.  Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would take this long.  He apologized and said, "I wish I didn't take this project.  Your project has put me behind on my other pools.  I had no idea how much work would need to be done.  As you can see, I've had my workers here for the past few days putting me behind on my other work."  I'm thinking, "You have got to be kidding me!  This has been more expensive and taken a lot longer than we agreed upon.  It has taken longer because you would only send your workers for a couple of hours a week!  The other pools that you are behind on because of us were all scheduled AFTER you met with us!"  Whatever.  I was nice though because they still had to put in the $5,000 liner.  I am SO GLAD Mike got the fence for Malone up.  He would have ruined this in two seconds flat.  He was always running down to the bottom of the pool to drink whatever rain water had collected there.  I can just imagine his paws on that liner.  What would we have done then?
The wrinkles are supposed to be gone as the pool fills with water.
There was a police officer that was killed on Sunday.  Some idiot shot him while he was in his car.  This officer was about my brother Matt's age, I think.  He went to the same high school Mike and I did.  Maysen now goes there.  He was also Ashley's (one of my beehives) DARE officer.  It is extremely sad.  His funeral is today.  They are holding it at the Maverick Center and he will be buried in the cemetery by my house. There are thousands of flags lining the route to the cemetery.  I waited for about thirty minutes for the motorcade.  My dad called and asked if I had Matt's Dominion games.  I had several in my car and some at my house.  Matt wanted to take them to Idaho.  (They are going there for a baptism in Sam's family.)  So, I left my spot and dropped off the games I had at my dad's house.  As I was leaving the school called and said that Jorja had missed the bus.  I told them I would get there as soon as I could, but I might get stopped by the motorcade.  I didn't, thank heavens!  Jorja was upset because she couldn't find her lunchbox.  We found it and hurried home.  As I pulled in the driveway I got a phone call from HOME.  It was Preston calling me asking if I remembered it was short day.  I am so glad we have taught him how he can get inside if we are not there!
Maysen was about a half an hour late getting home.  I started to get worried.  I was pretty sure her bus was stopped by the motorcade, but a few days ago she missed the bus when the bell didn't ring in her last class.  I didn't know if that had happened.  I decided to drive and see if I could find her.  I could not believe how many police officers were at the cemetery.  There were hundreds of police cars.  I have never seen anything like it.  My friend watched the motorcade with her children. They watched for an hour and a half.  They had to leave, but they still couldn't see the end of the police.  Seriously it is indescribable.
Anyway, as I was driving I saw two buses drive by.  Neither was Maysen's bus number.  I tried to go around the block to see if Maysen was on it anyway.  Big mistake.  The street was all blocked off.  I ended up being forced a different way, so I decided to drive to the high school. Right as I got there I received a call from home saying Maysen was home.  Maysen said they were stopped on a hill for thirty minutes.  She was on the bus with the different number, her bus had broken down yesterday.

Jorja and Preston had fun looking at the pool in the back.  We need to leave the water running until there is about an inch of water in the shallow end.  That should happen some time tomorrow.  Then we wait until they come back on Monday (hopefully!) so they can cut the stairs out.
Preston and Jorja
Jorja and Preston had a stake primary activity today.  It was at the stake center, which is right next to the cemetery.  The entire parking lot was filled with police cars.  They were just leaving as we arrived.  I had Jorja take a picture.  It is hard to see, but it says, "Stockton police".
Stockton Police Car
Mike and I picked up the kids after their Pirate Primary activity and then headed to the gym.  We signed up for a class called Body by Banks.  Our friend from high school has done the class and loves it.  I thought, "What the heck, I'm almost 40, this class will be good for us."  I didn't realize that the class starts tomorrow until the lady told us to come for weigh-ins at 5:30 in the morning!  Oh boy.  Mike and I have our anniversary on Sunday.  We decided if we were going to get weighed in, we might as well go out to dinner tonight instead of tomorrow!  I asked the kids if they would take our picture.  They did.  Then Stockton grabbed the camera and made me get my picture taken over and over. He was pretending I was going to the first day of school.  He was laughing so hard as he kept telling me what to do.  He amused himself for close to twenty minutes when Mike grabbed the phone away from him.

Hold up 8 fingers because your anniversary is on the 8th!
Now hold up two fingers because it is in two days.
Face the back and look at me.
 Now a picture with Preston.
 Wave!
 High five.
 Silly faces.
Stockton is a crack up.  Mike and I ended up going to dinner at the Salt Lake Burger Factory.  I think that is the correct name.  I had never been there before.  I had the bacon hamburger.  It has bacon inside the hamburger.  Pretty delicious.  My favorite was the sweet potato fries. Yum!  Yum!  Yum!  I think I have had these kind of fries before, but there is no way they were as good as the ones I had tonight.

Mike was teasing me about not wearing make-up very often.  (I did wear it tonight.)  He said that he is at work all day with girls all dressed up, and then he comes home to me.  Haha!  That sounds so mean, but it really wasn't.  We were laughing and joking and it was not mean at all. I said, "You knew I rarely wore make-up when you married me."  Mike pointed out that every time we were on a date I always wore make-up.  I said, "No problem.  I will always wear make-up when you take me out on a date."  Haha!  He had to laugh at that one!
