Camping and Newsies

Mike and Preston seemed to have a great time at their 'camp'. Mike said he wanted to be like Clint's Dad when he grew up.

These kids went straight from one activity to another. Shooting, hiking, fishing. They wore themselves out, but had a great time.

I sent this picture to Mike and Preston. This is the Subway by our house. Preston is obsessed with Subway for some weird reason. He is so much like Mike it's crazy. Preston texted back, "NOOOOO!"
Mike and I had tickets to see Newsies today. When we realized Mike wouldn't get back in time, I asked my dad. Maysen came with us too. I have never seen it before. I really liked it. My dad liked it. Maysen wasn't a fan. On our way out we saw Jack and Renee Murphy. They were in our ward as I was growing up. Renee was Tzeitel when my dad directed Fiddler on the Roof. Dad talked to Jack and I talked to Renee for a long time. Until the place closed down. Maysen was very patient.

HOME

I had lunch with Teresa today!!! And we both forgot to take pictures. Boo. We met at JCWs at Thanksgiving Point. Teresa wanted to go somewhere with fry sauce and cherry coke. Haha. We ate outside and talked for hours. It was awesome. I wish she would move here. Both of her boys will be going to BYU in the fall. Weston is there now. That is why Teresa is in town.

Jorja came back from Trek tonight. Emily came back from her mission on Wednesday. She was in Taiwan. Ebony missed picking her up from the airport because of Trek. Emily was released over FaceTime because all of the members of the stake presidency were on Trek. Ebony got to be there for that, on the trek side.

Jorja said the trek was pretty easy. I remember Stockton saying the same thing. They did eat like kings. I need Mike to find the trek video he put together years ago. I'm pretty sure the youth in Georgia had a completely different experience, at least with the difficulty level.

Gavin's family came over to swim today. They seemed to have a lot of fun. Stockton and Gavin were even able to do back doubles off of our board. What! They can't get to bounce to work for a lot of things, but for some reason backs worked a lot better.

Mike and Preston went on a campout today. They were told they would be sleeping in an old barn. Mike was worried about this. He started taking his allergy medicine a few days ago to prepare. Well, turns out he didn't need to worry. The old barn turned out much different then we anticipated.
 No hay in sight.

I think they are going to have a great time. This is Clint Okerland's family cabin. I think it was about four hours away. A tiny town in Utah called Loa.

Diving with Ducks

Gavin came over today to swim with the ducks because he was sick when the rest of the divers came over. They had a great time in the pool, then dried off and drove to another pool.

There were two deer in our backyard. Mike tried to help them out. They weren't interested in going the easy way. Instead they bounded across the lawn and hopped the fence right between the two aspen trees.
Gavin and Gage came over and swam with Stockton after diving. Now that is a lot of swimming! After they left we finished watching the Incredibles. The boys were in the pool. Maysen and I sat on chairs just outside the pool. It was great!

Jeff's Wedding

Mike and I went to the Ogden Temple to see one of Mike's friends get married. Jeff works with Mike.  His first wife left him a few years ago. Today he was married to a girl named Jeanette. She seems super nice, and the kids look like they adore her.

There was a two hour break after the wedding, but before the luncheon. We brought our temple clothes and were hoping to do a session, but we weren't positive we would finish in time. Instead, we hung out with Joe and his wife. Joe used to work with Mike and Jeff. It was also Joe's wife's 45th birthday. We walked across the street to Farr's Ice-cream Parlor. It was adorable. I was so excited to get a baseball helmet sundae. I remember having a Dodgers one years ago. I asked for the Washington Nationals and the girl asked which one that was. I said, "The Walgreens one." She figured that out right away. We will have to come back here so we can collect them all. Then we can make a helmet standings like my brothers have.

I sent this picture to the kids. Preston was impressed.
There were two adorable girls getting their picture taken. This was the second outfit they were in. The mom had a giant basket of clothes for them to change into. I liked the first outfit best. These pictures are going to be so cute. How fun!
We drove to the wedding luncheon. It was beautiful.
 This was our table.
Whoever had the flower under the roll plate got to take the beautiful table decorations home. I was the big winner! I gave the flowers to Joe's wife for her birthday.
Tonight was really fun. We watched most of the Incredibles on the giant screen outside while floating in the pool. We had to stop because the wind picked up and we were a tad worried the screen would fall into the pool. Preston jumped out once to support it and it almost knocked him in! That was funny.

Trek

I dropped Jorja off at the stake center this morning. The kids all met there and had breakfast before they loaded on the buses to drive to Wyoming. We tried to find pioneer clothes for Jorja, but they were ridiculously expensive. We found some shirts and a skirt that kind of worked at Savers and I sent her with some random skirts of mine. Mike mentioned that Jorja's Savers skirt looked way too nice for pioneers. I said, "Well, this skirt was three bucks, the pioneer ones are forty." We also ordered Jorja a bonnet on Amazon that never came. I tried to find her a different hat. This was the best I could come up with.

I should have taken a picture from the other direction so the girls could actually open their eyes.

I saw the mom of the boy that had the text messages sent to Jorja from his phone. We ended up talking for a long time. She again apologized over and over and told me how mortified she was. I also saw her brother there. I knew him in high school. He came up to me and apologized as well. I'm glad I saw the messages before Jorja did. Mike and I were able to half way control this situation. Still, looking back I probably should have deleted the messages and just told her some x-rated messages were sent. Although, I have no idea if kids talk like this at school. Does she hear things like this all the time? I don't know. Anyway, things are good between me and the other parent. She asked that I send the messages to her husband because the screenshots didn't come through on her phone. I thought that might be awkward, but her husband was nice and apologized for the whole situation. Even though their boy didn't send the messages he is still in major trouble with his parents. He should have given his phone to his aunt and uncle, he should have never let his phone be used by his friend and he should have shut his friend down and made sure he didn't get out of control; even though he wasn't aware of the extent of the messages. Man, being a parent is hard.

Stockton had some diving friends come over to swim with ducks. They played with them until it was time to go to actual diving. Stockton is so happy that he convinced Gage to come back to diving. He has been having a lot of fun with him this summer.

Stockton's friends came over and played the WiiU after diving. I had to laugh when I saw this pile of shoes by the door. I sent the picture to Stockton. He didn't think it was funny. Come on! They all have the very same shoes!

Miah and Ducks

We keep Jorja's phone in our bedroom at night on do not disturb. I look through her messages either before I go to bed or when I get up. She has been sent some weird stuff in the past. Well, when I woke up today I saw awful messages. X-rated stuff. I don't even want to post it on here. It was sent from one of her friends phone. Luckily I read every single thing that comes through and these messages didn't sound like him at all. I also knew his friends from California were with him. I was pretty sure the messages were sent from his friends. Still, they were just awful. I called this boys mom and talked to her. She was absolutely mortified. I can't even imagine if someone called me and told me those messages were sent from one of my boys. Ewww.

Mike picked Jorja up from work today. We usually wait outside. Mike wanted to see her in action. Jorja was thrilled.
Jorja at the cashier scowling at Mike.
She was so funny. He asked for an order of fries. She said, "What...size...?" Mike said normal. "We don't have normal, how about small." Mike then asked for a frosted rootbeer. Jorja said, "I think you mean two frosted rootbeers." Okay, two frosted rootbeers. The trainer was laughing and said that Jorja has been nice to everyone but him.

Mike's family reunion at the park was today. Sherry and Miah came over to our house before so they could play with the ducks. I'm excited for Jorja and Miah to go to efy together. They are going to have such a great time.

We had a great time at the park this year. Stockton wasn't able to come though. Scoop and Cori were there. They hadn't been there for several years now. We had KFC and pies. I made a butterscotch banana cream pie. We also played whiffle ball. It was fun. Lisa was there. She doesn't go back to California until tomorrow. I should have gotten a picture of Scoop with all of his kids. Glad they were all able to make it.

When we got home, Jorja played with the ducks. Surprise!
We also finished last minute things getting her ready for trek. They leave tomorrow morning. I hope she has a good experience.
