Jorja spent a lot of time yesterday and today working on her application for the ambassador scholarship at Utah State. It is a super hard scholarship to get. They estimate about 800 people apply every year and only 30 people get the scholarship. It would be full tuition for four years, so we are really hoping she gets it. I think she has a good chance, so fingers crossed! One of the scary parts of the application process is once you start it you have to finish the entire thing in one sitting. She needed two letters of recommendation. Just the email addresses, the people send them directly to Utah State. She thought and thought about who to ask. She ended up asking Mr. Packer, the student government advisor and Courtney from Make-a-Wish. Both of them said they would do it, so yay! Jorja had to turn in a four page portfolio. This is what she turned in.

New Year's Eve
That felt good to finish! And she didn't procrastinate this time. It isn't due until January 10th or something like that. The rest of the day was spent in the snow and celebrating the new year. We spent a lot of time at the Springs. We even saw the Roes up there. How fun to randomly run into them! I love that they bought a cabin near ours! Bear has been so good with the kids. I am very thankful that he is so patient with them.

Matt and Sam had to go home today. They stopped by for some night sledding before they left. We took the opportunity to snap some pictures. I ran outside in Maysen's new coat.

Mike didn't realize Kaylee was there, so this one has her in it
Eve didn't want to go outside. I told her that she could wear my cool hat if she did. She decided to go for it. The kids all loved it! They kept coming to me asking if I had anymore. I had five. It was super cute to see them walking around in the dark with glowing heads. Made them much easier to find.

The kids played in the basement until it was time to celebrate the New Year. We watched the New York celebration, so we celebrated at 10:00. The kids didn't mind. Plus both Brett and John's families live in the Eastern time zone anyway.

Rachel had told me how much Eve loves to dress up and wear fancy jewelry. She said she walks around different and has different posture and facial expressions. I laughed and laughed when Eve was dressed up in her fancy dress tonight. Isn't she precious?

This one is out of order... whoops... one last picture with my brothers... John, Brett, Stephanie, Matt
Now brace yourselves for a million pictures of Bear dog. He was letting the kids lay all over him. Once again, so thankful he is a patient, patient dog.

The kids were put to bed around 11:00. We played games and then right before it was midnight we ran outside for a midnight run down the hill. The original plan was to do this at the Springs, but the Springs is SO BUMPY right now. I think too many snowmobiles went up it. Plus then we didn't need to leave sleeping kids for a long time. We only took one run down and then we walked up. It was Brett, Mike, Stephanie, Maysen and Preston. Jorja didn't come out. I was a bit disappointed. She said she had a headache, which I'm sure she did. I think the main reason was she wanted to FaceTime Riley at 12:00. Lame. We were actually in the middle of a game when we hurried outside to get one sled run in, then we came back to finish. We were teaching Brett and John how to play Cover my Assets.
