Possessed Stockton for the Win!

This video is a bit of a presentation Jorja had to do for Chinese. She does not like to speak Chinese around me, but I love to hear her speaking it. I think it is crazy that she is fluent in this language. She is embarrassed because she has a 'white girl accent'. Haha. Easy to find faults in yourself. That is what she sees. We are all floored by her being able to speak, write and read Chinese. I also thought it was funny because in the middle she asks how to say a word. It made the video shorter so I could post it and it is adorable.

Jorja's prom dress couldn't be cleaned or dry-cleaned... so into the freezer it goes!
Mike, Stockton, Preston and I have been playing a lot of Dominion lately. I had the best win today! I won the game when I took possession of Stockton's hand. It was the second province I got that way that game, but how fun (for me) to win it that way! Stockton did not have the same opinion of this situation as I did.

Campsites

I have been having troubles finding a campsite at the Grand Canyon. I really want to go there over Spring Break, but things haven't worked out... until today. This morning I saw there was a RV campsite in the Grand Canyon, but the only day was Saturday. That isn't the day I want to be there, but we could do the Grand Canyon the last day of our trip instead of the beginning. I was anxious for Mike to get off his work call so I could book it. There was only one site left. I had to go get Jorja's dress from being altered. As I was walking out the door Mike finished his meeting and had 5 minutes until the other one. I showed Mike the campsites, but the one that was left was too small for our RV. I was so disappointed. I went back to the original page and what do you know? A campsite that was perfect for us opened up on Tuesday, the exact day we were hoping to go! We hurried and snagged it. Mike then booked a campsite on Monday in St. George and we booked a room at the Great Wolf Lodge for Wednesday. Yay! The first few days we are doing this stuff, the next couple we get to visit Stockton's mission and I am so excited! This is going to be a great Spring Break!

In other news, I got a haircut from Kelsee. In scary news, the Jazz team plane ran into birds right after takeoff and they had to make an emergency landing. Everyone was safe, except for the birds. The plane didn't look so great either. I'm so glad they are all okay physically. Donovan Mitchell didn't fly to Memphis when they left again. He has said he is afraid of flying before, so this didn't help anything.

Jorja has been srtuggling with the decision of going on a mission right when she turns 19 or going to a year of college first. With her scholarship, she can't leave after a semester like Stockton did. She doesn't turn 19 until the end of October, so she will have almost six months just waiting. There are pros and cons with both choices, and both are good decisions. I have no idea what is best for her. Jorja worked today and then went and drove to the temple to ponder on the temple grounds before she came home. I love that girl so much. I hope she can come to a decision that brings her peace.

Grandpa's Fudge

I can't remember if I already posted this. I'm pretty sure I did, but it is always good to have it in several places. The most delicious fudge recipe ever.

An Amazon van broke down in front of our house. Mike took these pictures and sent them to his work buddies saying, "My Amazon van has finally arrived." Haha

Cake Pops

Jorja and Preston made cake pops with the rest of the batter Jorja had. They were so good. I loved watching these two work together. I love my family! Having them all home for a little while is the best!

Finished product! (My kitchen is still recovering from the bathroom deep cleaning)
Jorja has randomly been getting bloody noses. I think it's from the accutane.
Jorja didn't notice her nose was bleeding. Her mask caught a lot of it.

Prom

Mike and Maysen made Bear a jumping bar today. Maysen had fun trying to get him to jump it. Usually he just ran around it, but they got him jumping a few times. It was cute.

Maysen & Bear

Jorja had prom today. It was allllllll day long. Riley picked her up for breakfast around 8. They ate at someone's house. Then they went to Boondocks. Which is kind of funny because that is what they did for Jorja's first prom. Riley had to go to a shift leader meeting at Chick-Fil-A. Bode took Jorja there while Riley was at the meeting. She thought she would have as much fun by herself, but when he was gone most of the things that were done were couple things so it was a bit awkward for her. She was a good sport though.

Kelsee did Jorja's hair and it looked beautiful. The kids went and got pictures at someone's house. Then they took a limo up to Provo to the same lemon restaurant they went to for Sweethearts.

All the parents in student government were asked to chaperone. Mike and I got there first and were able to snag a spot with two chairs. Made it easy. We had to block one hallway and I checked the Jazz score. We weren't able to do chair dancing this time. Mike and I had a good laugh at the SBO picture in the hallway. It looks fake. The boys' heads don't look like they belong on their bodies. Kind of funny.
Joe ~ secretary, Dawson ~ AVO, Bode ~ attorney general, Marshall ~ public relations
Dallin ~ president, Brenton ~ Vice President, Sadler ~ chief of activities
Jorja ~ financial chair, Layla ~ historian
Jorja's group didn't get to the dance until right before it ended. I think they caught the last 30 minutes. Jorja said their dinner took so long. Mike and I ended up being at prom more than Jorja. Too bad. Jorja was wondering if people were there and if people were dancing. The student government had taught three line dances during video announcements. The kids danced to all three. Lots of kids. I sent these pictures to Jorja.

Prom royalty was announced for 2020 and 2021 at the end of the dance. Jorja got to put the sashes on the girls. Last year prom royalty was voted on before the world shut down, but never revealed. I love that these kids were able to get that experience. Janelle won. I love her.

Alta has been under construction. Look at these cool video screens. They have two in the commons now.

The school did the best they could to keep the kids safe. They sold a limited number of tickets. Everyone needed a negative covid test 24 hours before the dance. They were able to get the tests done at the school. Everyone had to wear a mask. Each group was assigned a square to dance in. They got wristbands at the door assigning them to a square. 40 kids could fit in each square. Did they only stay in the square? No, but it was a valiant effort. I'm doing this post one month after the dance and as far as I know no one got covid. It was so wonderful to see the kids together like this. They all looked so happy.

Making Flowers

Jorja left early to decorate for prom. I picked her up a bit before noon to take her to get her dress altered and then dropped her off at school. Jorja and Riley made their flowers for the dance at his house. Except they were only able to get Riley's done before he had to go to work. So, Jorja made her corsage at home. Jorja made it with mostly fake flowers. The only real ones are the baby's breath. She wanted one that didn't have the flowers wilt. I think they turned out so good. How fun that she learned how to make these!

Bunny Kingdom

Stockton left this morning to go to the Air Force. He is going with his diving friends to visit Gavin, another diving friend. Stockton hasn't seen Gavin since his 19th birthday. Gavin can't come home from the Air Force, but he is allowed to have visitors. Gavin has his mission call now and will be leaving to Japan in the next few months. Stockton's going to have a great time.

I took Maysen and Jorja to the dermatologist. Jorja asked me if I could call the seminary and see if she could transfer classes. I think she is the only senior in her class and the only one who makes any comments. She is trying to decide if she should go on a mission as soon as she turns 19 or go to a year of college first. She wants to be in a class with kids that are in the same situation. I called and talked to the principal. He was so nice. He asked if he could talk with Jorja and her teacher. So, as soon as we were done with Jorja's appointment I dropped her off at the seminary building. Jorja said the meeting went well and she is now in a new class. She's happy about it.

Jorja and I went to go get her dress altered for inauguration. Jorja was meeting me there after getting her toenails done. She got her hands done yesterday and then decided she wanted to do both. I was very specific that she needed to meet me at the lady's house at 5:40 because the lady teaches a sewing class at 6:00. The only problem was no one answered the door. Turns out she didn't hear us. She felt so bad. We are going to come tomorrow at noon.

Mike and Preston taught me how to play Bunny Kingdom. Preston won. This is what our board looked like at the end of the game.

Jorja made cake pops and they were delicious. She made several kinds, including frogs. (The others were just round) I have a picture of Maysen with a cake pop, but not Jorja. Haha. These were delicious.

Quick $100

It's always good to wake up and see Jazz in first place. Hopefully they can end the year in first place. That would be amazing.

Mud came to visit Bear today. Mike said Bear was so happy and started going nuts when he saw him. Too bad Mud came over on the last day. The boys got home around 10:00 tonight.

Bear & Mud
My dad has promised each of his grandchildren $100 if they memorize the restoration proclamation. Stockton has it memorized. He got home at 10:00 tonight and is leaving early tomorrow for the Air Force to visit Gavin. My dad came over so Stockton could 'make a quick $100.' Stockton did great and my dad said he only missed one word. Stockton asked what it was. When my dad told him, Stockton shook his head and said he didn't miss it. I went upstairs to consult the shower. Stockton was right. Nicely done. A few weeks later (because I'm so behind on this right now) when Stockton saw my dad he rubbed his hands together and said, "Ahhhh.... my business partner...." Hahaha. Made me laugh. The following pictures are not in the correct order. Stockton did not receive his money before reciting the piece. No idea why blogger has been so annoying with pictures lately.
