I decided to do a practice homemade cake to see if it would be good for Maysen's birthday. Well, I'm not a great cook and I am slow at everything I do. It ended up taking me four hours. Haha. That's embarrassing. We decided to sing to her today, five days early, and call this her birthday cake. We didn't want to bring a stand mixer and things like that to the cabin. The cake was delicious though! We ordered Preston an early birthday present. That arrived today. So, after cake we gave both Maysen and Preston an early present.

I didn't get a picture of Maysen and Preston with their presents. We gave Maysen the sequel to Dragon Rider. She loved that book when she was little and we just found out a sequel was released a few years ago. We gave Preston a new phone. He has only had hand me down phones before, which worked fine. He has been using Jorja's old phone. It was an iPhone 6 I think. It stopped getting group texts, so he would miss things about young mens. Also, the steps he had to do to upload his assignments were crazy. Now he has an iPhone 12 mini. He takes a picture of his assignment and hits upload and it is done. Cut off about ten steps on what he had to do before. The old phone was also a Japanese phone so it would make a loud clicking noice whenever he took a picture. Both Jorja and Preston hated that. Now that so much is online it became so obnoxious. When Preston was at school uploading his work people would always tell him to switch off his sound. He would hand them his phone and tell them to try it. Haha. Anyway, he is very glad to have a new phone. I won't let him take it to school until he gets a case for it though. That is supposed to arrive this weekend.

Mike sent us these pictures with the caption that it is so good to see the balloons again. The balloon festival in Albuquerque is amazing. Bucket list for sure. I'm going to go back again one day.
