Sweaters and Coins

Jorja went to Alta today to talk with the student government and PLT classes. She is going to Alta again on Monday, so they are getting a lot of Jorja! Jorja asked me if I would go and pick up some Krispy Kremes for those classes. I did not realize how expensive they would be. I bought half as much as I planned and we hurried and cut them in half before she brought them. Jorja went out to lunch with Ben, which was nice. It's been a long time since she's seen him! Before she headed back to Logan we got a picture of her and Mike with their sweaters and coins. They were both student body officers for Alta and both were awarded the Alta coin. Supposedly this coin will get them into any future Alta event for free. (Might just be sporting events, I'm not sure.) Mike has never tried his out, so it would be interesting to see if it worked! Haha Cool that they both were given one though! Jorja's coin is engraved on back. I should get Mike's engraved to match!

Spotlight

About a year ago Preston took Mike's phone and set it up so he gets a random picture as his screensaver for the day. It picks from pictures Mike has in his favorites. Anyway, Mike's screenshot from today was a picture we took when Jorja was running for freshman public relations. Jorja is coming home today. Mike sent this picture when she texted us that she was leaving and said, "Traffic cameras caught this view of Jorja making her way home."

Jorja
A few minutes later Jorja texted us this picture with the caption "I'm at a spotlight don't worry"
Stockton texts back this... I have never heard Jorja call a stoplight a spotlight. Maybe it was autocorrect?
We had dinner down at my dad's house today. Matt and Sam are in town. It is also Amy's birthday tomorrow. She will be three. She is good at holding up three fingers. My dad made her a dairy free strawberry cake. It was delicious.

We hurried and left when we realized Jorja was almost home. I took a picture of her when she was still in the driveway talking to Ella. It totally scared her when she saw me. Haha

Jorja was able to check out a Utah State car because she is going as an ambassador. The car was really nice and she didn't need to pay for gas. She said it was the nicest car she has ever driven, she has only driven duct taped cars before. Hahahaha. Well, Jorja.... lots of the reasons for the duct tape was because of you. Haha. That's okay though. Jorja took me on a ride. We went to Arctic Circle, but it was closed. We then went to Dutch Bros for hot chocolate. It was fun to have a chance to talk with her. I'm glad she is having such a great time in Logan.

Just Stuff

Preston had an orthodontist appointment this morning. Late start is awesome for getting appointments in. The girl taking his elastics off was pretty rough. I cringed watching her. Still, the appointment was pretty fast that we stopped and got Chick-Fil-A before his teeth started hurting him.

Jorja's science class she took in the summer was finally added to her transcript. I called the other day and asked about it. Because the transcripts were sent so close together, they thought it was accidentally sent. Once I talked to them they were able to get her grade on and her class marked as completed. Now if only Jose would change Jorja's grade to the A she earned instead of the B+ he gave her. He has told her multiple times he sent the paperwork in to change her grade. The registrars office said they would have changed it right away if he did. Judging by how he treated Jorja when she asked about her grade at the start of this entire debacle.... I'm guessing Jose never sent the paperwork in. Or he did it incorrectly. So annoying.

We signed up Maysen for graduation today! Utah State is having a graduation ceremony for the 2020 graduates. That will be fun to have a reason to go down to Logan and celebrate with Maysen. I was unable to get the cool hotel room we had booked last time though. It is also Homecoming weekend, so everything was already sold out when they announced the graduation. Still, it will be fun to celebrate this with Maysen.

Rodizio

Maysen got her new article assignments today. She has to write five articles on Rodizio style dining. They are all a little bit different. When Mike found that out he thought we needed to do some research for lunch. So, we hopped in the car and drove to Brasa Grill. We decided to try the one down in Lehi. We drove down there only to find out they are not open for lunch. Didn't expect that! We then drove to Brasa Grill by Fashion Place Mall. Delicious as always. I drove home so Mike could get on his work call. Technology is great.

Maysen likes to use Bear as a pillow when we are reading scriptures.

Fricken-Fracken-Dag-Nab-It

Mike, Preston and I went to a fireside tonight for Stake Standards Night. Each of the wards were assigned one of the standards and they had to make a presentation about it. Our ward had gratitude. Some of the videos were so funny. Our favorite was the language one. Jorja's friend Paige was in it, even though I'm pretty sure she is in a different stake. Anyway, it was filmed at Alta and Paige used bad words. She said, "Bleep-bleep-bleep" Her friend told her not to use bad language and that she should use substitute words. Then Paige said, "Fricken-fracken-dag-nab-it!" Then she said, "Woah! Now I feel the spirit!" Hahahaha - it was so funny!

Six Fish

Mike, Preston, Scoop and Steve spent the morning fishing at Bridger Lake. It sounded like they had a great time. Scoop and Steve left a little before Mike and Preston, but those guys got home by 5:00. I was pleasantly surprised! Bear dog kept me quite busy while Mike was gone! I did manage to deep clean the shower today. Spent way too long doing that, but it is nice to have done.

Steak for Dinner

Maysen and I drove down to Salt Lake so she could turn in some paperwork for her new job. She didn't have to go to the Friday meeting today, but we thought it would be a great time to see what lunch places are near her building. She is in North Salt Lake, kind of in a warehouse area. Her building is really nice though. There is a place called 'Handle Bar' that is close enough to walk. We decided to check that out. It really is a bar. We were carded and everything when we arrived. The server kept trying us to get a drink saying that 'he wouldn't tell.' The food was great though. Maysen loved it. I'm glad that if she doesn't bring a lunch she has an easy option.

Mike and Preston spent the day fishing at Bridger Lake. Scoop and Steve came up today and fished with them. They all stayed in the motorhome. Sounded like they had the best time, even though cows decided to camp with them. Here are random pictures from the day.

Jorja sent me a lot of pictures from today too. Looks like she had a lot of fun! She doesn't have classes on Fridays, but when there is a home football game the ambassadors end up doing a lot. She loves it.

Wingspan

Maysen had her first full work from home day. I spent some time cleaning the fridge. I took some before and after pictures to send to Rachel. Haha. It was actually pretty relaxing and I'm loving it now.

Mike took Preston to Bridger Lake. They have gone here for the past five years or so. They go after the campground is officially closed. The lake is empty and they love it. Mike's dad and Steve are going to meet them there tomorrow. Mike is pretty excited about it. Mike left Bear behind, so it will be a long weekend for me. Every year Mike and Preston buy a new game to try out of this trip. This time they bought Wingspan. It is a game about birds. It is actually pretty fun. We were able to play it a couple of times before they left. Preston loves games, the more complicated the better.

Major Change

Jorja called me today wanting to know how to change her major. Right now she is a communications major, but she wants to go to more undecided. She asked about getting a public relations major, but Utah State doesn't have one of those. There is a journalism major with a public relations emphasis. I don't know if she would be interested in that. She has an appointment with her counselor coming up. Hopefully they will be able to answer all of her questions.
Maysen finished her training today. It is going to be nice for her not to have to drive down to Salt Lake tomorrow. Now she gets to start writing articles. They will start her out slow. Right now she has three articles to write about jewelry. One is about gem stones. One is about wedding bands and I can't remember what the third one is about. Now instead of writing essays for grades she will get to write articles for cash. I think she will like that a lot more.
